let's all join together and reminise on our favorite episodes of the legendary MTV program "TRUE LIFE"

my 2 favorites would have to be first, the "true life - i'm going to fat camp" episode, where a group of fatass teenagers go to "camp shane" to shed those pesky pounds. the crowning moment of the episode comes at the end when the 400 pound mammoth of a 16-year old(thats after he had already dropped 100 pounds) is filmed in his kitchen talking about how much weight hes lost, WHILE COOKING AN ENTIRE TURKEY FOR HIMSELF! WITH AN ATTTIUDE LIKE THAT HE'LL BE AN OVERWEIGHT SOCIAL REJECT FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE AND NEVER FEEL THE SOFT WARM VAGINA TISSUE OF A WOMAN.

my second favorite episode would be "true life - i'm a fag"(i think that was the name) nothing gets me going like seeing a bunch of sweaty metrosexuals dirty dancing together in a bar! it was entertaining watching the gay man trying to his gayness from his friends, who were also pretty gay looking. not that i'm gay and would know what a gay man looks like, i mean that would be gay. i'm just saying this guy was gay and his friends may or may not have been gay, the show as a whole was gay but i enjoyed it.. does that make me gay?

True Life - I Have A Summer Share was nothing short of wonderful. I think I've actually got that one on tape somewhere.

Since this is a pro wrestling board (at least in theory), I gotta throw out the I'm A Pro Wrestler episode with Triple H, Rory Fox and Tony Atlas.

Tony Atlas: Does anybody have a cellar phone?

Tony Atlas...oldschool True Life.

I bitch about MTV doing nothing music related in the last 10 years or so, but True Life is one of the better things they've come up with.

I liked the embarassing parents one. The Plain White Rapper! or whatever he was. And the Star Wars story was damn near heartwarming.

I prefer the "I want to be Jennifer Lopez" episode better.

The one show on MTV I actually like.

The Pro Wrestler episode is one of my favorites (especially the bit with Tony Atlas trying his damndest to get that wresting show going). The one about plastic surgery was really good for laughing at, and the one with the girl becoming a BMX biker was pretty cool as well. I was actually really happy for her when she landed that backflip.

The marriage one was great for several reasons. Firstly, the bit the guy mentioned above about the Italian groom freaking out and threatening to murder the limo driver. Secondly, I live in the same city as the gays getting married and know pretty much every spot they visited in their part of the episode.

Almost all of them are instant classics due to the sheer unintentional comedy. I'd rank the Jersey Shore(Guys) episode up there pretty high, along with the wedding episode if not only for what everyone else has already mentioned: The Italian wannabee mobster guy going irate.

I think the line that the cheesy Dago (OMG, racist, ban plz) uses is "I'm going to hunt you like cattle" ... who the fuck hunts cattle?). But that one is indeed awesome.

My favorite part of the fat camp one is the girl that does nothing to actually get in shape (the spoiled girl that complains and fakes that she's sick the entire time) ... when she goes to chat up the guy that she digs and he tells her that she needs to lose more weight. Such an awesome thing to say; the guy gets major points for that.

I found it humerous that the guy was looking for his true love yet kept hitting on skanky "Girls Gone Wild" rejects...yeah, true love, buddy...I also thought it was funny how everyone in the house kept watching the one guy fuck the slut he picked up that night...

The only episodes of "True Life" that are worth a damn are from the 1998-99 incarnation of the show, back when Tabitha Soren was executive producer of the series and it dealt with FUCKING REAL TOPICS and not bullshit garbage involving rich pretty white people who go around crying about how hard it is to be pretty and white and rich enough to get fake tits or have a timeshare house.

Made is actually a pretty decent show half the time...what was the recent one, where they made that tall, skinny, goofy, nerdy white chick into like runner-up for the school pageant, damn they made her look spectacular! Also the one with the skinny goof that wanted to be a wrestler and he even got some help from Kurt Angle...

I loved the wrestling one, but they havent shown it in years. man I wanted to tape that too!!! (remember when it first came on in august 99, it was WWF week on mtv, every day one or more stars appeared on a different show, my fav perhaps being droz and the godfather on say what karaoke)

recently they had one on people who were poor and it was pretty good. funny part when this girl got fired cuz she was hanging out at her job place (a restaurant/bar) on her night off and got caught with weed, her excuse was hey im not 21 so I cant drink.

was it a tru life one where the dad was obbsessed with star wars and took his son to a convention?

nooooo, this was the one where the kid was like a feminine drama/band geek and wanted to be on the high school varsity wrestling team...Kurt Angle came to his school and gave him some pointers...I think he actually punked out a couple bullies too, if I'm not mistaken?

Yea I Saw that one too, it was good. Angle did indeed get over on the bullies and they all started sucking up to Dov (the kids name). A funny part was Dov doing the 5 knuckle shuffle in his bedroom I think.

I can't Remember if it was True Life or not, but remember the show where there was two or three sets of "embarrasing parents" ? One was a burnt out hippie dad who thought he was a gangsta rapper, and the other dad was a star wars fanatic, and he was brought to tears when his son agreed to take a photo with him in full storm trooper garb. The best part was when one of the other star wars nerds saw it take place and started crying and saying he wished his dad was there for him like that....lol.
