4hartthreat 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Has anyone tried the GM Mode/Jake Roberts draft trick yet? I completed the Mode and couldn't find any legends on the draft list. Maybe I'm missing something.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah I tried it too. I'm pretty sure it was a lie. You can only take someone off the opposing show and the only way Jake could get onto the other show would be to unlock him. If anyone finds an actual way to unlock Jake without the psp please post it for everybody.

Unless they only show up if you start a new GM Mode game (since I unlocked them during the process of one that was already going). One guy also told me, now, that you have to win GM Mode twice - once with SD and once with RAW. It all seems way too convoluted to me...
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 I am having difficulty doing a possum pin. The description makes it sound like you can hold circle and press either L@ or R2 in advance and see what your opponent does, but that doesn't seem to work. When I tried doing it like a normal counter (waiting for the attack) but holding O, I still failed... and I guessed right. Hassan went to grapple my head, I was holding circle and pressed R2. I lost my stored finisher, but did not counter the move or do a possum pin. Guess I need to keep trying.

Then you can get them as free agents. Thank god too, before I got Hogan and Bret Hart the other GM was kicking my ass.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 I think my problem in GM mode is I'm booking like I would in EWR... basic shows with the idea of building to gimmick matches on PPV. Clearly I should just stop doing this since the other GM books gimmick matches left and right and the world title seems to change hands every other week. If it becomes too much of a chore to win, I think I'll just use the mode as a multi-player thing with a friend. It is certainly an interesting addition though and I don't fault it for what it is... I fault myself for sucking at it.

Eclipse 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 The light of the full moon reveals you as a gimmick poster and not a pure hearted maiden! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I popped HUGE because of this poster. Who would have known that TUXEDO MASK plays this!?? Anyways, back on topic. I had a feeling that GM Mode would be unrealistic. It should be like EWR or Promotion Wars. I was watching my friend play the game, and everytime he beat out the opposite brand, it was because his card was stacked with a HUGE AMOUNT of gimmick matches. The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 This game is pretty good. I've lost 1,500,000 fans from my RAW brand as the show is being solely carried by Cena, Trish, Christian, and Edge. My idea for the jobber show has gone well, as I've built up a few guys. Have a decent Heidenreich/Snitsky feud, and Masters/Conway feud. Put the tag titles on London and Tajiri and they're feuding with Hassan and Daivari. Plus I figured out how to make both wrestler's popularity go up regardless of match outcome. I played a good even match with Christian and London, about 15 minutes long. Just have a long match that goes back and forth, and always have blood involved. Finish it usually with someone countering the opponents finisher, and immediatley hitting their own.

Aero 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 The last challenge I have left for Rising Star is to reverse the casket door. I just can't do it. I've been beating the opponent down and then letting him throw me in the casket. It directs you to tap L2 or R2, and the instruction book says only R2... I've tried both but am having zero luck. Any tips? Or should I just keep trying one of those?

(It'll save you the trouble of going through a whole match, just to fail). And basically..you just hit R2 when the little symbol gets in the blue area. It gets in that area at like 1 1/2 seconds...just time it right and it'll get done. (It doesn't matter whether you hit R2 or L2). When you hit the button doesn't the icon stop? Or are you just really late all the time...?

Reversing the casket door is during the part where you're supposed to be using the R analog stick, right? That's what I've been trying, but I guess I'll try it the other way for the heck of it. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 What is the file size? The memory card discussion in the CTDWAT made me realize I'm not playing with much space left (though some stuff could be deleted). I remember JBI's god-awful 4MB+ save size... that was a pain, both in terms of taking up card space and the time it took to save / load games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd actually like to know this as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Someone answer. And has anyone taken it online yet? How's it play?
Silence 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Getting DQed because the fucking ref is in the way of a running strike is getting discouraging and tedious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I also hate how the A.I. in the Elimination Chamber is stupid enough to break up pins, despite the match not being determined by whoever gets a pinfall/submission first like Triple Threat and Fatal 4-Way matches are. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 Well I was gonna rent it, but I did have enough cash left so I bought it at blockbuster last (friday) night. Played somewhat. started a gm mode for raw played 2 weeks, starting a IC title feud with Regal (champ) vs stevie richards (for fun). Had a 32 minute no dq/co tag match with Eugene/Shelton vs Bashams (my tag champs) Tag matches are frustrating again a s the partner always breaks up the pins no matter what you try. apprantly I suck as sd is getting higher ratings, though my week 1 Benoit vs Eddie (me)single match main event somehow got 3 stars despite it being really sucky (whos rating these matches?) the next week I only played the main event cage match with eddie vs benoit (eddies my wwe champ) and benoit (me) won it buried alive is HARD it took me 18 minutes as Taker to beat Daivari (well it was my frist try) cuz ieverytime I got him in the casket, he kept escaping. FYF is lame and boring I as Trish beat Christy with a pillow shot to finish her off (though the celebration cutscene of Trish hitting her with a pillow and feathers comign out of it was funny) the commetary is ok, and I noticed that both shows teams take many shots at the other show
Guest Tuxedo Mask Report post Posted November 20, 2005 The save file size is 1.2 MB (in that area). Some of the commentary inconsistencies are annoying. Like, RVD is referred to sometimes as Mr. Thursday Night, but when I was playing a match with Batista, Cole said Batista would make a good addition to "Friday nights", which is not only odd since parts of the game act like SD! is still on Thursday, but Batista IS ON SMACKDOWN. I don't know if the Thursday/Friday problem pops up anywhere else (maybe GM mode? I didn't carefully check what day SD! was running). Certainly not a reason to hate the game, but it is kind of odd. Guest Prodigy Report post Posted November 20, 2005 I've only played one game online and it was pretty good. It was a Triple Threat match with Rey(me) vs Christian vs RVD. It lagged a bit, but was bearable. My username is SpotMonkey if anyone wants to play. *edit* My second match was completely lag free. It was Christian(me) vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Masato Tanaka. We had to have a rematch as Tanaka accidenty got himself DQ'd for punching the ref. The finish was when I monkey flipped Tanaka then Shelton hit the exploder on me for the win. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 I played a Raw season as Benoit. Lost the Tag Team Title match (at Taboo Tuesday?) with Eugene and then lost the ladder match at Survivor Series for Trish's contract, making everything until that point worthless. Won the Royal Rumble, and then did the fairly fun HHH storyline and beat him in a Hell in a Cell. Yeah, putting him through the cell was a nice sight but that wasn't nearly as cool an ending as HCTP's was. Completely underwhelming stuff. I loved the cut scenes but there weren't enough. What did I miss by failing the Eugene storyline? Playing a hard difficulty SmackDown season as Chavo right now and it seems pretty fun thus far. Besides my Eugene storyline question, I have others. What "superstar-specific" storylines are there? And what Legends are available to use in Season. I have to get on season so I can destroy you all with my CAW of Smaffles, the Pimping Bear. Anya 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 You just win Trish's contract and that's it. The story ends there anyway. I think Hogan, Foley and Austin are the only legends you can use in story mode. I don't think there are any actual character specific storylines. It's just that if you are someone involved in a major story(like Eddie with the urn) you won't get that path with him, you'll get something like legend tour instead. So I took my aggression out on Torrie Wilson afterward. Now starting the "Urning Your Spot" storyline, I already heard about "the death of Latino Heat" at the end and am kind of interested and also disgusted at the same time.
