Random thought/question: How is it that the act of prostitution is illegal but advertising it isn't? Reading through a newspaper taking the bus home last night and the back section was about 5 pages long talking about how much/where/what kind of girls. Wasn't even the subtle "You are paying for the companionship only" kinda deal, big bold lettering advertising swallowing, blowjobs and even prostate massages.

I don't think it becomes illegal until money is discussed/exchanged, so they can advertise as long as they're not listing prices. Or it's the police trying to trap you.

I just sent my boss an e-mail saying I don't think any of the people that called in sick this week will provide a doctor's note as per their new collective agreement because her e-mail about it was "borderline deceiving". She told the regular employees they had to provide a note to get paid for a sick day - implying they only had to do so to get paid a sick day, otherwise we didn't care, but then sent a supervisors only e-mail stating their new agreement removed the previous clause (3 consecutive days or 2 non-consecutive days in a calendar month) and we had to ask for every single sick call, then write-up those who didn't have one. I don't think this will go over well with here, and part of me thinks I should have just kept quiet about it (as I had for the past 2 weeks or so since it had been sent out) but it really was bothering me.

Ugh, places do that all the time. "You need a doctors note to take a payed sick day" .... "Where's your note?" "I don't have one." "I'm gunna have to write you up!"

 

It's also a bullshit policy anyways. So you get a bit of a flu and are laying in bed puking, and you have to go see the doctor for a note?

 

Heaven forbid someone's sick. That's what sick days are for. If somebody's using sick days so much that they run out of them, okay then you can write them up or ask for a note.

I remember my old job was like that- the assistant manager was a total cunt and got really on me because I had called out sick a couple times. By a couple, I mean like twice in the span of 6 months or so. Keep in mind I'm hourly so there's no such thing as paid sick days for me, I'm losing money by doing this. The first time she bitched me out saying I needed a doctor's note and wrote me up, so the second time I called out I made an effort to go to the free clinic (I had no health insurance at the time) and sat in the lobby for like 2 1/2 hours, hacking up a storm just to get the stupid note. Then when I go to work the next time, I go to show it to her and she just smiles and says "Oh that's okay Leo, I believe you." WTF.

They're both fairly young, at least a year or two younger than me and I considered myself a whippersnapper around these parts. I just got the difference between the two about a month ago. The trick is Someone Great/Cyber Mark/Mr. Glasscock is British, At Home is friends with Milky and used to live in Hawaii. Hope that helped.
