Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 That's kind of interesting that he does that. I'm going to OU football practice today to observe. I think it should be fun and maybe I'll see a nice hit from someone that wants a starting job.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 I still wonder if there's truth to the rumor that Matt Leinart is a disgusting slob but the nicest guy on the team. Well if we're posting practice pics: That's Paul Thompson. Our potential new QB. And Rhett Bomar. THe other.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 I guess there will be no "Tommy Grady era" at Oklahoma? He was a very highly touted QB coming out of California and most wanted him to stay here and go to USC. But he skipped state and went Oklahoma. Seems like he's kind of lost in the shuffle now though. I still wonder if there's truth to the rumor that Matt Leinart is a disgusting slob but the nicest guy on the team. He is a slob. He and his roommate lived in a piece of shit apartment and used to just sit around playing video games all day. He moved into a nicer place this off-season though. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 As far as U of L goes I do believe that Oregon St. game is here at Papa John's so the Cards should be favored. Does Oregon St. still have that really shitty kicker? In terms of what I'm hoping....I'd just like to win the Big East. Just get IN a BCS game, since we got so close last year. In some ways this has to be a transition year so U of L will take a few lumps. First year in the BE, Brohm's first year as starter, not sure about the defense. Now next year....I think we'll be fucking awesome. And get Miami in a rematch here.

The season before, LSU had gotten Ole Miss and Georgia's all-world kickers to blow important field goals that were little more than chip-shots. A few weeks after the Oregon State game, LSU played Auburn at Auburn and HAD gotten the kicker to blow the extra point, but Auburn got to rekick because of a bullshit leaping call against LSU. Really, the only real tough road game you have this year is West Virginia. Pitt and Syracuse have to visit you guys. Of course, the reverse for next year is that you will have to come to Pitt (most of this years starters will be back also for 2006) and Syracuse (which should be much better after Robinson has a year to do some things). I know it's way ahead of time, but are you going to the Pitt/Louisville game in November? I already have my tickets ordered through Pitt.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I guess there will be no "Tommy Grady era" at Oklahoma? He was a very highly touted QB coming out of California and most wanted him to stay here and go to USC. But he skipped state and went Oklahoma. Seems like he's kind of lost in the shuffle now though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No Tommy Grady era. Though he did play in the Orange Bowl.....though it was at the end of the game when he had no shot of winning but hey he still played! He's having serious academic problems and can't even practice right now b/c of how messed up his grades are. He has to finish this August Intersession class he's in to even qualify. So I went to practice today and it was pretty cool. We started outside on the rugby field(my damn field that i practiced on when i played rugby) and then the rain and lightening came and it was like a fucking pick up game being moved. Football players were jumping in the back of each other's trucks or SUV's in full pads driving to the indoor facility. I was at the stop light and there was an Escalade full of OU players next to me with rap music blaring and everyone in the car talking loudly at the same time...I had my windows up and music on and I could hear everything they said! The thing that sucks about these practices is you wonder "Does the defense suck or is the offense really good?" and vice versa. Sometimes you can tell but then there's times where you're like "Good throw......good play from everyone.....what just happened?" I can say though that the scout team QB's suck. I did get to meet a lot of local sports writers though and introduce myself so it was a good day. Oh and I didn't get to finish posting pics earlier because I was at work and had to leave. That's Dusty Dvoracek. The DT that was kicked off the team last season for getting drunk and nearly killing a friend. He's recovering nicely from a bicep tear he suffered in the spring game. That's Paul Thompson setting up a play while scout team/4th string whatever joker looks on in the background. I don't know exactly who's in this pic but it looked cool. That's Dusty helping out like a good team captain instead of getting wasted and attacking someone. And that's AD taking the handoff from the 2nd summer practice and for some reason he still hasn't practiced in pads. Hey you guys should post pics of your teams practices too. I just don't get this, not Grady in particular, but college players in general. How the hell can these guys not pass classes???? They have more tutor opportunities then then next 100 non-athletes have put together. This summer Agim Shabaj was declared academically ineligible and ended up leaving school (and eventually not being picked in the NFL supplemental draft) because of it. How completely fucking stupid do you have to be?
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2005 Well supposedly Grady is transferring anyways to a school in California. The thing is, I seriously doubt that he (and others) is not smart enough, I bet that a lot of these guys simply feel that they shouldn't have to do the work and that's why they fail. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 I'd probably put Florida at #3 too. They have one of the most talented teams in the country, and Urban Meyer has made a living off of taking other people's talented teams and making them into short-term winners. The idea that anyone else is the favorite in the SEC, let alone the SEC East seems foreign to me. I'm not especially good at preseason rankings, but if I did some, they'd go about like this. 1. USC 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. Texas 5. LSU 6. Virginia Tech 7. Miami 8. Tennessee 9. Ohio State 10. Auburn
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Something I noticed about ESPN. How come they got all in a huff when the computers left USC out in 2003 and were like "The human polls should mean more!" So the human polls are changed to mean more and b/c of that Cal is left out and Texas is put in(which in the end appeared to be the right decision) and then ESPN gets all huffy again and is like "the voters are wrong!" And then they get all high and mighty and pull their name off of the poll. What the fuck? They can't have it both ways.

ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 PLEASE, tell me how Florida has more talent than Tennessee or LSU for that matter. They lost two of their best three players from last season and Meyer will NOT win a coaching matchup with Fulmer.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 I'm not going to start anything except mention that OU has not dropped out of the Top 10 since 2000, has finished since 2000 1-4-4-3-3 and will more than likely be a one loss team this year. Screams Top 10. That is all I have to say on the subject.
