Games that need to be brought current

I wouldn't mind seeing a new Kid Chameleon game. How about a new Chakan?

I suppose one can keep hoping for a new Kid Icarus game..but I think Nintendo must have something against it, so much so I doubt the original will even be available for the Revolution.

Oh wow I had that game. I haven't played that in like 11 years though.

I thought the original was part of GBA's NES Classic Series...or did it just not leave Japan?

The thing about making a new Kid Icarus is that unless it hits the portable, it's going to almost likely be a 3D platformer, and that might just kill the fun.

I really don't care if it fails, but...Super Baseball 2020 (yes, I mentioned it in another thread). The concept of the game was ahead of its time.

DC had a new Chakan in the works. Cancelled.

There was an SNES Kid Icarus in the works. Ditto.

Never left Japan.

Streets of Rage 4 looked promising, but never was finished because Sega of America are frickin' idiots.

Elements of the game were adapted for use in Blood Omen 2. I'm sure you can find information about it by hitting Google.

Parodius had games during the PS1/Saturn generation, so it's not really that long dead.

If they revive it in Japan maybe it could make its way over here. A goofball shooter parody would probably sell a hell of a lot better than a brutally hard, totally serious shooter that brings nothing new to a series, which by definition will appeal only to a very, very niche audience.

I could never pass the first level. (by the way, that should be "A Week of Garfield" but all I see is "User Posted Image")

A new Double Dragon would be good if it could be more than a generic 3D beat-em up.

I didn't know 3D beat 'em ups were common enough for there to be a "generic" one.

Although I know people probably really want one that's reminiscent of River City Ransom in 3D.

It's good to see the new DS Super Mario Bros. games. A new Mario *platformer?* Why, it's just crazy enough to sell!

The image worked, BTW.

Mutant League was brought up when EA locked down NFL exclusively--EA owns the series, so we'd likely only see if they felt like making a distinctly arcade-style/violent football game and didn't think it would hurt Madden's sales.

The company/game name escapes me, but there's a company making a football game that'll be filled with bikini models and fluff video footage. That's about as close to an "alternative" as well get for now, I guess.

I keep envisioning a GTA:San Andreas without the vehicles and more emphasis on the fighting when I think of a 3D River City Ransom.
