From PWTorch newsletter:

Lance Storm was the subject of a verbal onslaught during WrestleMania weekend. A couple weeks ago, Lance Storm, who currently works at WWE’s developmental training center at Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, KY, told his students about what to expect when they are called up to the main roster. He talked about how the SmackDown locker room is a bit more old-school in that they might experience more hazing there, which is something Storm openly opposes, sighting that it’s completely unprofessional.

However, he singled out John Bradshaw Layfield and Hardcore Holly as two of the main jokesters backstage and they should be aware of that. One of the OVW wrestlers told some of the SmackDown talent, including Holly, about what Storm said. Storm also informed OVW wrestler Johnny Jeter not to pay attention to any ruling made by “Wrestlers Court.” Jeter is now in hot water with the SmackDown locker room after making a comment about being demoted to tag team wrestling.

JBL and Holly are two WWE veterans familiar with the tag team division in the company. They took offense by Jeter’s recent comments and summoned him to “Wrestlers Court,” which is a system that the guys use backstage to handle problems among the talent in a humorous manner before the matter reaches management. Basically, a wrestler is called into court where testimonies are given and the judge, which has usually been JBL for the past couple years, sentences the perpetrator. In Jeter’s case, he was ordered to fetch JBL’s beers and watch tag team wresting tapes.

Jeter’s hazing got back to Storm and he then ordered Jeter not to take part in this matter.

During WrestleMania weekend, Storm and Holly crossed paths and Holly reportedly uttered to Storm, “f— off.” When JBL and Storm ran into each other, JBL basically cut a promo on Storm. JBL took issue with Storm bad mouthing the SmackDown brand, painting an image like the locker room is filled with bullies and jokers and not serious wrestlers who work to draw money into the company. The situation nearly became physical but Storm kept it from escalating.

Anyone else find this funny?

Holly being pissy about something?

You can literally knock me over with a feather right now.

Fair play to Storm for telling his students to stand up to that sort of garbage and not get involved. Given the regular reports from the usual locker room sources about morale being shattered, the treatment of the departed Divas - which bordered on harrassment - and Rene Dupree getting legitimately battered - which, no matter how much of a twunt RD is, was well out of order - you would hope this sort of thing would be happening less, not more.

Always liked Storm anyway, but this sort of straight bat attitude just ramps up the respect for the man even more.

I can appreciate Storm being honest with them. If Holly and JBL don't like it, then maybe they shouldn't do this stupid crap in the first place. Sadly, knowing WWE's backward policy on this kinda stuff, I'd say Storm screwed Storm.

I pictured the courtroom from the JBL/Cena WrestleMania promo when I read this. And handing down a "sentence" in a make believe courtroom makes me think of like kindergarten kids playing make believe. Pretty damn hilarious if you ask me. WWE never fails to entertain me with their backstage crap.

Storm proves that he's a professional. Holly does not. What else is new?

Hell, why not make this a segment on Smackdown? Just sentence jobbers or midcarders to do small tasks like this. Make an elaborate set and have JBL dress like a damn judge. It could be humorous and its something they'd enjoy doing.

Hahaha, give Storm a medal for trying to put a stop to some of the smut in the biz! I can't blame him, actually...the guy's got a good head on his shoulders and it's smart to try to teach people the right way of how to act.

WTF..."wrestler's court?" That should be a reality TV show on WWE 24/7.

Also known as "telling it like it is."

I always did like Lance.

And here's another reminder/example why.

Once again amazed how management doesn't budge or acknowledge this bullshit, but what?? Matt Hardy laments over the loss of his gf to another man? FIRE HIM! Or, firing two or three other wrestlers to make room for another fest of T&A because wrestling really doesn't matter anymore.

This should get JBL at least another six months with the title.

sighting that it’s completely unprofessional.

I have a hard time reading a site that can't differentiate between citing and sighting. It doesn't take a high-level of intellect to proof read the articles before distributing them.

Actually I give props to anyone who satnds up agaisnt this hazing crap. Just becuase holly and layfield have been in the company for an ungodly amount of years doesnt give them a right to treat others like garbage. It's childish and it hurts morale. It's especially dumb in Hollys case who has been a career midcarder at best ,JTTS at worst. And a grand total of one mainevent level match on ppv that sucked. and then you have JBL who was another career midcarder-tag team guy who lucked out when Trips decided to stay on RAW and SD had no idea who the top heel would be (and since Taker didnt want to turn they had little other options) so they rolled the dice and put the title on a guy who wasnt over yet (well due more to eddys near nervous breakdown). granted John managned to get himself over with time.

in any event, I hope that one day a young guys tires of this BS and smacks one of these "veterans" in the face.

and why hasnt holly been canned yet anyways? Well after the move to usa and possibly no Velocity show, I guess thats when hell get the boot.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the new guy having to fetch a few beers for the former champ (I know he sucks, I haven't even watched him wrestle as champion and I know he sucks) and watch tapes of matches as being that big a deal? If it doesn't involve shit or Bradshaw in the shower, I don't see much of this 'hazing' stuff as being so horrible that a wrestler just could not endure it. Good thing these guys don't work in IT, they'd crack the first day.

Yes... all the threats of being replaced with a shell script and called a n00b and being told to STFU are 1000 times worse than being raped in a shower.

The guy's "hazing" was to watch wrestling tapes because he dissed a long standing and respected form of wrestling.

I don't see the issue here.

Dude I can only imagine some of the punishments JBL has come up with since he's been the judge of kangaroo...I mean wrestler's court.

"Edge, for working stiff with that guy I sentence you to getting your ass soaped in the shower by me."

"Spanky, for looking like a weird guy-chick hybrid, I sentence you to give me a kiss."

After recently reading 100 pages of the classic DVD thread detailing all of the scuzziest rumors about the wrestling business, I have to say, Lance Storm gets my complete respect for giving his students a warning about the shit that's gonna happen to them at the hands of the "veterans" if / when they get called up to the main roster.

At least they don't have to deal with Jim Duggan and his dildo blender.

Just to clarify, but Eddie Guerrero did all he could to get JBL over as a heel. The heartattack angle, being Latin which helped JBL with his anti-immigration shit, and carrying him to some decent matches. Eddie isn't at fault for JBL's failed reign in the beginning and throughout his reign.

How the fuck is watching tag team wrestling tapes "hazing?" They should be watching old school tapes. They should be watching lucha Trios matches, and they should be watching the big Japan promotion's top tag team matches. I'm mixed on Jeter saying being brought up as a tag teamer is a bad thing. Overall for a guys career it seems best to stick him in a tag team for the first three years, then run about a year of intra-fueding within the team, then finally turn them into singles wrestlers.
