Guest theanswer1824 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Suprisingly, I liked it a lot. It reminded me of the Beastie Boy's 'Sabatoge' video.
Brett Favre Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I found it to be pretty funny. The lyrics weren't the best, but they were better than someone like Nelly would spit. Cena should have gotten more than one verse though, but with all three of them getting a verse, it sorta was reminiscent of the Beastie Boys.
CanadianChris Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 It kept me entertained. Definitely had a Beastie Boys vibe going for it. Plus, they fucking NAILED the A-Team gimmick. Cena WAS Hannibal Smith.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 It kept me entertained. Definitely had a Beastie Boys vibe going for it. Plus, they fucking NAILED the A-Team gimmick. Cena WAS Hannibal Smith. Does that mean if there's an A-Team movie, he'll get that part?
Guest Quik Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Y'know, honestly, for a wrestler making a music video... it wasn't that bad.

The artist does a verse, and then you've got "featured" rappers doing the rest. Overall, it was a cheesy video, but done tongue-in-cheek, so not bad.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 As a wrestler whose gimmick is that of a rapper, it wasn't that bad. But as a serious attempt at a music video, it was pretty bad.
Guest theanswer1824 Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Y'know, honestly, for a wrestler making a music video... it wasn't that bad. I agree. Usually, I cringe when a wrestler is stepping out of his realm. but shit, cena must be credible if he's cool with people like 7L, Bumpy Knuckles, etc (underground hiphop heads know these guys like how you smarks know 'indy' guys). all in all, good video, i liked how cena changed his delivery a bit too, and also the track was pretty violent if you were listening to the lyrics (especially bumpy knuckles verse).
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Shannon Moore on the cover of the newspaper Gary Coleman was reading = GOLD.
Guest fanofcoils Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Cena's rap video failed to deliver to the mainstream audience, it might have made him "cool" by having him rap with the Mr. T lookalike/underground rapper but Cena didn't deliver a breakout performance that will cause the mainstream audience to really like him as a rapper IMO.
Matt Young Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I really liked it. I was just surprised that they'd show the guns and shit on UPN. I was also surprised that Cena would be seen drinking and smoking on camera (even though it was fake) since I believe he has claimed to be sXe.
Promoter Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Rumours are running wild that Cena's music video turned away about a million viewers for raw. RAW got a 3.8 supposedly.
Black Lushus Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 if Cena's theme, the one before his current theme is on here, I may scoop this up just for the hell of it...
Guest hhheld_down Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 it was so good it took RAW down by only drawing a 3.3 for that segment. I guess most of cena's fans have to be in bed by 9 (central time).

Guest whitemilesdavis Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 It wasn't as good as the videos Konnan did in the last days of WCW.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 It wasn't as good as the videos Konnan did in the last days of WCW. Those were only REALLY good when Disco Inferno superimposed his image into them.
Guest Prof_Plague Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 It wasn't as good as the videos Konnan did in the last days of WCW. Or Savage's hip-hop album.
zyn081 Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Not bad, but that album cover is horrible. I think so too. Man, they Fed up the WWE title just for Cena's album cover! WTF
iliketurtles Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I like the video. I'm happy for Cena. All the fame and stuff...he earned it.
Carnival Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 It wasn't as good as the videos Konnan did in the last days of WCW. Those were only REALLY good when Disco Inferno superimposed his image into them. "....and we eat the worm it's our..turd? What?" Disco was the greatest. So will they ever play this Cena video on MTV?
Guest Brian Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Has anyone noticed the insane amount of media blitz for Cena? He was on the local evening news and did an interview for the local sports show on NBC.
cabbageboy Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Oh God, I was having bad memories of Konnan's video. I swear WCW showed that damn thing EVERY week on Thunder back in the day, and it wasn't when WCW was dying either (this was like 1998 or so). I got to the point where I'd just turn the channel the moment it came on, and I am now doing the same with Cena. I liked it the first time, but I KNEW they would keep playing the fucking thing and I refuse to watch it constantly.
AndrewTS Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 It kept me entertained. Definitely had a Beastie Boys vibe going for it. Plus, they fucking NAILED the A-Team gimmick. Cena WAS Hannibal Smith. Does that mean if there's an A-Team movie, he'll get that part? There is an A-Team movie coming out. So says IMDb, which is extremely unreliable. How was blowing up the 80's part of the plan, anyway? I don't get it.
Guest Cerebus Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I dug the song so much I actually spent a buck and downloaded it off his site.
