Enigma Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 World Wrestling Entertainment dropped creative team member Rudy Fischmann, who had been with the company about 8-12 weeks. Fischmann had a reputation for "acting markish" according to one source and for talking down to wrestlers despite his relatively low position on the creative team's totem poll. One of the last straws was said to have been Fischmann browbeating and yelling at Ashley Massaro and Torrie Wilson after their match on Monday. Despite the Divas being told by several road agents and even Vince McMahon that the bout (which obviously didn't go well) was OK, Fischmann loudly complained that it wasn't what he wanted out of the segment.
Gary Floyd Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 but their match did suck.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shhhh, don't break the writers (or Vince's) dillusions!
Dangerous A Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 S D, you should post a source. Just saying. If this is true, well, I'm glad someone spoke the truth to the divas. Their match sucked. Hard. If Vince and the other road agents said the match was ok, then I'm still under the belief that Vince just surrounds himself with yes-men and if someone steps outside of their yes-men role, they end up like Mr. Fischmann. If this story is indeed true.
Guest nokia Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I saw this news item at pwinsider.com.....
Just John Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Yeah, that match was Jackie Gayda bad. Ashley holds the record of worst sunset flip in history. I don't know why the last straw was berating a divas match, when the article makes it sound like he talked down to established wrestlers prior to this.
Dangerous A Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 It's on Meltz's site as well. The best part of the blurb is... WWE fired Rudy Fishmann on Tuesday night from the writing team. Apparently they were mad at him because he only was critical of the Torrie Wilson vs. Ashley Massaro match. No shit. Dusty Rhodes was in the office helping with writing today. We're either going to see something decent or unintentional comedy of the WrestleCrap variety coming from this.
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 "Not what he wanted out of the segment"?? Come on, this guy had to go.
Guest JMA Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I'm more bothered by the fact that anyone thought that Ashley/Torrie match would even be "okay."
The Mandarin Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 "Not what he wanted out of the segment"?? Come on, this guy had to go. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We'll never find out what he truly expected from it.
Dobbs 3K Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Well, it's been reported for a while that if you're not a "yes man" to Vince, you usually don't last too long with the company...
CanadianChris Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 It's things like this that make me feel justified for quitting on the product.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 but their match did suck.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's it - you're fired.
Dogbert Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Is Fit Finlay still with the company? Ashley already acknowledged that she wanted to wrestle, and that she had already started training. Good... but it doesn't make her a wrestler yet. WWE should do with her what they did with Trish: put her in a management position on-air while Fit (or another of the road agents if he isn't around) shows her how to do the in-ring part.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Is Fit Finlay still with the company? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but he's on the SD side now.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 CM Punk? Down in OVW. Barely-trained Ashley? On Raw having matches & interview segments.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 CM Punk? Down in OVW. Barely-trained Ashley? On Raw having matches & interview segments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CM Punk doesn't have tits.
SuperJerk Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I'm confused by the "not what he wanted out of the segment" comment, since the only reason Torrie's on TV is to grab the attention of channel surfers by wearing outifts that show off her body. Did the segment not do that?
The Mandarin Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 CM Punk? Down in OVW. Barely-trained Ashley? On Raw having matches & interview segments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CM Punk doesn't have tits. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alexis Laree has the tits you need, bruddah. I see no reason not to bring him in right now.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 He has to be reprogrammed to bore you.
Dogbert Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Is Fit Finlay still with the company? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but he's on the SD side now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, then get Dean Malenko to do it. I'd figure he could teach a wet mop how to put on matches that'd hit at least ***.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 The greenhorn needs to learn how to work.
Fökai Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Well, whether he's right about it or not, he has to address the problem with the other writers, McMahon or the workers themselves. The way that he went about it was unprofessional and screams of markdom. Then again, what the fuck was he expecting out of two non-wrestlers? And how does he have any stroke to even complain?
Fökai Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 CM Punk? Down in OVW. Barely-trained Ashley? On Raw having matches & interview segments. Hmm, one has a $250,000 contract to validate, and the other doesn't?
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 But doesn't embarassing yourself every week on live TV kinda hurt that $250,000 contract? If she keeps that up, the crowd is going to take a crap on her.
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Somehow I don't think he cared about the quality of wrestling, but rather, they didn't hit the spots he wanted them to so he got angry. I don't think the WWE is ever hard on their women, well, in the critical way, at least.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Nor should they really. I mean they're not attempting to run a competitive women's division. They all know they are there because they are eye candy. So it's counterproductive to get on their cases for not putting on **** affairs.
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Agreed. Yelling at someone like Ashley, who is new and not used to the WWE environment, would only create more problems. You have to coddle them, you see, because they are weak-minded and very fragile.
The Mandarin Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Somehow I don't think he cared about the quality of wrestling, but rather, they didn't hit the spots he wanted them to so he got angry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe that sunset flip was supposed to be the pin reversal spot where all us horny males get to salivate over the ladies' spread clothed crotches.
AndrewTS Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 At least Christy apologized profusely for her match sucking ass.
