I'm watching the West Coast feed and the Eddie bit just ended.

 

This Eddie/Rey "secret" storyline is fucking retarded and can only end badly. There is no way this helps either man.

It's storylines like the Eddie/Rey that really turn me off of WWE these days...can we just see some wrestling and cut out all the extra "shocking soap opera" bullshit??

You have to wonder what WWE has in mind for these guys once this feud ends? The way its looking now is Rey Jr. gets a decisive ppv (possibly Summerslam) win over Eddy Guerrero, and moves on to other things. Rey will flounder around the upper mid card, then probably work the cruiserweight division again to give Paul London a little help against the Mexicools. This leaves Eddy, who will apparently be the father of Rey's son, to do absolutely nothing and be random heel #42-B on Smackdown until the writers come up with another shitty storyline to stick him in.

How do we know the secret is that hes the kids father? I bet WWE hasn't even decided on what it will be yet (much like the higher/greater power). Him being the father is all well and good, EXCEPT for the fact that Dominick looks exactly like Rey (but of course WWE would like you to believe Rey has never unmasked)

 

 

And once again how come no one has complained about the fact that the kid apparantly had no idea Eddie had turned on his father and was beating him up several times on TV. I guess we are to assume Rey didn't let his kids watch that, but whats the chance his son didnt read Sd magazine or somethin?

Anyhoo, I marked for Animal. Indeed a nice beer guy and a nice 80s style promo as well. The crack at Hawk was in bad taste, but in reality nothing more than cheap heat since MNM can't draw any heat on their own (well outside of Melina)

Although Juvi's knee onto London looked sick I loved the match and the crowd seems to love the Mexicools as well. A "lucha libre" chant in the beginning of the match as well.

No really, has there been a decent theory on what the secret is? Everything seems to be either "Eddie is Dominick's real father" or "Eddie is a repressed homo" or "Eddie is a child molester." I have to admit I am intrigued to some extent but I have a feeling that this is going to be really, really BAD when it's revealed. I'm assuming Eddie has to win at the PPV so he can reveal it.

 

No one has ever answered the question I posed a while back: Why are they jobbing Eddie out to Rey so much? Let's face it, Rey is simply not a heavyweight title contender, so giving him all these wins over Eddie doesn't really do much for his upward mobility (we all know Batista would kill Rey, ditto JBL) so I'm baffled as to what the point of this is. Eddie has just turned heel and with a couple of wins he's right back in the title hunt, and unlike Rey he actually could beat someone like Batista. Very odd booking.

Rey almost defeated JBL and he would have if Eddie didn't interfere and attack JBL.

I'm tired of the WWE bringing back legends to squash talented young guys. Animal is a fat, past his prime hoss with nothing better to do than return to WWE. He won't be around for more than two months. Animal should stick to tagging with Rick Steiner at some small bar in the indies where he can be appreciated.

I think their hasn't been any doubt it's leading to "Eddie is dominick's real father" which is why it will probably never be revealed because it's so obvious.

 

This is WWE 101 when it comes to a storyline that just becomes painful to sit through with the only hope being the the big reveal at the end of the feud that we never get.

 

 

I wouldn't hate on Rey for this though.

If he didn't come up with his own storyline he'd just be still stuck tagging with Eddie going absolutely nowhere because the writers just seem to collect their paychecks and come to work solely to tell all the wrestlers 'we have nothing for you right now'

I'd rather him just be tagging and going nowhere but I imagine the guy is just trying to make his job interesting again.
