Vito...

Recommended Posts

I couldn't sleep much earlier this morning so I got up and for the heck of it, checked out WWE.com. I noticed they had an "exclusive" match up...Vito vs Steven Richards. I watched it, and man...this Vito guy is pretty impressive. I'd encourage all of you to watch and give your thoughts. He's got a cool finisher, and seems like he can actually work. I wish WWE would start putting him and Nunzio on Smackdown (especially to let people know that Nunzio is the CW Champion, since I don't think that title change has even been acknowledged on Smackdown, as far as I know).

Yeah, same one from ECW and WCW. I never really saw him in either...we didn't get ECW around here at that time, and by the time he got to WCW I wasn't watching much because the booking was so terrible. But yeah, in that match against Richards, he looked pretty impressive...like Tyson Tomko, but with talent. He has a cool finisher (the implant DDT, ala Gangrel), and those crossface punches looked pretty brutal. I hope they give him more exposure.

Vito is a guy who was mostly a jobber in ECW (and I believe a Sat. morning jobber in the WWF in the early 90s, but don't quote me on that), yet was used quite a bit better in WCW. I thought he was a solid performer in the Mamalukes and also on his own feuding with his "brother" Reno. He looks a bit more cut since those days.

I've always been high on Vito since watching him in WCW, and I'm enjoying his work with Nunzio, especially how Vito acts as a Bodyguard/enforcer.

Reno had the best finisher.

In fact, what happend to Reno?

He went back to being a bouncer.

Reno was one of the many Power Plant guys who didn't really love professional wrestling. He, like many others there, was a tough guy who excelled at something else (whether it be plain old fighting, football, etc.), and decided to try his hand at training so he could make $100,000 a year for however long possible.

So when the checks stopped, Reno stopped.

Skull Von Krush makes it to the WWE!! Awesome

Vito had a run with the Hardcore title in WCW - saw him live in a Hardcore title match that was part hardcore, part played for comedy - loved it.

and Nunzio/Vito would be a credible tag team... so that's not gonna happen in the WWE

I'm surprised they're letting him use the Implant DDT to be honest. If Piledrivers and Shooting Stars are 'too dangerous', you'd have thought that would have been too.

It'll most likely still be banned as soon as Vito accidently injures someone with the Implant DDT. That's usually what prompts WWE to ban certain moves.
