Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 the flight training missions were a bitch (GTA SA) and the flight mission where you had to stay under the radar and fly through the ring and then make it back to the base.

Holy crap, don't remind me. That took me like a week. Wasn't it in Vice City though? I believe the helicopters mission was in Vice City (you used them to blow up drug shipments maybe?), and the toy biplanes mission was in SA. You went in to the hobby shop run by the guy who's voiced by David Cross(?). That mission was a pain in the ass too since the damn things were so hard to control and the time limit was fairly short. SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 Game's not bad but I don't like it nearly as much as the GTA series. There are def some objectionable things in the game, but it's really not that bad. I thought it wasn't so great in the beggining, but it seems to get better as you play through it. Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 If any of you don't "feel it" right away, then at least give it until you get to the second chapter and work through that for a little while. The entire first chapter is nothing more than a very long tutorial, while laying out the foundation of the story.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted October 22, 2006 When do the photography and auto shop classes open up? I am already almost done with gym, chemistry, english and art and I still haven't had a first class for the other 2.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 In the second chapter I believe. Photography is just a pain in the ass. Has anyone fought someone they just can't beat up? Some of the bigger Preps don't have any damage done to them. It's harder to knock them out than a prefect, which I haven't done yet either, but I'm working on it. Is everyone's prep rating at 0%? Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 I just got this yesterday. It's really fun so far. Just got into Chapter 2. I've passed all of the gym & chemistry classes, but I failed my last tries in English, shop, & art.

Man, I can't even pass the 1st class in Shop. I keep screwing up the controller commands somehow. And I'm stuck in English 4. I guess I could just write down the letters & figure out a bunch of words in advance.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Yeah, English 4 is a bitch. My girlfriend helped me pass 2 and 3. She keeps asking "when are you going back to English" but I am to busy doing missions.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 There was just a report on Fox News about this game. It report was about a school district in Florida warning parents about the game because critics say that it could inspire the kind of violence seen in the Columbine incident. In the report, they intercut scenes from the GTA series into it. The goal is to give the game a "M" Rating to make sure no one over 18 years old can buy it. It's just more of the same sort of bullshit. During the report they had different stats on the screen: -Average game player is 33 years old -Average game buyer is 40 years old -2005: 85% of games sold rated "E" Years from now, there will come a day where video games are viewed in the same way as other forms of entertainment, and all of this bullshit will be looked back on as pure stupidity, by just about everyone of all ages. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 24, 2006 I think that time has already come for a significant amount of our society. Although, that survey has to be screwed. There's no way the average gamer is 33.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 I think that time has already come for a significant amount of our society. If you're talking about what I said about people looking at this sort of thing as stupidity, I agree it is to that point for some, but mainly for those who play games, and since the age of a gamer keeps going up, most of the idiots who still speak out so strongly about the most minor of things are getting up there in age. I don't think it'll be to the point I'm talking about for a number of years still, say another decade. Although, that survey has to be screwed. There's no way the average gamer is 33. Yeah, the age is a bit too high. I do know that the average age keeps going up all the time though. I'd say that it's more around 27 or so right now, but that's just a guess. I've been playing games since, well, always, and I'm 26 years old. When I would go to the stores, it used to just be young kids and that's all, but now I see mainly people my age. I think the average is going to keep going up until it hits that 33 year old mark or so though.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 how can this game inspire columbien like violence? I thought is was fighting involved not shooting anyhow Im debating whether or not to buy this game and or family guy. but Im still playing GTA:LCS on my ps2 so Id like to finish that first (not alot of time to play when you have a job lol)
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 What % is everyone in the game? I'm at 30.02%. That's about where I am. Since the Family Guy game was mentioned, here are my thoughts on it. Well, instead of BestPrices (through the Google Checkout deal it comes to around $23.xx) I bought it at a local Blockbuster since I had most credit than I thought. I'm almost to the end of the game, and it's been an ok way to blow time while having a few laughs along the way. It's nothing technically great, but you know that going in. It's cookie cutter gaming all the way, with a Family Guy coat of paint, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You could beat it with a rental, and there isn't anything to do after you beat it other than the little mini-games, but those are so simple that you'll never go back to do them ever again unless it's just to show them to someone else. I'd even go so far as to say that if you can just buy it for around $20, then it isn't that bad of an idea. You MUST be a Family Guy fan to enjoy it. I find it funny that so many people say that they hate Brian's stealth missions, because that is just about my favorite part of the game! It's like one of those old NES puzzle games or something. Heck, I'd buy a cheap game just totally full of missions like that. I like the themes of Peter's stages, and the oldschool Stewie levels where you are almost sorta playing some of those oldschool arcade shooters were great also. It's not a "bad" game, but it's not good enough to be worth ANY more than $30. The entire thing feels like an old NES game to me, and that's one of the reasons that I like it as much as I do. There have also been quite a few times that I've laughed out loud.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Family Guy is a cute game. I am stuck on the part with Brian where he has to sneak into Tom Tucker's dressing room. Pain in the ass. One thing that annoys the shit out of me with Bully is the cops. If I am riding a bike and I accidently hit an adult, the cops are all over me. You can't get rid of them and they come out of nowhere. Especially when I am in a middle of a mission.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 God, I hate going into New Conventary or whatever it is called. The fuckin greasers start a fight with me every time and it's such a pain in the ass.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Well, I just beat Family Guy. It was a pretty good time, even though it was short. Truth be told though, I don't think this game needed to be any longer, considering the setup and all of that. The final boss battle was awesome! I guess it's back to Bully for me. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 I haven't played the game, but I thought it was coming out as a hard M rating. Was it toned down from where it was supposed to be to get a T?
Invictus 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Just beat Bully at around a 71% completion rate, but I'm not really interested in doing the other crap to get the full 100% (bike races, etc). It was fun while it lasted but I was definitely expecting more out of this. I think I'll have to trade it in for FFXII when that comes out later this month.
