Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 Yeah, there's a big gray box over part of the main event for me. Is anyone else getting that? Huh. Anyway, well....not our BEST show but it advanced the angles it needed to. Hopefully more wrestling next week. But fun to read, anyway.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 6, 2005 The match I wrote should have been the Main Event. For the first time ever I was real proud of something I wrote.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 It had already been called, and due to the angle I couldn't justify moving it. Otherwise I absolutely would have; in fact, I had it set as such until I remembered I needed the spot open.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 6, 2005 no excuses. Fix it now or I break another Hoff figure.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 6, 2005 MrAdamFromMass: Malibu doesn't feedback. Main Event spot goes to me because of that OAOAST Hoff: The end of that match is a HUGE angle starting off, I had to give it to him. MrAdamFromMass: DamaraMalibu OAOAST Hoff: I DARE you to call him that in a thread. OAOAST Hoff: *knows you will* Zack = DamaraMalibu

Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 For some actually feedback... shitty, as usual, but some nonetheless. I got the grey box of a small portion of the main event too. Stuff like this -- s -- was scattered throughout the show as well. I'm liking Alf's cheap heat gimmick, if it's a gimmick at all. Zack's a frickin' machine. I always marvel at guys who can handle writing more than one thing on a show and manage to keep each segment entertaining. Props to Eski for writing the beginning portion of the promo. And I haven't forgotten you sent me a PM about BB, Eski. I just can't think of anything at this time. Just in case you were wondering. I always enjoy FM's work but this week he was using some of my guys, so I was curious to see how things would come out. And he didn't disappoint, delivering a fun promo with The Dude and the NNMX that set up an equally fun match later on in the show with Sarcastic Simon vs. The Superstar. Very rarely do I see the commentary actually used to call the action, ususally it's only banter between the guys. I like the idea of a tie-dye leather X-Title. Good Rodez/CW segment. Crazy Vampire returns...as Jay Richards! I remember his last appearance, which I believe was his ONLY appearance. Enjoyed Hoff's segment, even if I don't remember it the first time. Reminds me to finish reading the Last Man Dancing match from LA. I'll read the main event tomorrow. But GPX are heels!
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 MrAdamFromMass: Malibu doesn't feedback. Main Event spot goes to me because of that OAOAST Hoff: The end of that match is a HUGE angle starting off, I had to give it to him. MrAdamFromMass: DamaraMalibu OAOAST Hoff: I DARE you to call him that in a thread. OAOAST Hoff: *knows you will* Zack = DamaraMalibu Damaramu-college kid who complains about the lack of life he has, yet still has no time to leave feedback Zack Malibu-just recently stopped working 12 hour days and finished a semester on top of that I think my reasons for lack of feedback as of late are pretty noteworthy. Oh, and Frigid must now job to every Dungeon of Doom member ever in the OAOAST's newest match, the Mario Logan Invitational
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 This seemed like one of the shortest shows in a long time. Not that that's a particularly bad thing. Go Alf! I hope he gets his title shot. Axel-Alf could be pretty good, actually. Good promo work from Zack as ever. Nice to hear from the Frankies. Like NNMX, they're now starting to develop personalities. Another excellent brawl too, I don't what it is about these teams but they bring the violence together. The Rodez-Wright feud is developing nicely. Behemoth is a great name for a wrestler too. Someone should have used that before now. Brock's still here! Cool. Actually, he'd make a good half of a tag team. Maybe I'll steal him sometime Simon-Supes was a fun match. I liked the various nefarious methods used by the heels. I also support a tie dye title. Aww, poor Crazy Vampire. Interesting approach to have a debuting guy told he's no good. Heh. Cute Hoff bit...but is it just me that would like Igor to possibly die in the ring next week? Main event was all about the angle and turn rather than match, but that was good while it lasted. GPX showing an impressive mean streak in turning heel.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 7, 2005 hey Tony and Eski, let me know which segments you wrote before I read the show so I can feedback them. I'm not even going to bother read anything else since the level of feedbacking here is ridiculous.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 ^ The entire board's dead nowadays, so we should be too. There's about 5 people per folder. Uh, yeah, I honestly had feedback typed up here but just lost it. Apparantly, pressing TAB takes you back a page. Which sucks. So, I'll sum it up real quick. GPX as heels, knew it was coming, didn't know it was this week, real effective stuff. Mascot with Cornette? Did I miss something? Fun promo, fun match. Nice to see a team like the Frankies getting advanced up the card and given personality, especially now Patty's left a little hole in the division. Hoff brings the cheese. You know...the cheese that smells bad but actually tastes nice once you dare to taste it. That's a compliment I think. I mark for cheap heat. And Alf. I've been lurking here longer than ya'll think I'll have you know. If I'm missing anything, it's because I suck. K bye.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 7, 2005 KC, I still think if people can find the time to write something up then they should find the time to feedback the work of others. Some people will even comment on feedback they recieve but still say nothing about what anybody else did. I think its extremely selfish to do that and its getting to the point where I don't think people are even reading the shows. There is the old saying "If you don't like it then leave" and I've been contemplating it as of late. I just feel this whole thing is becoming a waste of time if nobody is reading it. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 We're all reading it, it's just that you have to count the people in school, the people working, the people doing both...sometimes people can only pop in and say a few words and not leave detailed feedback. There was a point where I wrote up an entire Scott Keith-esque review for a PPV (License To Pin) and did enormous feedbacks for every show, however reality catches up with all of us. For those who have the extra time, God bless ya for it. It's nothing personal by anyone, it's just how it is.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Been there and done that. Hell, we're lucky to even get a feedback thread at all over at the SWF. EDIT: In response to Mascot. I agree with Zack too. There's a whole bunch of times where I've read shows and been too lazy to feedback. People should give some sort of feedback even if it's just a few lines, even if they suck at feedback like me or have little to say. But then again, there's a lot of things people should do in this world but don't. And seeing as I can't think of a particular tangent to go off on, I'll leave it there. Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 There was a point where I wrote up an entire Scott Keith-esque review for a PPV (License To Pin)... I was just thinking about that the other day, how hilarious it was. Zack's 100% correct on the feedback thing. I usually begin reading the shows at night, around 10 eastern for PPVs and right after Smackdown or whatever sports programming I'm watching ends. If I don't do it before then then it takes me longer to feedback as I start thinking of plans for the following week. And FM, I just wrote the Frankies-THR segment. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Maybe if we had a rule where you had to feedback a certain amount of times per month to be able to hold a belt or feud with a champion, or stuff like that...then maybe people would be encouraged to feedback a little more. Probably not viable, but an idea I guess.
NYU 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 I used to have enough time to give every show detailed feedback. When I comment on people's stuff, I don't like to do a half-assed job. I'm either going to give them full thoughts on my opinion, or not bother at all. Unfortunately, this past semester has wreaked havoc on how much free time I have had. Between classes, homework, tests, papers, and trying to incorporate a social life into it all, I just haven't had nearly enough time. Once in a while, I could put aside some free time -- like I did with posting the PPV or leaving feedback in the threads once in a while. But most of the time, I just don't have the chance. Believe me, I know how frustrating it could be to not get feedback on your stuff. I've been frustrated several times with people not leaving their thoughts, and I made sure to make that clear in the feedback threads. But sometimes....people just don't have the time. And now I realize I'm guilty of doing the same stuff I criticized other people for a year ago. In the next few weeks, I should have a little more time, so I'm gonna try to leave feedback. I can't guarantee it will be as in-depth as it was before, but I figure a little something is better than nothing. I would recommend everybody else here do the same. Skimming through the show and writing at least one or two sentences a piece on people's stuff should be doable. And to call out the people.....Tony, Eski, Frigid.....believe me, I appreciate the feedback you all leave every week. Everyone else here should strive to do the same. Myself included. NYU 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Been there and done that. Hell, we're lucky to even get a feedback thread at all over at the SWF. I think the difference is that in the SWF, you at least get the chance to be acknowledged and rewarded for your stuff. If you write a better match than your opponent, you get credit for it when your match is posted on the show instead of the other one. There is a sense of competition, with a winner and a loser, and that system is enough to give people the idea that their work is really being noticed. Here, we don't have that. There are no winners or losers. If people don't leave feedback, there is no acknowledgement of whether your work was good or bad. For all you know, absolutely no one might have read it. In the SWF, at least you know the judge read through them and decided which one was better. Here, we don't even the luxury of knowing at least one person read our stuff unless they leave their thoughts on it. This is why a feedback thread is needed more here than it might be in the SWF. .....There. Now dont be bringin your SWF gar-bage here nomore, boyyyyyyyyy. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) I know some people are stuck for time, but my feedback only takes me 10 mins after reading the show. I think something is better than nothing, just to let people know you are reading the show. Edited May 7, 2005 by Mystery Eskimo
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 7, 2005 We're all reading it, it's just that you have to count the people in school, the people working, the people doing both...sometimes people can only pop in and say a few words and not leave detailed feedback. and even that isn't happening. Even a sentence or two on the whole show would be better than the bunch of nothing people are giving. and while KC's idea of rewarding people who give feedback is nifty, it doesn't quite work since the champ rarely ever leaves feedback. It really does just feel like a giant waste at this point.
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2005 I only just actually read this week's show Mascot, so don't just name me for someone that doesn't leave Feedback. For the last few months I've tried to leave as much as I can, once every fortnight or so, and if it hasn't been enough, then I'll try to feedback every week. To the guys who continually leave feedback like yourself, Tony, Eski, Hoff and KC, I know everyone appreciates it, and you do a great job of praising and criticising where it is needed. I know NYU and Zack haven't had a lot of time to do anything in the last couple of months, so I'm not about to single them out as people who don't leave any feedback, because they do what they can. I don't see this as a waste of time at all, because I don't feel the need to have my work praised or criticised every week. If I enjoyed writing it, and the people I'm working with enjoyed reading and writing it, then in my mind, the angle or match was good, and I look forward to writing the next one. Of course feedback helps, I always want to improve my writing and my character, but if I don't get any feedback at all, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I just keep doing what I'm doing. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted May 8, 2005 I didn't just name you, I've named several people. I don't lose sleep over any of this at all. I'd never let it get like that. I enjoy writing the stuff but at the same time I'd like to see that my effort isn't just going in vein. I can find other things to amuse myself for sure. I'm just at a crossroad where I'm asking myself if doing this is worth the time. If I'm going to put effort into something I'd like to see it acknowledged one way or the other rather than ignored and given lame excuses about not having time. If you have time to read the show then surely you can take 5 fucking minutes to write a couple sentences out telling people that you liked it or didn't like it. You don't have to be as detailed as me or some other people, but even a "I liked this week's show. So and so did a good job with their character and I really like such and such angle." would be better than nothing.
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2005 Well I agree with that, but I'm a bit like NYU in that I don't like to just stop at 'I liked the show', I'm more a 'do something right or don't do it at all' person.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2005 It is tough to leave feedback sometimes because half the time, I don't have time to read the cards carefully. And if a grade 12 student feels this way, I'm sure people who are in university or work full time do too.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2005 It's funny, people seem to be finding the time to talk about why they don't feedback. Not criticising anyone, but surely it'd be more productive to feedback than to give a diatribe about why feedback isn't essential, why you can't feedback all the time, how you try to feedback when possible, who should have had the main event spot.
