Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted July 16, 2005 You'd think that wouldn't need repeating, but sadly it does. That guy has cost them a lot of games...
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Dale Svuem felt he owed us for that bullshit strike call on Bernie in the 2nd inning; pretty much changed the inning.

Cartman 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Noone outside of Boston cares about the Red Sox anymore? Maybe you should pay attention to the ROAD games attendance for the Sox this year. There have been countless road games this year where Sox fans almost outnumber the home team's fans. There are loads of Red Sox fans all over the country. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 The Red Sox are wannabes, with their road attendance talk. That's so 1998.
Mik 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 I can not believe the Yankees are so desperate that they traded for Al Leiter. He has been nothing short of God awful this year - quite possibly the worst starting pitcher in all of the Major Leagues. Yeah, good luck with that guys. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 What else can they really do though? They don't have much in the line of trading chips, so they have to throw shit at a wall and hope it sticks.
devo 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Holy damn. ... Well, best of luck to Al. I can't imagine pitching for the Yankees will help him any, though.
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted July 16, 2005 "What else can they really do though? They don't have much in the line of trading chips, so they have to throw shit at a wall and hope it sticks." I'd rather they didn't trade for anyone, but if they would, it should at least be someone who's worth getting. I wouldn't trade a 9 dollar hotdog for Al Leiter. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Well if Leiter doesnt work otu, maybe he can join may and reddign in being the boss' coffeboys or the guys who go get him calzones (sorry for the seinfeld reference) as for the reason they are trying Leiter? WHO ELSE IS AVAILABLE? Oh well at least they won again today and the worst that can happen now is they split the series and keep pace around 2 back. Remember it's not who is in first place in July it's who's there October 2. If they can somehow stay in it till the dn, they may have a shot of taking it, though it wil be tough as both the sox will be there and o's look to be sticking around for the long haul. Hey what ever, so they continue to have problems. I will not abandon my team, but all the bandwagon Yankee fans can feel free to jump off, cuz it's you who give the diehards a bad name. Anyhow back to baseball in general , are they any good games being shown nationally today? I guess a dodger game is being shown on fox here right now, sicne its almost 3. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 A note on Palmeiro. I think the vast majority of writers will vote him in the Hall. There's just a vocal minority of idiots out there. As for Sox/Yankees, I honestly lost my interest in them, in some part because they are no longer the 1-2 teams in baseball. I think it is time to start pushing some new teams on television. Bored 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Supposedly ESPN Radio has reported this trade is about to go through: Red Sox Get: Mike Lowell AJ Burnett Florida gets: Bronson Arroyo Kelly Shoppach Sean Bouroughs SD gets: Abe Alverez Lowell and Bouroughs are both out of the line up today. Coud be other minor leaguers in deal. Trade would be completed when/if contract extension with Burnett is agreed on with Red Sox.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Chris Carpenter had another complete game shutout today against the Astros. The man has been on a tear since the beginning of June. I just hope that his arm is strong enough to last into the post season.
devo 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Well, the Mets only split the series with the Braves, but on the plus side, the Nationals lost three out of four to the Brewers. The Nationals are who the Mets'll be chasing for the Wild Card in about a week anyway.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 A's/Rangers going into thr 14th.........would be big for the A's to take 2 out of 4 and win the series rather then settle for a 2-2- split. If only they were more efficient at bringing runners home....
