Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2005 You're better off for it. If you want to road trip down to Scarborough one time I can show you what it's about but you're whiter then I am so it'd probably be pretty rough on your inner cracker.

dubq 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 Oshawa is paradise if you live in Welland Ontario. Now that place is a dive. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As bad as Port Hope?
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 Do you live in Welland? Because yes, that place is a dive of dives. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, just south of it called Port Colborne. It gets depressing just driving though it.

I like Forums 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 I go to school in Welland. So I live there for 8 months of the year. I hear a lot of bad things but I never leave the Niagara College campus so I have yet to see anything too bad. The East side looks like the kind of place you'd never want to be walking around at night.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 The Niagra Falls area in general, from what I can remember, aren't too nice. Aside from The Hill and all the tourist-y areas the houses seemed kinda rough.
I like Forums 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 Yeah they found a few bodies in Niagara Falls last year.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 Falls isn't bad. I live in a seedier area of town, and it's pretty safe.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Anyone hear that ad in Hamilton saying Toronto Sucks. Personally I find it hilarious. http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...7c-3dc805bc6e72 Its from the National Post, and I won't be surprised if there was some Liberal bashing in the article, so folks, take this with a grain of salt. CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 While I didn't click the link, this was on Hamilton's CH Talk Live call in TV show yesterday. I personally find it ironic, what with the Ti-Cats being 0-8.
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 All this talk about shitty places in Ontario makes me worship the heaven that is Pickering. Malvern is the worst place around where I am. Oshawa too, but that's bit farther.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 Hamilton is unquestionably the asshole of Ontario.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 But it hates Toronto for some odd reason. Well I think everyone hates Toronto even the people that live in Toronto hates Toronto.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 You're pretty far off from where I stand. Most people I know that live in Toronto love it. I'd move down there in a heartbeat to get away from the suburban circle of hell that is Mississauga.

dubq 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 But it hates Toronto for some odd reason. Well I think everyone hates Toronto even the people that live in Toronto hates Toronto. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not defending Toronto, but I just don't think Hamilton should talk. As for T.O. I dislike it. I think it's a hole. I think our Mayor is a piece of shit who consistently wastes our tax dollars, on par with Dalton McGuinty. The people here are rude and never smile and never say 'thanks' when you go out of your way for them. Our streets are FUCKING FILTHY. The cost of living is ridiculous. I would LOVE to move, but it's the whole matter of me not wanting to move to another city unless I have guaranteed employment there first.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 To Kahran, I consider the GTA Toronto because that's what it is, Megacity and all. Oshawa is not Toronto, but North York and Markham certainly are. Toronto is fine, but I agree that a lot of times the crime and lack of friendliness from people bring it down a peg. Toronto is fine, but I agree that a lot of times the crime and lack of friendliness from people bring it down a peg. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is Markham part of the megacity? I thought that stopped at Steeles for some reason...? Would that also mean that Thornhill and Richmond Hill are part of GTA Toronto?
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2005 To Kahran, I consider the GTA Toronto because that's what it is, Megacity and all. Oshawa is not Toronto, but North York and Markham certainly are. North York is a part of Toronto already. Markham is not. I think you are confused between the GTA and the old Metropolitan Toronto. The GTA itself, extends from roughly Oakville to Port Hope from east-to-west, and up to and including Barrie in the north.

claydude14 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 I like Toronto as a tourist, but not all the bums. Except for the guy that plays electric guitar under the bridge next to the ACC, he rocks.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Bums will give you the best directions possible and they're only a quarter! Or less, if you're a serious prick. I have never been led wrong by a T.O hobo yet.
dubq 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Get ready for more hobos and junkies. The provincial Liberals are closing a few detox centres here in Toronto so we're bound to have quite a few more crazies on the streets. Fucking Dalton.

The city of Toronto (the "megacity") is made up of the former cities of Etobicoke, York, North York, East York, Toronto and Scarborough. It's bounded by Hwy. 27/427 and Etobicoke Creek to the West, Steeles Avenue to the north, and the Rouge River and Altona Road to the East.
dubq 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Heh, Beaverton. That's obscure.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 That's a good way to put it, although people in Hamilton will get pissed off if you tell them that so they are usually left out. It covers most of the 905 area code anyways (which Hamilton is in).
