Guest Smues Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Here's a side question: Mariotti keeps saying Tony K. hates him -- is this legit? If so, what was said to start this?... Yeah it's legit. Kornheiser has mentioned on his radio show several times that he hates Mariotti and that he's a lying weasle. I don't know the full story but Tony has said several times that Mariotti lied to him about not wanting some job of Tony's and then taking it. And I guess a few years ago one of the people who works on Tony's radio show, I think he said it was the producer at the time, was at a bar drinking and there was Mariotti bashing the hell out of Kornheiser to whoever he was talking to.
Mik Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Looks like suspicions were correct. Stephen A. Smith has gotten his own show. It's called Quite Frankly and it will be on 6:30 ET. Just saw a commercial during Sportscenter.
Guest *KNK* Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 ESPN is just now poker and talk shows. It's a shame FOX sucks so bad that ESPN is still the only attractive national sports themed channel.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 Here's a question: A few times now ESPN has had this hippie "Hot Topics" show that I guess also airs on ESPN News instead of ATH at 5 p.m. Is there a reason for this? (ATH was on yesterday so I'm hoping this was a case of they couldn't get four talking heads...)
MikeJordan23 Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 The TEAM IS BACK. Oh and PTI has now been extended to an extra 10 minutes from now on
treble Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Which sucks, since TSN's not going to cut into Off The Record's time to show the last part of the show.

(ATH was on yesterday so I'm hoping this was a case of they couldn't get four talking heads...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Usually they do that (show whatever is on ESPN News) on a day where they aired a game of some kind which was scheduled to go to 2:30 and it ended early.
Guest Smues Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 The TEAM IS BACK. Oh and PTI has now been extended to an extra 10 minutes from now on <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well really it's been extended an extra 2-3 minutes, you just have to wait through 6 minutes of sportscenter to see it.
cabbageboy Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'm glad someone else brought up Dana Jacobson seriously bringing her dating/sexual frustrations out on Cold Pizza. Note that she was hitting on Woody and not Skip Bayless....this tying into my theory on Bayless being gay. Skip Bayless seems like a woman hating faux chauvanist pig who is actually doing it to hide being gay. Anyone else agree? And yes, Jason Whitlock sucked on PTI....but then that isn't news to anyone who has ever watched Sports Reporters.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'm not watching SportsCenter to see the final segment of PTI...
Guest Smues Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'm not watching SportsCenter to see the final segment of PTI... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't blame you. I wonder if they're using this overlap to get more people to watch Sportscenter who watch PTI, or to get more people who watch Sportscenter to watch PTI.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'd say the former, unless all the shows before SportsCenters, sans sporting events and repeat SportsCenters, are getting this treatment...
The Czech Republic Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Stay tuned to Robin Hood for the Big Finish! Will Stat Boy point out an error in THE BIGGEST PTI OF OUR GREAT SPORT?
therealworldschampion Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 But yeah, he's terrible on PTI. In fact, I think everyone but Wilbon and Tony are lousy on the show. I don't mind Smith and Marriotti on ATH, but for some reason, everyone but the actual hosts seem wooden and unnatural on the show. Actually, the Kornheiser-Norman Chad episodes were pretty damn good in my opinion...
