Capers Funnye. WOW. That's like a Marx Brothers name. That's awesome.

As a state senator, Democrat Barack Obama awarded $75,000 in government grants to a Chicago social service organization led by a rabbi who is also his wife's cousin, records show.

See, their complete subjegation under the Zionist conspiracy which rules the world just proves that Barack and Michelle have been secret Muslims the whole time.

Least we not forget that the government encouraged the banks to give out the loans to people who couldnt pay them back under the guise of increased low income/minority home ownership..er..mortgages.

I don't know if you noticed, but people wind up upside down in loans all the time. It happens with cars a lot, even without government interference at all.

Yeah, seriously. I was an idiot when I bought my last car at nearly 10k, after a five year loan I was only able to sell it for less than 1/10th of that.

I understand that people end up upside down on loans all the time, and cars are a good example because people get 5-7 year loans and in the culture today of "things that aren't new and shiny are worthless" feel the need to get a new well before their loan is up. But you cannot equate a car, a boat, or anything else to a home for the plain and simple fact that one of the main facets of the American Dream is to own a home.

Maybe they can get Tina Fey to do it as well.

As for the Townhall Debate thing tonight, Im hoping that there are some really good questions picked.

Of course, the smart people will all claim the same as they did on the VP debate, the while McCain (Biden) won Obama (Palin) didn't totally screw up a lot.

Obama's chances of not stuttering trying to answer questions he wasnt prepared for is pretty good. If he somehow makes it through then I'll be surprised.

Electoral-vote.com has the rules up for tonight's "debate", and it's pretty much going to be impossible for either candidate to win or lose, especially big. The questions are all submitted in advance, neither the moderator nor the person asking is allowed to deviate from the pre-approved question, the mic gets cut off after the question is asked, and neither of the candidates are allowed to debate with each other. As they put it, it's effectively two press conferences happening in the same room.

My favorite part:

In spite of it all, much of the media saw a credible performance. I could quote the hosannas of some of my colleagues, but I spare them the infamy that will surely follow them to their graves. (The debate's moderator, Gwen Ifill, used the occasion to catch up on some sleep.) Many of them judged Palin simply as a performer and inferred that this would go over well in homes with aboveground swimming pools.

Oh, snap.

Also...

Is that you, Uncle Ruckus?

What the hell does "the American Dream" have to do with shit? This is economics. This is numbers. Unlike psychology or sociology there is margin for error in math.

Cars depreciate in value. Homes had been going up and up and up because companies blindly assumed that the bubble would never stop being blown bigger and bigger. Now all these lenders are holding assets nobody wants, and you're complaining that it's because a few people were upside down.

This is a housing adjustment.

Maybe I'm biased, but McCain's already tanking.

Sure, I'd appoint Warren Buffet to lead the Treasury Department, but is his main qualification really "someone people can relate to"?

Posted

Is it weird that I hate Warren Buffet simply because of his last name reminding me of my deep hated for Jimmy Buffet?

If some random 78 year old lady can use the internet, is it too much to expect the 72 year old presidential candidate know how to.

And he's going to keep coming back to the overhead projector now that it came out McCain voted for the Grizzly Bear DNA project.

And Obama's the first to bring up 9/11, only slight surprise of the debate.
