AndrewTS Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 "Nobody said you didn't have the right. What might entertain you might entertain a crowd of 150 in some promotion where the talent is basically working for free, but probably not so much the average fan. If you hate the WWE that bad maybe you should quit watching completely and just go to indy shows. Not just you either. "This sucks," "Vince sucks," "HHH sucks", "Carlito pushed because of Carlos", on and on and on, just quit watching if it's that terrible for you." You suck. Go post in a WWE AOL chat room if you can't handle seeing the WWE criticized, or flaws in a match noted.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Damn...now a barbed wire chair. It's like Triple H is trying to out-do ECW in his own way tonight. If a cheese grater is brought out, we'll know for sure.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 I love the way some let being "smart" get in the way of enjoying the matches and programs. I watch wrestling the way I watch movies. When watching Batman with kids last weekend, I wasn't wondering how much the star made, if the director and producer were feuding, what the "buy-rate" (box office) would be though I did check that out a day or two later. Many of you deprive yourself of lots of enjoyment while trying to prove to others, or yourselves, how knowledgeable you are. You know behind-the-scenes things the average fan doesn't. Good for you. Guess what? The average fan doesn't care. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While I partially agree, it's mostly a matter of wanting a good match, just like you would want Batman to be a good movie. When you spend $35, you don't want to be disappointed with the show. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe it's because I expect to see a certain quality with my $35 bucks. I don't care about the money. It's nothing but I ask for entertainment, I should get it. I choose to be entertained by good wrestling and the Angle/HBK match didn't deliver for ME. If you loved it and want to toss out your snowflakes for it, then by all means do so. I paid my money and I obtain the RIGHT to voice my displeasure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nobody said you didn't have the right. Way to go!
AndrewTS Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 "Anti-smark rant # 4598124 on the board. Way to go" Actually, that was just template anti-smark rant #7 with the Carlito thing tacked onto the end.
Guest *KNK* Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 I am enjoying this HIAC as it's leagues beyond last year's version. The chain and Barbed Wire were nice touches.
Slickster Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 That was a formula Angle and Michaels rant.
Da Maintenance Man Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Maybe it's because I expect to see a certain quality with my $35 bucks. I don't care about the money. It's nothing but I ask for entertainment, I should get it. I choose to be entertained by good wrestling and the Angle/HBK match didn't deliver for ME. But evidently..you KNEW before you ordered it that you wouldn't like it. And that it would be 35$ quantity. At least that's what I gathered from what you were saying bef ore it even started... So if you know you're not gonna get that quality, there's no reason to expect that quality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course i was apprehensive about ordering this, as I was for ONS. ONS clearly delivered. If you can deliver 3 weeks ago, Its not out of the question to do so again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Two different booking styles there pal. I think I can safely say that NOBODY is expecting this PPV to be nearly as good as ONS was.

You are basically using your dislike in the smark community and attaching me as the focal point of it, for merely displaying a displeasure in the product i just ordered. They do deliver from time to time. I enjoyed Mania, ONS, Rumble but not this show. Its you here completely and without reasoning, ATTACKING me because i simply am saying Im not pleased with this show. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think they're referring to this and this in particular...just generic negative comments with nothing really behind them (you're probably getting picked on in this case since you seemed so negative about it from the getgo)
BHK Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 So for those that are watching, how is the match so far?
Guest *KNK* Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 So for those that are watching, how is the match so far? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pretty decent. Better then the last couple incarnations. Very bloody and weapons loaded. No fancy wrestling and no 20 minute laying down segments.
naiwf Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 So for those that are watching, how is the match so far? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pretty decent. Better then the last couple incarnations. Very bloody and weapons loaded. No fancy wrestling and no 20 minute laying down segments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Considering Batista's kicked out of repeated chain shots to the head, a DDT on a barb wire wrapped chair, and a sledgehammer blow to the head, and HHH caught the sledgehammer in the jaw/throat, it's going to be pretty anticlimactic when a Pedigree or Batista Bomb ends it. Other than that, if you like blood it's probably as good as you could hope for.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 And Batista FINALLY kicks out of the Pedigree!

Which probably means you are one of those elitist smarks who refuses to admit he's a smark because he feels he is above them, even though he still has a keen interest in what goes on behind-the-scenes, making him no better than any of us...not that being an "average fan" would.

So a finisher ending the match probaly wouldn't be that anti-climatic. OUCH. especially if it's like what just happened.
Guest hasbeen Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 There's a lot I haven't liked, the latest thing is the Diva Search, but I understand a large portion of the audience likes it or it wouldn't be getting the TV time. I don't let that one part ruin the rest. Once again, if it's that terrible, why not just quit watching?
Exslade ZX Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Batista WINS. With a Batista Bomb, and he kicked out of the Pedigree to get there, damn.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 And Batista retains! Triple H tried to use the sledgehammer while Batista lifted him up for the Batista Bomb, but the Bomb prevailed.
The Niggardly King Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Was this the best Hell In A Cell since Brock/Taker?

You keep watching with the hope, because you know the second you look away something interesting will happen.
Guest *KNK* Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Very good HIAC main event that completely surprassed my expecations as it was just a very good brutal bloody brawl. Did it save the ppv? One really good match and a bunch of less then stellar matches? I will consider it in the middle. But i stress that it was a very good war at the end there.
krease Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Is it ending on Batista's victory? I was kinda hoping for the MitB thing to happen, but I guess not after he lost tonight already.

At least that way it wasn't a "standard" move that proved to be enough to end this feud. Then again, considering the two guys involved, I don't think that probably would have been the best idea because one or both could have probably seriously injured themselves if the timing was off even one bit. As long as HHH doesn't become WWE champ at Summer Slam, I'm fine with the finish to this match.
AndrewTS Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 "There's a lot I haven't liked, the latest thing is the Diva Search, but I understand a large portion of the audience likes it or it wouldn't be getting the TV time." Wait...you think the bookers consistently listen to fans when deciding what to air? Seriously?
Caliban Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Tremendous PPV. Top to bottom, better than WM 21. I'll write more tomorrow. Quick results and match ratings... Carlito beat Shelton Benjamin ***1/4 Victoria beat Christy * Kane beat Edge ***1/2 (easily their best match) HBK beat Angle ****3/4 (as good as Mania IMO, but not better. A very different match from Mania) Cena beat Jericho and Christian ****1/4 (Really good, but too short, was 15 minutes, 5 more minutes was needed) Batista beat HHH ****1/4 (Loads of gimmicks ala the ONS main event, a chair with barbed wire wrapped around it was used, went too long though at 25 minutes. )
Guest hasbeen Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Doesn't this seem like the end of their feud...is there any way HHH could be moved to Smackdown. It was totally revitalize both shows.
