Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Dan Puder getting his ass whooped at the rumble by Eddie, Benoit and Holly was great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and imagine this , that was the highlight of his actual wwe career. The smark in me would like to say Angle got him canned cuz he is scared but NAH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You would think the highlight of his career would be having a ref bail out world class wrestler that he schooled on the mat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but that happened before he won TE so he wasnt an offcial wwe superstar yet. Sass 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Okay, here is the thing. I seriously doubt that Angle expected to get put in a potentially dangerous move and I seriously doubt that he was attempting to put Puder in one. I will not call it a "shoot" when it was obvious that one guy wasn't going all out. He can take that moment all he wants, but for real, how many of you wouldn't put your money on Angle if they really took it to the mat? Angle's broken neck says otherwise. One Rear Naked Choke and Angle could be breathing through a ventilator.

Anyways, Ripper, I have no doubt that Angle is an amazing, world class wrestler. But that's only one dimension. Wrestlers get tapped by jiu-jitsu and judo artists alot. Sass 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 "YOU KNOW!" Trigg's from my neck of the woods (SoCal) so I've got a love/hate thing going on with him. He talked waaaaaayyy too much crap to Hughes and couldn't back it up when it mattered. I see him getting another run with the UFC in the future if he picks up some impressive W's on good calibre fighters. Angle vs. Trigg could be hilarious though. Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 No doubt, but at the same time, I still suggest that Puder was able to do what he did because in noway in Angles mind did he think this kid would be stupid enough to put him in a manuver to hurt him, and Angle, being the guy he is, wasn't trying to fuck the kid up either. Puder on the other hand saw it as a chance to make a name for himself and went all out while Angle didn't. Not saying Angle would 100% win in mat work or anything, but this "Puder schooled Angle" stuff is a bit much. He might even take Angle if they were both going full notch, but using that as a barameter is a little unfair.
Sass 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Agreed. Puder and Angle were fighting half-assed but then the young buck showed the old man he knows a thing or two about MMA and *almost* managed to upstage the instigator. All he did was catch Angle off guard in a worked match/angle, which would have never happened in an actual MMA fight between the two.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 ...as crazy as he is, it wouldn't surprise me if Vince let Trish and lita go one of these days... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Explain. Please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what do I need to explain, how crazy Vince is? Have you not followed the WWE in the past 5 or so years? That says it all. Do you want me to explain why he'd let Trish and Lita go? He's let every other female that can actually work go, why not those two? Trish may be a stretch, but Lita is toast once this Edge/Hardy fued goes away...

I believe he even dissed one of the nameless divas and used the line, "She only wanted me for my money." Ha, indeed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's because the creative team never used the winners properly. They always featured them heavily in the post show hype and then sent them off to OVW and brought them back in almost totally meaningless roles with participation in a bad angle here or there thrown in for good measure. The fact that Maven was the best utilized of all TE names to be called up is a testament to the total lack of brainpower within the WWE. Maven could be a virile upper midcarder now, but instead they bungled his face run and then screwed up a long anticipated heel turn which could have seen him hone his craft under the masters HHH and Flair, but instead he was dicking around with Eugene and Simon Dean. What a waste, especially since he was showing lots of potential as a heel.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 am I the only one who thinks MNM isn't really enteratining Not in ring (they ahve good teamwork and heel charsima) , but the gimmick is stupid (it would work if it was revealed that they hire the phtogrpahers to take pics of them), the attention is put on their manager at all times. as well as playing second-fiddle to a "mole". The booking with LOD notwithstanding. And most of all they have little to no heat (Melina is the only one to get any reaction. To parahrase Mick Foley (while talking about WCWS booking team), WWE creative could screw up a wet dream.
Guest MrBriggs Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Puder has the option of accepting a developmental contract and transfering to the Georgia developmental promotion, however, he'll only make $750 a week. $750 a week is still a $36K annual contract, which is alot when you're not touring all over the country and paying menial expenses (rental car, hotel room, etc). As for the TE contract, everything was up front. When the participants signed, they knew only the first year was guaranteed. I highly doubt that the contract was fraudulent; I'd guess that the contract was heavily back-ended so that he'd have to impress them to get to that fourth year and get the entire million. The only reason I'm not complaining about that is because it's done all the time in the NFL. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, you know. With the NFL's annual competition entitled "WHO WANTS TO BE A NY GIANT FOR $1 MILLION!?!?"
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Yes, the rumors are true. I have been offered a release from my Million Dollar contract by World Wrestling Entertainment. The fine print in the contract that I won on Smackdown's Tough Enough was that only the first of the four years (at $250,000 per year) was guaranteed. This is their right, so no bitching. I'm proud of winning the very first ever Million Dollar Tough Enough. I'm proud that I adapted from MMA to WWE. I'm proud of my work in the ring with my pro wrestling trainers Lance Storm and more recently Al Snow, who was my Tough Enough trainer too. I am proud of my association with a man like Danny Davis. I am proud to have worked with Tommy Dreamer. I am proud and have enjoyed working with and learning from Paul Heyman, and all the opportunities this experience has presented. And I know I will use this experience to my advantage when I make my next long term career move. For the time being, I am headed back to Louisville, because Paul scheduled me in an OVW Title match against Johnny Jeter tomorrow night at the Davis Arena, 4400 Sheperdsville Road in Louisville. I hope it's my best pro wrestling match to date. I live up to my obligations and committments. That's the kind of man I am. And I'm going to show the world that at 23 years old, WWE thought short term and not long term with me. But I won't brag about it in advance. I'll prove it to everyone!!!!!!!! Thanks for all of your support... Puder - Official statement from Daniel off his MySpace webpage

Scroby 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 You know its not like WWE just fired him for the hell of it. I see it as WWE just didn't see a reason for him to be making 250,000 a year if they couldn't see him getting on WWE tv anytime soon. So they released him from that contract, but they did offer him another one. Its not like WWE said "thanks for doing the contest now fuck off." to the creidt of WWE, WWE did give Puder a alternative. Oh and about the whole Puder schooled Angle thing, I think when Angle looked at Puder and yelled "What are you doing?", I think that was just Puder taking things a bit to seriously.....to be honest I personnally think that Angle should have stiffed up a little bit after Puder decided to get cocky and try to show off. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Taker is a different ball of wax because of his size. Almost any shoot fighter would have some difficulty with him if they are the size of Puder. I'm not saying I'm taking Taker in a shoot vs someone like Lidell, Shogun, or Silva. Just saying Taker poses a different problem for what these guys are trained for. Pride and K-1 wouldn't have a problem doing a Puder vs Taker fight though. They love promoting freak show matchups that really shouldn't be taking place. Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 In reality, UT wouldn't really be that much of a challenge for even a marginally skilled HW MMA fighter, unless he has a fair amount of training I'm completely unaware of, for a number of reasons: - It isn't rare for smaller yet more skilled HW's (especially wrestlers) to completely ragdoll larger, yet less skilled opponents through technique. - Taker is up there in age, and though no doubt probably in better shape than your average schmo, probably doesn't have the cardio to strike and/or grapple with a fully resisting opponent for an extended period of time. - Though I'm admittedly unaware of what experience UT has in real fights and how much MMA-related training he has, I don't think he's proficient enough in all of MMA's 3 ranges of fighting to not be seriously outclassed in at least one area. Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 You know, I always had this dream angle where they would use Tough Enough to get a unknown wrestler over. It would work with some indy guy that is very good and they were going to sign anyway, say like Low-ki. They would do the whole tough Enough thing, and Ki would win of course, and for his first night at Raw, he would give the "Gee willikers, I am so happy to be on Raw" interview and then do the corney "Oh my god its Hardcore Holly, I am SHOCKED and a little AFRAID and SCARED face." He would lose in a squash and the only offense he would show would be a drop kick. Then the next week he would give the EXACT same promo, word for word about being happy to be in the WWE. Holly would come out and get on him about saying the same thing and he would do the same shocked and afraid and scared face and the same results in the match. Then on the third week, EXACT same promo, Holly interrupts, but as the camera stays on his face after the shocked and scared face, it turns to angry and evil. match goes almost the same, all squashish, with Holly about to pull off his finisher, when wrestler excapes, looks at him slowly with the evil face and proceeds to beat the ever loving horseshit out of him with stiff looking kicks, and breaking out the entire line of finishers that he can think of. Beats HOlly, grabs the mic and cuts a promo about what the fuck ever. Point is, he would be over.

The guy can't even close the triangles he tries to throw into his matches because he doesn't have the leg flexibility anymore. If he did fight, I imagine it would end up looking like Heath Herring vs Giant Silva.
