Dangerous A Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 According to PWI Insider.com, Vader has signed the legends deal that WWE has been offering to former workers of theirs. A lot of fanboys on other boards seem to think this will spark a Vader DVD, but I don't know if that will be the case. Personally, I'd love to have Vader v Sting from GAB '92 and Vader v Flair from Starcade 93 on DVD, but I don't know if WWE views Vader in a good enough light to warrant his own DVD. Perhaps a spot on a Greatest Stars of the 90's or something? Discuss.
CanadianChris Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Any DVD on Vader HAS to include both the White Castle of Fear and Masters of the Powerbomb mini-movies.
notJames Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Vader DVD? Won't happen. Although, I could watch him ruin Sting's shit every day of the week and twice on Wednesday.
nl5xsk1 Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I'd like to see a one-disc 'set' of Vader's best matches. Just show him stiffing Sting for a match, Cactus for two, a few matches from Japan and maybe one or 2 from the WWE. Put his stuff from the AWA as Leon White as an extra, and sell it for $20.00. I'd buy one.
razazteca Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Perhaps a spot on a Greatest Stars of the 90's or something? Vader deserves 3 matches if and when that set comes out.
Dangerous A Posted August 29, 2005 Author Report Posted August 29, 2005 If WWE could work out something with the Japanese promotions, they absolutely have to get Vader's 1/4/96 Dome show beating of Inoki as well as some of his late 80's/early 90's NJPW matches and late 90's AJPW matches. The Inoki beating has to be first priority though. Everything else would be icing on the cake.
Guest Brian Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I have a hard time imagining that they want to release a Vader DVD. Maybe they're attempting to re-release their older shows and they want to secure rights to Vader's character and set his royalties under a contract. Otherwise, I'm not seeing much of a point to this. Though if they have a Vader DVD, they have to get scenes from "Boy Meets World" on there.
Zack Malibu Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 It's because there's a Vader figure coming out in the Classic line. On a similar note, Charles "Godfather" Wright signed off on one of these deals, and all his gimmicks (Papa Shango, Kama and Godfather) are getting the figure treatment in upcoming sets. Same with Bam Bam Bigelow.
Paul Stanley Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Fancam footage of Orndorff beating him down in the shower, just kidding. I'm a huge Big Van Vader mark, release a set and i'll pay $25.99
Dangerous A Posted August 29, 2005 Author Report Posted August 29, 2005 As stated in my original post, I have my doubts about a Vader-only DVD being released. It would only really appeal to hardcore fans and that alone isn't enough to do it. Plus, his WWF/E run wasn't all that and because of that, I doubt you'd get a Vader DVD. Much more likely to be a part of a theme or compilation DVD than anything.
Zack Malibu Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 It has nothing to do with a DVD. The legends deals include merchandising for the toy lines, and with the Classic line being the most popular line of WWE toys right now, they're signing people up for it. Vader, Bigelow, Kamala, Godfather...all these guys have signed these deals, but I doubt you'll be seeing DVD's of nothing but Godfather matches.
razazteca Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I would like to see Vader vs Cactus Jack from the Halloween Havoc on DVD.
Guest Biggles Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Maybe a mentor role to somebody would suit him, to go with with the inevitable defeat to Randy Orton somewhere along the line

Vader appeals to that of the old worker who will punch you in the mouth because of your brash ways. This DVD will appeal to all if they include "Boy Meets World".
Guest Jack Potts Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I've been thinking for some time that WWE could use a stiff-punching, credible Vader-esque monster on the roster. There are too many hyper-cut guys with similar physiques in the WWE now. I would like to see if an old-school style wrestler in the Vader vein could get over with today's wrestling audience. By the way, I've never bought a wrestling figure for myself, but I would shell out some money for a Vader actiong figure!

notJames Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I would buy a talking one that said "I'm a big fat piece of shit!"
Vampiro69 Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 IT"S TIME! IT'S TIME! IT'S VADER TIME!
Open the Muggy Gate Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 It's debateable to some... but I still think he was the greatest super heavyweight of all time. He was just absolutely DOMINANT for a great stretch until the almighty Hulk Hogan fucked that up.
pochorenella Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 A Vader DVD? Never happen. IMO, Vader's US career was fucked from the moment it was learned that Paul Orndorff kicked his ass legit. And wearing flip-flops, no less.
The Niggardly King Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Is there any possibility he could make an appearance on screen?
Vampiro69 Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Vader was the one wrestler that when I was younger scared the heck out of me. The man was a beast. If only he would have killed Shawn and Cory on Boy Meets World he would be considered a God.
Matt Young Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 One of my cats chewed off the foot of my Vader actionj figure from the mid-90s.
Paul Stanley Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Did the cat get run over recently? an eye for an eye i say
geniusMoment Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Bam Bam signed a deal? Where did they find him? They could not locate him for either ECW show, and even his wife has no clue where he went, he has been gone for months.
Enigma Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Vader and Sting had some of the best matches together. The Great American Bash 1992 match is just sick. Vader totally beats the shit out of Sting, and Sting is a bumping like a pinball. And the Superbrawl 3 strap match is one of the most barbaric things I've ever seen. Vader had blood coming out of his head in about 3 or 4 places, and that match gave Sting a lot of credibility as a tough guy because he bloodied up Vader so bad.
