I've never really gotten Hurricane, to be honest. I loved Shane Helms, but Hurricane...no.

It's an amusing little gimmick that goes over really well with younger fans, and when played off of a good straight man (such as Lance Storm or The Rock) it makes for some good comedy.

How come alot of these bullshit gimmicks are backed up with "The kids like it".

Im glad Im not the only one who thought Cena and Batista were midcard. They dont even excite me. I dont watch Raw or Smackdown that much, but when I do and they are the main focus and stuff, I cant help but say "WTF are they doing with the belt?". When I first watched wrestling Austin, Rock, Triple H, Mankind, Kane, gave off the aura that they were main eventers. Except for Triple H now that Im older. He was the Cena and Batista of 98 and 99. I always wanted HHH to get the belt from Rock but now that I think about it, if he had have gotten it, he would suck just like Cena.

Why was Lesnar so over? He sucked. And the bad thing is no one knew that.

Because kids want merchandise. Hurricane is a perfectly fine gimmick for openers and so on, but not for a serious push.

Lesnar was over because he was one of the few hosses who was actually a great mat wrestler as well. He was one of the best wrestlers in the company.

New Jack was a mean, black guy who destroyed people with odd, inventive weapons, while loud rap music played in the background. That's a pretty unique gimmick. And for ECW, it just fit.

How Cena is as over as he is, I've no idea.

Gonna get flamed,,,,, Hulk Hogan, while growing up I never understood why he was so popular, same goes for Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Because they knew how to work the crowd better than just about anybody in the business, especially Hogan. There is an art to getting a crowd involved and rallying them behind you without making them feel like you're weakly pandering to them.

There's a lot more to wrestling than being a technical marvel. If that was the only skill worth anything, Lance Storm would be a multiple-time world champion by now.

Low Ki.

He has a great voice but otherwise -

He also looks stiff as can be with those kicks(knowing martial arts or faking it well enough always looks good) plus he has that Wanderlei Silva like "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU" look going

No. I don't see it. Him being over is baffling to me.

Low Ki has good spots, and some in-ring charisma.

DDP had a knack for cheap heat. Getting in 'respect' feuds with more popular faces, constantly nursing injuries. He was booked to NEVER look bad for quite a while too. The Outsiders, who were hugely over as 'cool' tweeners, begged him to join the nWo since they were good friends (thus giving the illusion that he, too, was cool.). Then he Diamond cut both of them (or Diamond cut Hall and somehow laid out Nash, I forget.) Thus getting one up on the two guys who had single-handedly beat the crap out of the entire WCW midcard a month earlier.

I was really surprised with the staying power of the New Age Outlaws.

Well ill agree with Hacksaw Jim Duggan, I always thought he looked, acted, and sounded like a moron. Scott Steiner, too, in the later nwo and def wwe period. Belly to back suplex was it, and no mike skills
