Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Haha, we'll talk further about this (and in less of a boastful manner) when there's a real College Football preseason thread. I'm suspending myself from talking about the upcoming real-life season on here until we've got a thread-thread up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm doing the same. Just wanted to take a friendly jab, is all. Hey Bored, when are you gonna release your Bored Championship Series rankings during the season?
Bored 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Immediately after Week 1 is complete, although they'll hardly mean anything until about Week 5 or 6.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 How long until you can put together a season schedule? I want to see who I get to whup up on in OOC play since I already know I'm going to smear Dama and Kotz again in Big South play to retain my title. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not so fast my friend! I've hired a sports handicapper this year! You're going down!
Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 And I'll be making my picks solely based on which mascot I prefer/which one I think will win in a fight. Of course, the 87 Tiger teams might prove difficult to formulate a pick when playing each other. And Tulsa vs. Tulane. Golden Hurricane or Green Wave? <Here would have been a tsunami joke were I more of a bad person>
Bored 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 If it's a toss up between mascots then just pick the team with the prettier uniform for a tiebreak.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 If it's a mascot battle then OU would run away with the Big 12 b/c we'd just show up early before the game and claim both endzones so you can't score.....of course those damn Iowa State Cyclones could just blow us right out of the endzone. But really if it was a mascot battle what chance do all the Aggie teams have? And Oregon/Oregon State? That'd be a weird fight.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I'd always choose a beaver over a duck.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 What's weird about a duck fighting a beaver? They're both little animals that spend a lot of time in the water. At least for an Ohio State/Iowa game, you'd have to figure out what the hell the mascots are.

I suppose you could just use a Hawk for Iowa.....even though they're the Hawkeyes but the mascot is a hawk. And OSU.....ummm.......a giant tree just drops buckeyes on you? Bored 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 Okay you are in for the moment but I can't gaurentee your spot until an additional person signs up as I need to have an even number of teams. Sign ups are open thru August 8th so imagine at least one more person will sign up between now and then. If by chance no one else signs up then I'll put you on the back up list for when/if anyone drops out during the season.

Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 I'd love to get in on this as Michigan State if at all possible?
Bored 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 CarnivalizComing you are in as you are 34th sign up, also means DragonLordKaiba is officially in. Crimson Platypus you are the waiting list for the moment. If one more person signs up by next Monday, you are in. Also if one more person signs up I'll add an 8th bowl game. I'm going on a cruise this weekend so I won't be around to update the list if anyone signs up.
Bored 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2005 Alright sign ups are closed. No 36th team signed up so Crimson Playtpus will be left off but will have the first opportunity to take over any team that goes on "probation." Speaking of "probation" I've changed the rules regarding forfeits this year. When a team doesn't submit their picks for the week I won't automatically give their opponent a win like I did last year. This season if a team has not submitted their picks by Saturday morning I will use the picks of team ranked in the spot below them in the BCS rankings for their picks that week. For example if the #15 team does not submit their picks I'll use the #16 team's picks. I will only use the Saturday picks and not the Thursday/Friday picks. If the that same team does not submit picks the next week and gets put on "probation" I will use the same team's picks (#16 team) that I used the previous week for the rest of the season for that team (#15 team) unless they are taken over by a new poster. Reason why I changed it up this year is because it scewed the standings too much with those teams who got zero's for their picks those weeks. Also this will allow a similar strength opponent to make up for that team's picks for the whole year instead of a case like last year where Vern Gagne, who won the contest, took over Boise State. Teams that do go on "probation" will not be eligible for postseason play, unless they are taken over by a new poster. I hope that made sense. I'll start working on the schedule and hopefully have it up in the next couple of days.
