Kizzo Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Is he the new replacement for Lillian Garcia or just a temporary one....???
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 They've been using him off and on for a while now. http://www.jjroberts.com/
Silence Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 I think it's Justin Roberts. He's done ring announcing for WWE for maybe 2 years now, but a while back, it seemed like it was every once in a while when he'd show up. As for now, I'm not sure if Lillian's being replaced by him yet. Edit: Damn it Rudo, you beat me to it.
zyn081 Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Didnt he used to every now and then replace Tony Chimel? :S I think they are using them so it automatically clicks in ones mind that Lillian is off cavorting somewhere with Big Vis.
Slickster Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Quite a career this guy has had, seeing as how he has done ring announcing since 1999 (when he was 20).
Guest Rrrsh Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 He is very good, and since Lillian proved she can actually act, they might make keep her at her new role.
Kizzo Posted June 30, 2005 Author Report Posted June 30, 2005 Looking at his site......he has done some interesting things.... I also stumbled upon a pic of Dave Lagana Smackdown's head writer....
The Metal Maniac Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I hate that guy. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I could swear I've heard him forget to anounce a wrestler's hometown or weight on more then one occasion. I mean, did the Fink die? Fuck every announcer who's not him.

Jingus Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Fuck every announcer who has a job while I still don't.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Bah. Justin is doing a Fink impression rather than being a unique announcer. He's the Bruce Buffer of the WWE. I'd rather have someone like the PRIDE ring announcer ("Maaariioooo Sperrryyyyy-ooOOOOh") who plays around and is distinctive.
Guest Rrrsh Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Ring Announcer who get too "distictive" can just sound dumb. Its a fine line.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I prefer Chimel and the Fink. It varies though. I prefer Chimel's call of Austin or The Rock. I prefer Fink's call of the Hitman or Undertaker.
Art Sandusky Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 This new dude makes me think I'm watching an indy tape or something.

He was the best ever. For the thousands in attendance and the millions at home . . . Was he told to get the hell out of there when DGX was formed, just so they would have a kinky catchphrase?
Dips Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Why doesn't the Fink announce anymore? They should use him for the PPVs at least or the main event at PPVs to make it seem more special.
Enigma Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 They use Fink on the Big 4 PPVs, but they use either Garcia or Chimel at the brand-specific PPVs.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Ring Announcer who get too "distictive" can just sound dumb. Its a fine line. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So it's better to play it safe and be like everyone else? Hey, you just described life as a WWE superstar!~
TheFranchise Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 This the guy who announced Carlito as the 'challenger' and then Benjamin as the 'challenger' last Sunday?
Guest jm29195 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 But isn't Michael Buffer the king of all announcers- or at least the most famous? He was even the boss in that Ready 2 Rumble boxing game on the dreamcast- what was his bckground, did he start with WCW or was he brought in at a later date?
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I can't believe Michael Buffer is getting all this attention and my Bruce Buffer comment goes completely unnoticed. No. Wait. I can believe that.
King Cucaracha Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Buffer (Michael) only did WCW main events though, so he had 'big-match' protection. And got to make 3 minute intros. The rest of the time it was David "can somebody please turn my microphone up" Penzer.
Fartsauce Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 We shouldn't be so hard on the guy. Lillian fucked up quite a bit when she started. I'm sure Fink when he started in the early 80's fucked up a bit (mind you he had taped tv to edit any blunders) I'd say give this guy time.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 You know what ring announcer I liked, yet don't know the name of? The guy who did the L.A. Portion of WrestleMania 2. For some reason, he had this good over the topness that worked for ring announcing.

That was two years after she debuted in WWE, too.
