Caliban Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 From BIG DAVE (Meltzer)... Raw last night drew a 3.7 rating.
Mole Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Hmm, that is pretty low, especially since they hyped the draft.
Caliban Posted June 8, 2005 Author Report Posted June 8, 2005 Agreed, though I did spend most of the show wondering what the hell the main event was...
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 My dad and I kept flipping back to the Eastern Conference Finals game.
MikeJordan23 Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 The Eastern Conference finals game 7 getting the highest rating for a NBA game on cable tv history might have hurt.
Dangerous A Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 WWE "official" explanation- How can we compete with the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, game 7? Hell, even we were watching ?!!?!
Eclipse Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 WOW, that's a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Of course, the reason will be the fact that the NBA Finals got a huge rating, but who knows at this point. I thought RAW was pretty good, and I didn't picture it getting a lower rating than 4.0.
Placebo Effect Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 That's what happens when Viscera doesn't appear.
Brett Favre Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I missed RAW because of the NBA Conference Finals, so I totally understand.
Precious Roy Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I taped RAW and watched game 7, I don't see how a 3.7 can be considered a disapointment considering the competition
Dangerous A Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I too missed Raw live (Tivo'd it) in favor of watching Game 7. Sorry Raw.
King Cucaracha Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I turned over when I realised Trips wasn't opening the show. What?
what Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 the ecw finish and the competition probably killed the rating
razazteca Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 So what were the quarter hour ratings so we know who to blame?
Dangerous A Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 That info doesn't usually come out for a couple days after the show I think.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 According to the Torch, so take this with a grain of salt: -Raw drew a 3.7 this week, up from the 3.6 of the week before. It peaked with a 4.2 rating for the overrun featuring the ECW angle. The Chris Benoit vs. Gene Snitsky "TV main event" drew a mere 3.4 rating, which was tied with Q1 as the lowest rated quarter our of the program. A big consolation is that the competiton was stiff with TNT's Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat deciding game seven, which drew a monster 7.5 average rating throughout and went head-to-head with all but the final 20 minutes of Raw.
razazteca Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 It's not Snitsky's fault it was the NBA playoffs...
Downhome Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I don't understand how this is a disappointment either.
syxx2001 Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Ah, 7.5 rating. Have seen that figure in a wrestling column since, 98, 99?
Guest *KNK* Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 The draft last year brought in a big increase in ratings and it was hyped for weeks this time around, they had to be hoping for at least a 4.
Placebo Effect Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 the ecw finish and the competition probably killed the rating <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope
Mole Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I think it's funny that a 7.5 is high for the NBA while the NFL and MLB see those numbers all of the time.
Brett Favre Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Well, it was on TNT. Usually playoff games for MLB and the NFL are on non-cable TV.
Gary Floyd Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Wrestling fans don't like white rappers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You just know tht HHH is trying to convince Vince that Cena isn't a draw. "See Vince, I told you Cena would kill our ratings."
razazteca Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 3.4 rating for the opening and the main event does not look good.
what Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I think it's funny that a 7.5 is high for the NBA while the NFL and MLB see those numbers all of the time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not the high. MLB has never come close to 7.5 on cable.
