Great spots from Wrestling Video Games

Recommended Posts

Shit, man! Love the sig! Was that a glitch in the CAW mode, or what?

Probably Gameshark.

Gameshark can hack moves and splice them together. For instance, you can replace the DVD with a FU, but all DVDs in the game become FUs.

Someone had a great looking Batista CAW they showed off on here, made by editing the placement of some of the tattoos.

Yeah it's a Pumphandle Piledriver hack. I didn't do it myself I got it from the No mercy Zone. I can't hack for shit. I tried to make a Cliffhanger hack for my AJ caw and everyone started warping all over the place.

I picked up Rumble Roses a few weeks ago from Circuit City for only 10 bucks. I was hesitant but the price was right, and glad I did. Quite a good game despite the shameless fanservice.

Bloody Shadow (me) vs. Dixie Clemens (CPU)

I started a standing moonsault while she was laying down--she got up quickly, and CAUGHT me, looking like she was going to Last Call me--but I slipped free--punches exchanged, I was hammer thrown to the ropes--I vaulted over, landed behind her--roundhouse kick, ducked behind her legs and hit a neckbreaker drop. As she got up, I smacked her around some more, putting her on the ropes--grappled her, hit a 619...but Shadow keep spinning around, hitting another 619 kick, then a third one when Clemens was knocked down to the bottom rope!

Shadow vaulted up, landing gingerly on her feet as Clemens started to get up in a groggy daze--hammer throw to the corner--

LETHAL MOVE--the Hades Drop, which is where Shadow looks like she's going to do a top rope Rock Bottom, but kind of combines it with a twisting moonsault, slamming Clemens hard in the center of the ring. Shadow straddles Clemens' chest for the 1, 2, 3.

Gripes with the game--short on grapple moves, no CAW or online mode. Weapons kind of suck, too. The girls swing them like Lance Storm. Oh, taking out the cheat allowing you to play as either alter ego (was in the Jpn version) kind of sucks.

Mud matches are utterly shameless but fun. I played a friend and hit a top rope moonsault onto him from the top of the beach chair while he was standing out on the outside of the ring. He tried to repay the favor later on, but I ran up the ladder to the chair, armdragged her off, and hit a moonsault in the center of the mudring for the pin. :D

In the old Royal Rumble game on SNES me and my friends played a tag team match and we focused on Ric Flair so much that eventually he just left! Seriously he went down the aisle and never came back.

I was playing Firepro 2 as Paul London and i fought Spanky. He went for some type of Rollup from my shoulders and I countered it into the Waffleface and rolled up him up for the win.

Myself and my friend have been Puroresu, and wrestling game fans since we met each other online four years ago. Even before we knew each other, we ran "Feds" in video games, and such. When we met each other, we both opened up what they call "V-feds" and started all that funs hit.

Tonight, we fired up Zsnes for the first time in about six months and waged war in Jikkyou Power Pro Wrestling 96' in REAL(Shoot) matches and Electrified Barbwire Landmine Deathmatches. In one of the Shoot matches, he picked a little Japanese shooter from REAL named "Makoto" while I picked a burley Russian dude. The end of that match came when after I ate 60 high kicks, I spammed Belly to Belly Suplexes, then hit Three Fisherman Suplex's, and killed him dead with a High Angle Fisherman Buster for the 10 count.

In a session we just ended, we had Bandou (aka Onita) and this Gladiator rip off guy fight in a long bloody death match for the BOM title. End came when I whipped him into the barbwire, then Jumping Powerbombed him to hell for the win. Wolf..whatshisname never got to a V1 defense, as he fought my friend's created character from the career mode. Highlight of the match was both of us hitting 10 bombs ATLEAST, multiple insane suicide dives, and the best highlight of the entire night. I was on the apron, and took off running...I planned to stop, but didn't and cracked my head on the ring post. I fell off...

and landed on a bomb.

I spent a full minute on the floor pushing buttons, before finally going "...Pick me up, I'm dead.". Within two minutes after hitting the ring I was dead and we had a Shin Champion. We fought a rematch, but the result was the same and I was polished off to give his "Man with no name" a V1 defense.

Next, I picked a masked ninja submission dude, and was KILLED for 10 minutes, only getting brief bursts of offense here and there from using the only good mvoe the guy seemed to have, a Moonsault Footstomp. He finished me off with a Fireball > Moonsault combination to end the fairly onesided affair.

In the next bout, I picked Bandou, figuring his chance at a title shot had come. For 15 minutes, we traded headbutts, illegal attacks, suicide dives, rope hits, and insane bomb spots. I Thunder Fire Bomb'd him on the floor, and he rolled to get up...only to hit TWO BOMBS at once, effectively rendering him dead. In the ring, I hit three rapid succession Thunder Fire Bombs to crown a new champion.

After that match, the rematch was shaping up to be intense. My friend charged the ring before the bell with a lariat, I avoided and began to headbutt him. He fought back and finally the bell rang. He got me down and proceeded to boot Bandou in the crotch ten times before I rolled out of the ring. Once out there, I promptly hit a bomb, he came out and dragged me into a second one. I fought back, but hit a third, leaving me hurt. Inside the ring we went, and we traded some more. He backed away, and I charged. He charged at the last second and CREAMED me with a Jumping Knee, and covered for a joke.

...Only...Bandou didn't kick out. By a fucking JUMPING KNEE in TWO MINUTES FOURTY FIVE SECONDS. The king of BOM, KO'd by a goddamn knee to the face. We laughed for a couple minutes, and have retired Bandou from our competitions due to severe brain injures from eating a shoot knee to the goddamn face.

After that, we ran an intense slugfest in a Shoot match. He was SHIINA, aka Akira Maeda, while I was...some Russian dude named Kaiser. From the opening bell, we were beating the ungodly shit out out of each other with kicks, with me nearly getting a KO from a high kick two minutes in. SHIINA fought back, and used rapid submissions to keep me at bay. At around the eleven minute mark, the bout was fairly even, with a few falls on each side, and I went for a high kick...Only for SHIINA to kick me in the gut with a middle kick, doubling me over for the ten count in a bizarre finish.

Fuun shit overall.

In No Mercy, I was fighting Cactus Jack in a hardcore match as Muhammad Hassan (CAW). Foley was being a bitch and kept getting barbed wire 2x4's. So when I got the upper hand, I stacked all the barbed wire 2x4's I could find onto the announce table and gave him the Crimson Jihad (flatliner) through all of it for the win.

One time in Fire Pro D for Dreamcast I was controlling RVD and the Rock against a CPU controlled tag team (can't remember who...might've been the Road Warriors). Anyway, it was a serious back and forth match, fought under 2/3 falls rules. I took a fall, the other team won a fall...and then about twenty minutes into the third round, I was controlling RVD and...

got counted out on the top rope! The ref counted to five, while I was waiting for someone to get up outside the ring! Probably the most embarassing loss I've ever suffered in FPD.

Oh well, I won the return match, IIRC.

I also once ran a series of matches between Alexander Karelin and Andre the Giant. Those were pretty brutal. IIRC, the first one was an octagon cage match that Karelin won pretty easily via knockout (I think after a couple Karelin lifts off the mat). The second was an exploding steel cage match that Andre won (explosion occured and Karelin was knocked out while Andre was left standing). The third was an SWA rules match where Karelin lost when he couldn't get up in time from a standing 10 count. Always fun when you put two guys with contrasting styles against each other like that.

Fire Pro 1 on the GBA, CPU Kevin Nash vs CPU Goldberg.

Goldberg wails away on Nash the entire match. Goes for the Jackhammer, hits it, only gets 2. Both men stay down after the kickout. Nash gets up, goes for the cover, 1, 2, 3.

I was in shock.

I just went on a tear last night on Fire Pro D. For fun I was using Karl Gotch in a series of matches. I had a very competitive match against Lou Thesz, finally making him submit to an armbar. Then Gotch went on fire, CRITICALing Inoki, Andre, and Giant Baba all in consecutive matches. Baba gave Gotch some trouble, but he made him submit to a sort of cross facelock. He also wrestled Rikidozan who gave him some trouble, but Gotch ended up knocking him out after two consecutive piledrivers in the octagon.

Finally, Gotch was CRITICALed by Alexander Karelin after about 12 minutes in the octagon, following a series of Karelin Lifts. It was a fun series of bouts.

Anyone know where I can find a translation patch for in Jikkyou Power Pro Wrestling 96? My little note is that it's still fun to use the giant swing in Tecmo Pro Wrestling or just even read the hilarious Engrish. I think some of them were originally based on real Puro wrestlers, though. Akira Dragon has the Octo Stretch and the enziguri, and there's a guy named El Tigre who seems to be Tiger Mask

Tecmo Pro Wrestling (or was it Tecmo World Wrestling?...I can't remember) was a very fun game. I had a friend who basically had every NES wrestling game at one point, and I borrowed that one from him a lot. Some of the guys definitely were based on real life wrestlers. Inoki and Tiger Mask were definitely in there. I believe there was a Hulk Hogan type guy, IIRC. What was with Dr. Guido though? He was pretty unique.

Not so much a spot but I created the best wrestler ever for Smackdown HCTP.

I made Jesus Christ on the game. I gave him a brown robe to wear. He wore sandals to the ring. His entrance had him coming up through the stage ala the brood. The titan tron video was for Christian of course.

His manerisms entering the ring was based off of Raven's crucifixion pose on the turnbuckle. All of his moves were defensive since Jesus would never strike somebody. His finisher was the Iron Claw which was called "The exorcism".

Yeah, I am so going to hell for that creation.

Vampiro69: Aren't you the one who had the Batman vs. Jesus match up screens in your sig, then?

All of his moves were defensive since Jesus would never strike somebody.

Actually, he whooped some money changers' asses.

Nope I never had anything that refered to Batman vs Jesus. That would be great to see though.

Glad I could provide some laughs for you all.

Well I was playing an elimination tag match the other day in SDvRaw. I was HHH and Undertaker taking on Kurt Angle and Kane. Angle started the match and never tagged out to Kane. I gave him the pedigree and went for the pin and then switched over to control Taker to stop Kane from breaking up the pin. Kane got in the ring but didn't make the save, instead he focused on me as Taker. Well when the ref got finished counting to 3 on Angle he got up and started forcing me out of the ring. Well while that was happening HHH walked up behind Kane and did that move where he kicks the person's leg out from under them. He then went for the pin and got it. I got a really good laugh out of that one. Even in video games HHH is burying people....

Played WCW/nWo Revenge as I was Dean Malenko up against Chris Benoit, and it was an awesome match.

Around the 10th minute mark I got my special and I locked on the Texas Cloverleaf, but Benoit wouldn't tap. It seemed after the submission, Benoit went on a little tear, and nailed the Diving Headbutt from the top rope. I got up slowly, and he goes for a chop, countered with a backslide pin and I win with the 1-2-3. Benoit gets up and realizes he lost. It was awesome.

I was playing a four-way elimination match in King of Colisseum II. You can't have more than two human controlled players (or at least we couldn't figure out how if you can) so it was myself and my friend Chad playing against two level five difficulty computers. I was Misawa. Chad was Chono, I believe. The computers were Kobashi and Muto. We knew how to do powerball moves and shit, but we couldn't figure out how to do the top rope powerball moves. Then, out of left field, Muto hits Chad with a powerball Shining Wizard, then a powerball Mutasault. It got the three count. I laughed really hard.

Later on, we did figure out how to do the top rope powerball moves. So, I have started to use Kobashi a lot more since I'm a mark for his moonsault.

In Wrestlemania 19, My brother once beat me with an arm drag. I didn't play him in that game for about a week after that incident.

I used to set shitty, basic moves as my finisher in No Mercy. It was comedy to have a long, drawn out match with a friend where you struggle to build up a special the entire match. Then, when you finally connect with it, it's something like a side headlock or a body slam. :D

I refuse to let this thread die.

last night I was playing DoR as Roderick Strong against Samoa Joe. I worked over Joe's back the whole match. Joe's back was in the red, which means any move affecting that area will be no sold. I keep hitting Joe with backbreaker after backbraeker after backbreaker, but he just no sells them.

Joe starts getting a flurry of slaps, chops, and kicks. While I'm getting up from all this, Joe does his special taunt. I run and kick Joe in the face and I knock him out. It was hilarious how he sold the kick too.

I was watching 2 of my friends play SD vs. Raw in an elimination chamber. They were obviously the final 2, as Jimmy Snuka and Tajiri. It was actually pretty crappy until the finish where Tajiri hit the Buzzsaw kick and Snuka bladed... In real time it looked like Tajiri kicked all of Snuka's teeth out.

King of the Ring (One of my favorite things about No Mercy) semi's as my Carlito CAW against Essa Rios.

Like a typical Carlito match, I spend the first five minutes of the match getting my ass handed to me, and that's when I decide to win: CARLITO's WAY~! I slide out of the ring for a breather, inciting Rios to jump out of the ring at the count-out time of 5. I dodge the hell out of the way, knocking Rios down temporarily and allowing me the upper-hand. I do a half-nelson slam at 9 and get in the ring as Essa's counted out. It almost seemed like an actual Triple C match.

I loved to get cheap wins like that in No Mercy :D especially in season mode. Like grabbign weapons and standing in front of my CPU opponent so hell grab it and perhaps hit me while trying to throw it away and get dqd

I once played special Ref as Lita during a match with Matt Hardy vs Dean Malenko (this was abck during their feud in late 2000), towards the end with both guys beat up I grabbed a ringbell and waited. I went like I was going to go for Dean but instead jumped and NAILED Matt in the head with the bell, knocking him out and doing a fast 3 count. That felt like a real heel turn. Weird enough I did the saem thign again later with Edge as the opponent. Cool pyschic powers, or maybe WWE is bugging my house.

gotta mention the ladder in regualr matches code again. I once won amatch with Essa Rios by doing his moonsault special off the top of the ladder in the ring. the replay looked so awesome, I recorded it on my vcr.

Nothing special, but I was doing a ladder match in No Mercy, put them in the Tree of Woe, climbed the ladder, and did a moonsault onto them WHILE they were in the tree of woe. It looked SICK
