Brett @ summerslam?

Recommended Posts

So, Bret Hart can't come out on television and not do a storyline without any soft physicality you are telling me? A simple interference is so beyond Bret's fragile state. Guys the man was moving around on stage here in Toronto doing the Aladdin play  He was doing mock wrestling moves in a ring people.

It's not that he can't do a storyline with no physicality, it's that he won't and has no desire to.

There's never going to be a storyline.

Okay, we'll see! Just like people said HBK was never coming back and countless other things.

Check this site out and then you might get into your head what a stroke is.

I guess my eyes were lying to me when Bret was on TSN sportscenter doing physical moves in a ring on a stage. You guys are acting like the man is a vegetable in a wheelchair. He did a documentary on national television here in Canada on the sports network trying to get into people's head he is not that badly off. Get that into your head!!!!!

BTW, I AM NOT SAYING BRET IS COMING BACK FOR A MATCH FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME!!!!

Google race - first one to find a wrestler that had a stroke and wrestled afterward WINS.

Ready...

Set...

GO!

EDIT: Terry Gordy, 1993.

I remember Foley talking in his first book about how Gordy was never the same after that.

Then what ARE you saying?

You are coming up with some far-fetching fantasy booking scenario that culminates in a match involving Bret Hart and won't let it go, all the while everybody on here is hammering you over the head telling you why it's absolutely impossible.

Look, just because you can walk and do some low-impact physical activity after a stroke doesn't mean you're ready to work a WrestleMania match that is 8 years in the making.

It's not happening. Bret Hart can't wrestle in a WWE ring. Bret Hart doesn't WANT to wrestle in a WWE ring. Bret Hart WON'T wrestle in a WWE ring.

End of story.

Gordy's stroke was down to taking drugs, and I don't believe it was the same type of stroke that Bret suffered. Not that it matters, because Bret isn't coming back to wrestle anyway.

Obviously people have problems reading paragraphs

If you could read between the lines you would see it was hypothetical on what could be a snowball effect in terms of rumours simply from what has transpired recently. Look, it's possible in people's mind the man will even APPEAR on a wwe show this sunday. I was being hypothetical because HBK is having an autobiography released in October and Bret's DVD is coming out around Survivor Series supposedly. Then add in rumours with the HOF and WrestleMania being in Chicago and the 10th anniversay of the ironman match and tell me the damn internet rumours aren't going to get flamed to high heaven. That was the point of my post. I didn't say I thought this was fact or even happening. I'm sure Vince must have seen the big picture as well because it all fits. If he could get away with this he would. People are acting like Vince is some angel who cares about people's health ahead of big money. He was going to release the Bret Hart Screwed DVD for crying out loud before blackmailing Hart to come back in some capacity. Why is it so hard to imagine Vince doesn't have another motive for doing this.

BTW, we got two big egoes clashing on sunday where both men don't like to job. You think Vince might have thought of this and use it to try to get Bret on screen either for SummerSlam? I'm saying if Vince could push his limits he WILL.

Actually, BECAUSE of the egos of Hogan and HBK, I am now damn sure Bret doesn't show up at Summerslam. Do you really think that those 2 are going to allow Bret to come in and scoop their heat? After all they've done to build to this, they are going to let it be about Bret?

That right there should kill the Bret coming in for Summerslam talk.

One Question:

How the hell does anyone on this board know for sure whether or not Bret will appear or wrestle again? Sure, he had a stroke. Sure, he said he wouldn't do angles. But here's the thing: You don't know. I don't mean to toot my own horn but I think I'm the only one who's bringing any sort of factual commentary to this thread.

Let me repeat:

You don't know. No one here has any idea what Bret Hart wants or what he is planning to do because perhaps you can't always trust people's word when their whole careers have been built around their ability to trick the audience into believing that what is fake is real.

Oh, and suppose maybe Bret has always been telling the truth. Don't forget that the truth changes.

I quit too. I even stated in my posts I don't think it's smart to have Bret appear at SummerSlam and I don't think it will happen. The whole post is hypothetical. I do think someone will interfere and it may be HHH. Keep me to that. I say this because of the rumours of Hogan/HHH. It may lead to HHH/Flair as well because of Hogan/Flair in the 80's. They will find something else for HHH to do and do Angle/Cena. HHH and HBK reforming is what I really think might happen.

There's about 3 or 4 people in this thread that are going on it. I'm sick of this stupid shit.

I'm willing to bet anyone that Bret will within the next 12 months will be in a wwe ring in some capacity-he even stated on the Meltzer show, that he doesn't rule out any scenario, but as of right now, he doesn't want to do a referree or maanger role-time will change that, and money-Bret has always been a mark for his own legacy and he will be dragged back in by his fans-

Bret will be back someday-forget the stroke, it has nothing to do with Bret coming back to a WWE ring in some capacity-

And no, the WWE doesn't need to sell Summerslam on some swerve-It was never implied that Bret would be at SS, but they have implied that HBK would screw Hogan-it was just great that the final week before SS that it would be in Montreal-HBK has been going with this storyline for the past month-it gets him some Heel heat..

For what it's worth, HBK vs. Flair is set for Unforgiven, but that may have been scrapped...

I can't believe people are actually discussing this one. I'm going to the show and would love nothing more than to get excited about the Hitman making his return but I know there's 99.9% chance of it happening. If WWE was going to do it they would have had him come out on RAW in Montreal for the mammoth pop, work the angle and have a huge final boost for Summerslam. As mentioned they'd be insane to have him show without promoting it, even for a week. As is, he hates Hogan and Michaels and would not want to work angles with him, he can't get physical because of the stroke and he's said he's only done the DVD so he could have control over the content and stop WWE from releasing a hatchet job on him. Around Hall of Fame time maybe, but he's not coming back now.

He most likely won't be there, but..I have to admit it...it was a genius move for vince and co. it'll definitely garner extra buys. thats what it comes down to, really: how can vince make money. If he thinks people will buy SS b/c Bret might be there, he'll tease it. I'd like to see it though.

I'm not sure how severe Bret's stroke was but as someone whose dad had a stroke that WAS severe I certainly understand why he can't or will not wrestle. A stroke is extremely serious and Bret is lucky to have command on both sides of his body.

I would still like to see him come back for a one shot type deal, just something to help Hogan out when Michaels tries to "screw him" like he did Bret.

I never seen such a collection of idiots in one location before.

Bret Hart is done. This isn't Mick Foley's "Im done (for a year and then I'll do a big match for big bucks)" type of done.

Bret Hart had a stroke. A stroke isn't a back or neck injury.

Bret has repeated said he would never wrestle again, Taking soft bumps for a exhibition display isn't performing.

Bret never ruled out working with WWE again, that has happened but Bret has soundly denied any possibility he would return to the ring.

He had a huge offer on his plate to wrestle in MSG at WMXX against Kurt Angle (the one guy Bret would want to face if he could have that one last match) and turned it down.

If you want to do fantasy booking for Bret's "return", feel free to. There's alot of creative ways to use your imagination but thats all Bret's coming back to.

Your imagination.

Stop comparing this to Shawn's injury.

Stop day-dreaming that Bret has one last match in him.

Stop under acknowledging the effects of a Stroke.

Stop being idiots. You all know who you are.

Stop expecting it. A stroke --- especially a bad one as Bret has apparently suffered --- isn't something you recover from. I honestly hope they don't have him speak because I've seen a lot of stroke victims who have their ability to speak seriously impaired.
