claydude14 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I can't believe anyone actually watched those tough enough segments.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They were usually the highest rated segements of Smackdown! actually. My favorite was Basham Brother Capture the Flag.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Heck, the best workers are the ones who didn't make the cut. Chris Nowinski was decent enough.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 It's a shame when an actual talented grappler trying his best to learn pro wrestling gets cut while Maria, Torrie, Candice, Stacy, Christy and the new waste of space Lita-a-like, who do little more than pose now and then and wrestle incredibly shitty matches when they do step in the ring, continue to earn 6 figures. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I feel like we go through this argument each time: the divas are used in calendars, DVDs, signing appearances, etc, and make more money for the company than a "talented grappler trying his best to learn pro wrestling" does. It's a business, people, and I don't think VKM is just keeping women around for the fun of it. He does it to help generate revenue.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Ok, there's no way they can justify another TE contest now, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It appears not, but expect plenty more Diva Searches. I'm surprised WWE have been so quick to admit that their TE contests were mistakes, as shown by releasing so many of their contestants/winners in relatively short order. How does it happen that Dan Puder is never given truly a chance on WWE TV whilst a TE reject is packaged into the Boogeyman, whisked through OVW and would surely have been on WWE TV already had fate not intervened? Are any of the other Tough Enough contestants still being used in developmental?

BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Surprise, surprise, surprise. Perhaps Vince finally realized that pushing guys off the street over established in-ring stars was a complete and total failure? Wait, not really...Vince insists on giving us the strip....errrrrrrrr.....Diva searches.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Right now, I actually don't have a problem with most of the girls except when they get in the ring. But nl5xsk1, Christy and Ashley are hardly worth $250, 000 when they are so replacable. Hell, Ashley is replacable with girls in the company! If Torrie, Stacy, Trish, or even Michelle McCool put on a plaid skirt and a half shirt, Ashley would no longer be needed and WWE saves alot of money.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I nominate that the 'boogeyman' was put on TV because he was a lot bigger than Puder, no?

I totally agree that they could (and should) fire some of the divas ... I also agree that they shouldn't be paying ANY of them them anywhere near $250k. But people don't say 'fire some divas and keep others'. They just say 'fire divas and keep actual wrestlers'. And my argument is that the divas must be making the company money, or they wouldn't be kept around. Most of all, I want to say how much I hate the fact that the WWE has trained me to call them 'divas'. How long until I start calling the men "WWE Superstars"? EricMM 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 But is/was it too much to ask for for them to keep the few women who could work as well as pose?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 that's just it, the women that can work, including Victoria, aren't the kind of women that will make money off of photo shoots...that's what Vince is looking for and if he can get them to at least be "passable" in the ring, that's what he's going for...as crazy as he is, it wouldn't surprise me if Vince let Trish and lita go one of these days... Guest deinly1 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 If Puder was really released, why did he wrestle at an OVW tv taping yesterday? I would assume he's guna take the pay cut. Makes sense to me, the kid comes from money, I have a feeling he just wants to make the big time and prove he's got what it takes. I'd like to see the WWE use him in a Ken shamrock kind of way( not exactly mind you) but let him use submissions as finishers and work a grappling style in order to capitalize on UFC's popularity in the mainstream. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I actually think that Lita is done after this run with Edge. And it's not hard to find attractive women who can work. Trish is one that comes to mind. They have a couple females milling around in OVW who are attractive (Pheonix, Alexis Laree) and there are attractive indy female wrestlers. Besides, finding the attractive equivilent to the women in WWE now isn't hard. They're all plastic. Fake women are a dime a dozen now a days.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Okay, here is the thing. I seriously doubt that Angle expected to get put in a potentially dangerous move and I seriously doubt that he was attempting to put Puder in one. I will not call it a "shoot" when it was obvious that one guy wasn't going all out. He can take that moment all he wants, but for real, how many of you wouldn't put your money on Angle if they really took it to the mat?
