stahl 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2005 C - Sergei Federov, Sidney Crosby, Pierre Turgeon LW - Paul Kariya, Peter Schaefer, Eric Daze RW - Martin St. Louis, Dany Heatley, Teemu Selanne D - Brian McCabe, Mattius Ohlund, Ed Jovanovski, Tom Poti, Chris Chelios G - Ed Belfour, Dan Clourier I lucked out with the first pick. I have some question marks (Selanne, Kariya) some injury prone (Daze, Belfour) and some people who may underachieve. I also have a lot of surprise potential with Crosby. Im surprised he lasted so long when it is possible he can be as great as everyone says and win the scoring title.

Could put the Habs over the top. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apparently there was a bit of a bidding war to acquire his (?) services. Nice to see him finding work though. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 News that could ultimately be the greatest moment in recent Bruins history, from the Boston Globe ... Nick Boynton's holdout officially entered Week 2, amid reports from Canada that the Bruins are looking to trade veteran blue liner Hal Gill. If Gill were to get the gate -- possibly for only a draft pick in return -- it would free up some cap space, and in theory allow the Bruins to boost their offer to Boynton. They can't trade Gill soon enough for my liking.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Holy crap, that may be a good move. Trading a crap defenseman to sign a quality one to a long-term contract? Someone give MOC his pills. He can't let this happen!
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 While I don't like the chance of the Carolina Hurricanes going far this year, I really like their chances in the future as they are an all-around young team with alot of good players.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2005 Adam Deadmarsh is set to retire from concussions that plagued him for three years. In 567 games he had 184 goals and 376 points.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Deadmarsh was a solid player. Good defensively and a force for the Avs teams in the late 90's. Hard to believe that he was a first round draft pick though.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Apparently, Martha Burk isn't happy with the new NHL ad campaign: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2170199 Honestly, I just wish she'd go away. But hey, free publicity.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Obviously this is a pressing issue. Why must everything be so fucking PC? What are they supposed to do? Does that cover all the bases or are the letters being black and making up less than 50% of the ad space showing that black people aren't important in the hockey world and the NHL are racist? And there's no pink or other girlish colors in the ad, therefore stating that women are physically unable to play hockey, right? People like her piss me off. It's obvious to me that these ads are trying to show hockey for what it is; One of the most physically demanding sports in the world. The act of dressing a guy up to "go to battle" isn't offensive in war times? Or have I just opened up an entirely different can of worms?

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 It's only preseason, but Dominik Hasek playing 34 minutes of shutout hockey against the Penguins last night was definitely encouraging.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 I wish I could watch some preseason hockey. Sunshine Network has been reairing (and reairing...and reairing...) their player profiles on the Lightning's big 4 (St. Louis, Lecavalier, Richards, Andreychuk) since the middle of july 2004. I can recite most of these episodes now. Also, they've played exactly two games (over and over and over again). SCF game 6 (St. Louis's winner in Calgary forces game 7) and SCF game 7. This is all the hockey I have right now. I'd kill for even a Panthers game.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 Great game between the Leafs and Senators last night. Brandon Bochenski looks like he's played his way onto the big club -- he had a hat trick and an assist. Overall, the Bochenski - Spezza - Heatley line had 10 points on the night in a 7-4 Sens win. Guest I miss Test. Report post Posted September 27, 2005 It's only preseason, but Dominik Hasek playing 34 minutes of shutout hockey against the Penguins last night was definitely encouraging. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fuck you. The Dominator should only be allowed on teams with zero talent around him.
Dogbert 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Is there anyone following the Flames who can tell me whether Dion Phaneuf is going to make the team or be sent back to junior? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This was a sure thing from the start of training camp. Sutter's mentioned a few times that Dion would be staying with the big club this year.
