Guest *KNK* Report post Posted August 27, 2005 I wonder how WM 17 - 20 will be handled on the set. The article says there will be four sets, with each set containing five discs. Basic math indicates that there will be one disc for each WM. However, the original releases of WM 16 - 20 had the PPV spread across two discs. I hope they're not going to cram those events into one disc, because it will mean a big drop in picture quality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What about WMIV, which I believe was 4 hours as well, They can't cram that on One dvd...I know 1/2 of it is meaningless but I want the full version of EVERY show. Guest *KNK* Report post Posted August 27, 2005 Isn't releasing it in November kind of early? I would release it nearer Mania time. Like in early march.

spman 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 Which version of WM V do you have? I have the VHS set released in '97, and all of the WMs seem to be uncut (except XI, which is the "Encore Plus" version). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For god know whatever reason, WWE released 2 different versions of Wrestlemania when they re-issued them. The Legacy set was the big ass box set which had 1-13, all completely uncut and restored from their original Closed Circuit / PPV Airings, which is how these DVDs damn well better be if I'm gonna spend 300 bones on the set. Then, in 1998 they released the whole Wrestlemania set individually. The individual tapes were produced in extended play and copied to these cheap as shit plastic VHS tapes which would fall apart after two or three plays., I swear I've repaired my copy of WM 9 atleast 3 times now. Anyways, these shows for whatever reason appear to be edited version of the original Coliseum Video releases, missing some backstage skits and promos. The matches are all in tact though. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 Hey guys, WM 15, 16, 17, and 18 were already made in DVD release. They've been pulled off since then, but oh well. I own all of those but 15, so if necessary I'll just switch any blurred discs with the real complete versions. That said, I would not buy it until there's some discount code on one of the online retailers that makes it easier to swallow the price tag.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted August 27, 2005 When the article about the WM Boxset broke originally, I'm sure they mentioned you could buy all 20 in the $300 set or in groups of five for around $80 each. If this is still the case, then you'll have the option of not buying WM 16-20 if blurring is a big issue for you. I'm not so sure now whether I'd buy the whole thing, especially now that people have talked about the impossibility of fitting some WMs on a single disc. For me to buy it, they can't edit out large chunks of WM to make them fit, and I'd at least like some specal features (prior interviews and matches from the time period) for each WM. I guess we'll find out in November.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 It's my understanding that if you buy the full 'Complete Anthology' pack, then you get WM21 thrown in. It's not available if you buy the 5-packs individually.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 I've got 16, 17, 20, and 21, I can get 19 off Netflix and copy it, so hopefully they're still gonna have them as seperate 5-packs available
Nightfall 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 As a DVD collector, I will be buying this whole set once DDD has another 20% off sale even though I already have WM's 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 on DVD. I'm just a sucker for box sets.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 The only thing that annoys me is when the audio byte "WWF" has to be removed. It really pissed me off on Benoit's DVD when they did the Angle/Benoit cage match. You kept hearing things like: "Chris Benoit could be the next ....... Champion!" -- JR "I am Stone Cold Steve Austin, the ....... Champion!" -- Austin "This man is the ....... Champion, sir!" -- Paul Heyman Now THAT's fucking annoying. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 Another thing about this box set... They better include the Mania V Piper's Pit on the Mania V disk...unlike the tape I currently have of it. I've wanted to see that in full for the longest time now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would've had no problem with the edit on the Wrestlemania: Legacy VHS Box Set, except for the fact it is on the back of the WM V cover art! I'm guessing it'll be on there though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> really I have the legacy 1-14 box set and the pipers pit from V is on there. hmmmmmm

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 I have the set with Wrestlemania I-XV and Piper's Pit there. There is a small cut in the Money Inc./Mega Maniacs match from IX, but that's all. Just give me a sec and I'll run upstairs and see the name of the set. EDIT: It is called Wrestlemania: The Legacy and features grey boxes with the original posters on the front of the individual boxes. The box is black, but on the sides are pictures of the various events in Wrestlemania history. One side is blue and features attitude guys like Rock & Austin, the other side is red and features older guys like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart & Randy Savage. WM 4 for example. cut out Robin Leechs intro to the tournament. WM 5 cut out the preview for No Holds Barred (Hogans movie), though I have heard from others that that is on their version of the tape. And a few things seem to be cut from 6 and 7 ( a few promos I think) I think my versions were cut from the masters cuz they dont have any coliseum extras and all the matches on the tapes are all in full,as far as I can tell. WM 13 cuts out at the begin a bit (form the intro to the fireworks already going off-cutting out the wm 13 logo part) and 14 cuts out the awesome opening video package and cuts directly to the logo opening part, plus at the end it has the WWF home video exclusive clips (which was on the original home video release in 1998) of the post wm press conference with Tyson and Austin

At least the tapes still work after repeated viewing. Some people have talked about theirs breaking. My WM IV does have the Robin Leech intro, but it is missing some of the interviews I remember from the Coliseum version. Steamboat's interview is missing. Heenan getting his delivery is missing. I'm missing a Demolition interview. But most of the stuff is there. WM V is complete from the PPV version I had from 1989, including the No Holds Barred promo are VI & VII. The only exception is that the intermissions have been trimmed out. XI is the replay version hosted by Piper. XIII is intact. I don't know about XIV because this was during a period where I completely turned on the WWF and was watching WCW so I haven't seen the original PPV version. pochorenella 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 All my Mania tapes from III - X are original Coliseum Video releases. Mania III has this big-ass rubber-type box like VHS tapes had back then. Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 DDD just lowered the price even more, now it's only $151.18! If it stays at that price, it'll only be $120.94 if you buy it during the 20% Off sale. I'll more than likely buy it then. I might even sell the ones I have right now, which would pay for the entire set.
