Guest MikeSC Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Why is MikeSC so negative about everything..... unless it includes Bush? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's desperately seeking a purpose on the forums, it seems. He should stick to the Pit, honestly. Outside of CE stuff, he has nothing to contribute. Myself and half the mods have him on ignore already. Just try that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, can't possibly offend the sensibilities of the mod staff. Believe me, I stick to The Pit about anything I actually care about. This board is still a little laughable. Oh well. I know, the sheer concept that maybe, just maybe, Nintendo might need to worry a bit as their biggest cash cow by a huge margin (the handheld market) is coming under a frontal assault from a company that has quite bluntly owned the video game market for nearly a decade now is just beyond the pale. As for the lack of contribution, you're not exactly churning out the quality.
Guest MikeSC Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Why is MikeSC so negative about everything..... unless it includes Bush? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hardly am. I am quite looking forward to XBox 360, though I think they pulled the plug on the original XBox way too quickly. I'd love to see a PS3 title that is actually not completely pre-rendered. I've given up hope on Nintendo dislodging its head from its ass.
Eclipse Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 Nintendo, at this point, doesn't look like it will ever pull out of console side of things. Their company has earned itself alot of money, and hell, they continue to make good money out of it. Moving away from consoles is something that doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
Guest MikeSC Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Their consoles have been disasters in the US for decades now. It hasn't been since the SNES that they had a console that even remotely competitive. And Sony and Microsoft have more money to pour into this than Nintendo does.
{''({o..o})''} Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 A decade is ten years, decades would imply at least 20 years. The NES came out in the US in 1985, therefore Nintendo has never released a succesful console then, huh?
Guest MikeSC Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Decades as in 90's and 00's (Sony dominated for most of the 90's and ths far is the 2000)
Anya Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 GC and N64 were profitable for Nintendo and they're in no danger of running out of money. Why would they stop? Sony dominated from about 97 on. That's like 4 years of one decade and the other is like halfway over.
{''({o..o})''} Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Playstation came out in September 1995, and not enough units were sold to be consider them dominate until into late 1996 or 97 at least, while SNES came out September 91 and dominated a greater share of the 90's than 3-4 years. Hard to stretch 8 years into decades. EDIT: And like Anya said, they aren't in danger of running out of money anytime soon.
AndrewTS Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 CronoT was a more useful poster in this folder than Mike. Although this thread title sucks. It sounds like something CT would have come up with.
Star Ocean 3 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 It might be a Kurt Angle quote, so it's OK.
{''({o..o})''} Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Didn't Crono have a thread where he said Sony would stop selling to some store because they sold a game early or something equally silly?
El Psycho Diablo Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 The GC made money, but only after they reduced the price so much..
Anya Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I'm pretty sure Nintendo was always making a profit on it. They at least didn't take as much of a loss as MS and SOny.
Slayer Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Didn't Crono have a thread where he said Sony would stop selling to some store because they sold a game early or something equally silly? Nah
I like Forums Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Nintendo still sells very well in Japan.
