geniusMoment Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I would give Graves the benefit of the doubt. There's a difference for a flyball pitcher in Cincinnati and one in Miami. But Graves is not a fly ball pitcher. He was successful because of his sinker, which induced ground balls. The last couple of years he lost his sinker, which hurts more than his drop in velocity. A sinker that does not sink gets hit hard in Cincy or Miami.
razazteca Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Chicago Cubs fans hate Jeff Gordon and NASCAR?
Bruiser Chong Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 When they sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on Mike Ditka levels of badness, then yes, yes they do.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I fail to believe anyone could sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" worse than Ozzy did that one time.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I fail to believe anyone could sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" worse than Ozzy did that one time. Yeah, but Gordon proclaimed he was happy to be at "Wrigley Stadium."
Fartsauce Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 The Blue Jays go for their 4th win in 5 games tonight. At 24-21, we are doing slightly better than what most people (including myself) projected. Even though we aren't going to compete with the Yankees and Red Sox (maybe even the Orioles) this is a very good young team. I'll be happy with a .500 season.

mike546 Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Three games over 500. I thoughts that what you had to be to be noticeable?
Fartsauce Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Lol. I'd really like to see the Orioles hold up but I just don't know. I hate the Yankees as much as the next person but I see them *sigh* making the post-season once again. Although I could be wrong.
Der Kommissar Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Well, I just happened to notice that Oakland is losing 11-0 to Tampa Bay in the second inning after giving up 10 runs in the first inning. That's got to be some sort of record for the Devil Rays. How the heck did Oakland become so bad all of a sudden?
Guest Brian Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Lots of injuries. And underperforming on both ends.
fairtoflair7 Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Mets cannot beat the Braves...plain and simple they are something like 20-48 since 98 at Turner Field It also disgusts me the Aaron Heilman, who has been the Mets #2 pitcher this year behind Pedro has been delegated to the bullpen so the has-beens like Ishii and Zambrano can still pitch thier 4 innings of work and get bombed...fvckin ridiculous

That's got to be some sort of record for the Devil Rays. How the heck did Oakland become so bad all of a sudden? Brian pretty much hit the two key points. I'd say only Bobby Kielty, Keichii Yabu, and Huston Street haven't underachieved so far this season. I keep waiting for the law averages to work themselves out and them to be a competitive team, not a playoff team mind you but at least capable of hovering around .500. Right now I wouldn't be surprised if they lose 100 games.
The Czech Republic Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 I fail to believe anyone could sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" worse than Ozzy did that one time. Yeah, but Gordon proclaimed he was happy to be at "Wrigley Stadium." Yeah that did it. Ditka's rendition wasn't THAT bad. It was entertaining the first time I saw it, because then, like with Ozzy, I was like "what just happened."
mike546 Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 You can hate Jeters D all you want, but that catch was mad ridiculous.
