CanadianGuitarist Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 I'll admit it. I'm now officially terrified of the Yankees. 10 in a row is trouble.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Watching the ESPN daygame today... can anyone tell what's wrong with Angels frickin' offense, they've been shutout by Westbrook through 6 innings... and it's also 1-0 Indians..

I think it's safe to say that Darrin Erstad is one of the most overrated players in the game. Watching today, no one on the team is hitting but Vlad
Bruiser Chong Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Cubs managed to get another blown save out of Mesa, rallying for two runs in the ninth, with a pair of Baker Boys doing the most damage. Dempster made in interesting, though, with the bags full and one out in the bottom of the ninth.
MikeJordan23 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Barry Bond on 24 Hour IV http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2063397
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Abreu cracks another one. Home run in 9 of last 10 games.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Back to back HRs for Newhan and Mora (#2) make it 60 HRs on the year and 7-3 Os in the 6th.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Just for fun, Im thinking of going to the Os/Phillies game on Friday Night since Im off although I have to work saturday morning.
mike546 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 A-Rod hits his 14th HRer and the Yanks already lead 4-0. I'm sadened Pedro isn't pitching on Friday, him against the 11 games in a row streaking Yanks would have been fun.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Mussina gave up 2 in the first and already threw about 30 pitches. 4-2 Yanks in the second.
mike546 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Sure I'm being negative, but the Yankees aren't winning this game. Its just one of those nights. Edit: Fucking Womack. If the Yanks do lose this game, what an awful game to lose. All Posada has to do is pick up the DAMN BALL on the K, but instead drops it. Sheff makes a pathetic throw that ties the game, Womack turns a double into a triple, and Gordon gives up the game winning hit to a .194 hitter. Edit 2: Holy crap, just when it couldn't get any worse, Sheff is a dumbass and doesn't get to third on a single, which takes away TWO TIMES when he would have scored later in the inning. And ironically, the game comes down to Giambi, who looks at three pitches RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE TO END THE GAME. Christ, worst game this season.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 7-6 Seattle, top 9, 2 out, bases loaded. Giambi strikes out looking on 3 pitches. Game over, win streak over, hopefully, Giambi over.
mike546 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 In his case, he had a decent trip. But that AB was pathetic. Honestly, RIGHT DOWN THE GOD DAMN MIDDLE.
Der Kommissar Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 I kind of figured that the Yankees would end up blowing the game the second I saw Tom Gordon come in. Thankfully, he didn't let me down. I do have to wonder why they left Giambi in there for the final at-bat though. Tino Martinez has been hot lately, why not take the chance on him in that situation?

I do have to wonder why they left Giambi in there for the final at-bat though. Tino Martinez has been hot lately, why not take the chance on him in that situation? That would have basically killed of all confidence Giambi would have. If Tinos a righty yes, but a lefty for a lefty? Bah. Its one game, but its one game the Yankees I swear tried to lose. And its not Tom Gordons fault that a. Womack can't field a ball (which like Al said, he shouldn't play LF anyway) and b. the damn ump can't see Reed came off the bag.
Der Kommissar Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 And its not Tom Gordons fault It just seems like almost every time I pay attention to a Yankees game and I see Tom Gordon come in, the Yankees always seem to find a way to blow a game. If Tinos a righty yes, but a lefty for a lefty? Bah. True. I guess I was just greedingly thinking about one of my fantasy teams, since I was fairly certain that the Mariners were going to blow that lead. I am still shocked that they didn't find a way to walk Giambi or something. I am just happy I wont have to see any Yankees vs. A's/Mariners games for awhile.
Jericholic82 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 what a way to end a streak, three big errors. How many times do you see a dropped third strike these days? Womack either should go back to 2nd or DH. Oh well I jokingly was hoping for like a 10 game win streak after they lost to the As two weeks ago, and they actually delivered, so no whining here. The Subway Series should prove interesting.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 He would've more interesting if Pedro was pitching in one of the games damnit!
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Well, i'm finding this to be a fun weekend... Mets go to Interleague against the Yanks, baseball returns to FOX (it's because I love how FOX produces baseball games) and I have a chance to see Revenge of the Sith in the theathers.
Jericholic82 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I wont get to actually see any of the games, as my local fox will be showing the classic angels-dodgers matchup (blech)
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I wont get to actually see any of the games, as my local fox will be showing the classic angels-dodgers matchup (blech) what the fuck? why? i'll be able to see it. You have really a cheap-ass cable company you know.

Bruiser Chong Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Interleague play bothers me since the Cubs draw the best team in baseball, while the Cards get six with the Royals.
The Czech Republic Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I love how FOX produces baseball games crap-for-brains
MikeJordan23 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Interleague play bothers me since the Cubs draw the best team in baseball, while the Cards get six with the Royals. .....sounds fair to me
treble Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 The Jays called up Aaron Hill now that Koskie's hurt. He's DHing tonight, but I think there's probably a little competition between him and Russ Adams over who's supposed to be the 'shortstop of the future' for the team.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 Screech just hit his first major league HR.
mike546 Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I wonder that all the bad hatred the Yankee players have from Brown is carrying over to this year. The D in his last two starts seriously makes me wonder if they WANT him to lose.
