Smackdown VS Raw 2006

OJs finisher si listed as the blackout? whats that his flatliner or something else? I know his flatliner used to be called "Black Ice" back when he started as a face on Velocity (where he made his wwe debut, not on smackdown dumbass thq)

I think the black out is a rear-naked-chokehold, no?

Apparently the official name is 'cobra clutch with body scissors', which sounds about right. If you remember Rodney Mack and his White-Boy Challenge, the Black Out was the submission he used.

The Black Out in this game is referring to Jordan's complete shot I believe. Must be different than Hassan's.

To people who have been watching these videos: How are the new move animations? And have you seen any new moves? Thanks.

As far as new moves. I haven't noticed any thing major yet (no big Indy moves that is)

Just some I remember:

Danny Basham has a spinning Baldo Bomb

Eugene has a new People's Elbow

Shelton has a Cobra Clutch into a backbreaker, and his T-Bone Powerslam move

New Tornado DDT

Press Slam into a backbreaker

Standing Gord Buster

Paul London has his dropsault (as a striking move)

Lita has a new Snap DDT finisher.

alot of new smaller redone moves like arm submissions, half crabs

Some of the new animations are good (Edge's stalking spear for one) but some are actually worst IMO, like The Dudley Dog, Big Show's chokeslam. They are motion capped and seem to lack any real impact.

Alright, thanks for helping me out. I'm REALLY hoping for a top rope doublestomp for my Low Ki.

Complete Shot pretty much = Downward Spiral, correct?

Yep. Exactly it, except Edge adds in a leg hook or something.

I'm with UYI. That Jericho > last year's.

And did they just use the exact same RVD model as last year, except after editing ring gear? Not that I'm complaining. As long as he still does the 'Steamroller' or whatever it's called.

Yeah, I think Jericho looks great, his tights and all are spot on...

I've been worried in general that many of the moves seem to not have enough impact.

Hmm.. let's hope for the best.

That Roberts thing is bullshit...why couldn't they put one of the three Hogans on the PSP for the collectors, rather than someone I'd actually like to use.

Because Hogan = ratings $$$. Anyway, people would probably be less likely spend money on a third Hogan when they already have two, as opposed to buying Jake Roberts.

Unless it was Hollywood Hogan, actually.

I just hope there's a way around the whole PSP thing.

Most likely, a gameshark code.

Jericho's finishers are both the Walls...but different versions? I hope one is the Liontamer...though I am left wondering why the hell there are AT LEAST three versions of the Walls to begin with. What the hell else can you do? It's either the shitty WWE Crab or the WCW Tamer... there isn't much else to do with it.

Unless one version involves sitting back on it and dropping your knee into their head... I don't care.

Well, I'm disappointed that Batista is still lacking updated tights, but I'll get over it. For those who watched Batista's entrance, does he have the pyro?

Edit: BTW, looking at the Season mode write-up above, if you go through the pictures, you can also see Bret. Still the same tights as the last game (pink top, black pants), but those were my favorites anyway, so I'm fine with it.

I loved the "glass ceiling" reference in the writeup on Batista. I think that there are a few smarks at IGN.

IGN once had a wrestling subsite. They had a good site. You would have quality show reviews two hours after every Monday night show.

Jericho finally looks right. I don't recall his hair flowing quite that well before.

Re: Batista.

We still don't know who has alternate attires, he could have another wrestling outfit, as can some of the others with questionable gear. I'd kill for that orange and white attire he wore earlier in the year and hasn't since.

He has pyro, but his entrance is that awkward dance and muscle flex pose he did before switching to the machine gun thing.

And the Batista Bomb in the video SUCKS.

The forearm to knock your opponent off the apron is shit. Maybe the vibration will change how I feel about it, but just looking at it, it looks weak.

Batista: the Bomb isn't auto-pin. Still looks pretty weak, though. Is there a video of the Sit-Out Powerbomb that's his second finisher?

JBL: FALLAWAY SLAM FROM HELL. I love that move. If his Powerbomb looks like that in the game, I will be happy.

Season: I didn't watch the cage match video, so I'm happily surprised by being able to crawl out of the cage. Best way to win. And nothing like a smoke-filled Taker entrance.

So legends are a part of the season mode. Jimmy Hart is involved with Christian in the diary and lmao Christian is fighting Bert Hart. This season mode is going to be huge, can't wait. Also JBL's entrance rules.

Man, they got Batista's entrance horribly wrong. :( I hate to be pessimistic but it looks like Here Comes the Pain might still be the US next gen. game to beat.

Maybe someone will make an awesome wrestling game of some sort for xbox360 this spring *I can hope*

TNA is supposed to be working a vid game deal, so who knows what could come of that...(I get wrestling games for the gameplay, moveset, and create a character function more than anything else :))

I'll probably give SvR2 a rental, just like I did the first one...and also probably return it a week early like the first one. :(
