Lord of The Curry

Toronto is fuckin' gangsta apparently

You're better off for it. If you want to road trip down to Scarborough one time I can show you what it's about but you're whiter then I am so it'd probably be pretty rough on your inner cracker.

I go to school in Welland. So I live there for 8 months of the year. I hear a lot of bad things but I never leave the Niagara College campus so I have yet to see anything too bad. The East side looks like the kind of place you'd never want to be walking around at night.

All this talk about shitty places in Ontario makes me worship the heaven that is Pickering.

Malvern is the worst place around where I am. Oshawa too, but that's bit farther.

But it hates Toronto for some odd reason.

Well I think everyone hates Toronto even the people that live in Toronto hates Toronto.

You're pretty far off from where I stand. Most people I know that live in Toronto love it. I'd move down there in a heartbeat to get away from the suburban circle of hell that is Mississauga.

I'm not defending Toronto, but I just don't think Hamilton should talk.

As for T.O. I dislike it. I think it's a hole. I think our Mayor is a piece of shit who consistently wastes our tax dollars, on par with Dalton McGuinty. The people here are rude and never smile and never say 'thanks' when you go out of your way for them.

Our streets are FUCKING FILTHY. The cost of living is ridiculous. I would LOVE to move, but it's the whole matter of me not wanting to move to another city unless I have guaranteed employment there first.

To Kahran, I consider the GTA Toronto because that's what it is, Megacity and all. Oshawa is not Toronto, but North York and Markham certainly are.

Toronto is fine, but I agree that a lot of times the crime and lack of friendliness from people bring it down a peg.

Is Markham part of the megacity? I thought that stopped at Steeles for some reason...? Would that also mean that Thornhill and Richmond Hill are part of GTA Toronto?

North York is a part of Toronto already. Markham is not. I think you are confused between the GTA and the old Metropolitan Toronto.

The GTA itself, extends from roughly Oakville to Port Hope from east-to-west, and up to and including Barrie in the north.

Get ready for more hobos and junkies. The provincial Liberals are closing a few detox centres here in Toronto so we're bound to have quite a few more crazies on the streets.

Fucking Dalton.

The GTA is pretty much any area covered by GO Transit, so that would also include Burlington and Hamilton, plus Guelph and Orangeville to the northwest and Uxbridge and Beaverton to the northeast.

The city of Toronto (the "megacity") is made up of the former cities of Etobicoke, York, North York, East York, Toronto and Scarborough. It's bounded by Hwy. 27/427 and Etobicoke Creek to the West, Steeles Avenue to the north, and the Rouge River and Altona Road to the East.

That's a good way to put it, although people in Hamilton will get pissed off if you tell them that so they are usually left out. It covers most of the 905 area code anyways (which Hamilton is in).
