True, but to say that somebody with even a life of luxury is incapable of feeling pain is plain idiotic. Emotional pain and distress is relevant: if you're used to a certain way of life, the slings and arrows of that lifestyle are going to hurt you more than they would somebody used to another lifestyle.

 

Now, that said, I'm going to quote Ken Titus here again, and say STOP BEING A WUSSY.

It's not that they aren't feeling pain, it's that the pain is a product of simply being ungrateful. The fact that they think the only way to relieve the pain is by introducing a more realistic pain is a testament to it being a pathetic manifestation.

You do have a point there, but such is the futility of living in a nation where the poor live in apartments that, while unliveable to most of us, seems like a mansion to much of the rest of the world, and a nation that has the homeless seeking shelter in many churches and especially designated homeless shelters where they are served hot meals instead of having to fend for themselves with no aid, again like much of the world.

 

But going by that logic, almost any pain felt like an American or Canadian or British citizen that is not 100% physical can, unless they are homeless, be construed as being "ungrateful."
