Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Oh wow. That's much worse than knocking an opponent (and yourself) out of a game for a silly fight.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 To call this karma is crazy. The only way this would be karma evening things out is if he stabbed Trotter in the thigh during the fight. Trotter missed one game and so did Mathis, seemed even to me. And no one told Trotter to swing back since he knew the result would be he gone. This is just....damn. Hopefully his career doesn't end over this.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Seriously......I don't know how painful turf toe is but come on! Isn't he being pretty wussy about this? I mean Farve played with a broken thumb, McNair with everything, hell even Jason White played with turf toe, a torn ligament in his foot(i believe), and a broken hand(not effectively obviously). So just a little turf toe? Sounds kind of sissy..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've heard that it's a hyperextended toe, the big one on his passing foot. I'm sure if it was his other foot he'd be more likely to play. But since it's the foot that he uses to get any velocity on the ball, it's most likely effecting his ability to pass with any speed or strength. Plus it's week two of the season. Why not sit out a few weeks now and come back in good health for when the games mean more.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 is Anthony Wright still on the Ravens? Shit I gotta add him back to the roster on Madden 06, they wouldn't let me put Stewart on there due to cap room...no I don't play as the Ravens but I'm one of those annoying anal sports games players that has to have the most up-to-date rosters at all times... Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 I find it funny that everyone is saying Mathis started the fight just because he doesn't start. Hell, even in Trotters version of the story he says he pushed the guy first. Thats fucked up for Kevin though. The Falcons need to go find another nickel back RIGHT now. He shoved Mathis backwards and then they are fighting. And I guess they can call someone up from the practice squad to replace him but damn, they got a serious nickel defense hole without him. Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 I don't think they have any defensive backs on the practice squad. Right now this puts Allen Rossum in his spot, and I am still shakey on Allen's defensive abilities.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Ehh... he might surprise you, in the "Troy Brown" on defense way.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Ehh... he might surprise you, in the "Troy Brown" on defense way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Brown is moderately fast and smart. He knew what his job was, knock the ball down and pick it if you know you can. Rossum takes too many risks which leaves himself and the team open for big plays.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Brown also had years of experience as a receiver to use as a resource when reading plays and formations pre-snap. Rossum doesn't have that luxury.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Actually Rossom came into the league as a cornerback. He just isn't very good because as it was said, he gambles on basically every play, when knocking the ball down would be the better option. He is good at getting himself in position, but his decision making after that is attrocious.

Granted he'll never pick off another pass but it's not like he does that much anyway.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 Drew Bledsoe is classic for putting up huge numbers but not making the important throws that win games. I am sorry Dallas fans, but as pedestrian as Vinny was last year, that wasn't the problem. As a Skins fan, I know I sound like a homer predicting them to win, but I look at like this......The Cowboys will be facing a Skins Defense that was #3 in defense last season with the RUN defense being the better half, now if they can neutralize Julius Jones and the run game, then you are going to see them attack Bledsoe, his old coach Greg Williams is coaching the Skins D, and something tells me he is going to have a pretty good gameplan for attacking him. The Skins problem will be scoring points on offense of course, however I see a close, low scoring game that will be won in the 4th quarter. This is why I actually think Brunell is a more ideal QB then Ramsey for this situation. Ramsey has an NFL arm, but he makes too many mistakes, this game on monday would have been a primetime example of why Ramsey is not yet ready (and may never be) because he would be himself and do a lot of things right, but make the stupid throw in the 4th quarter that blows the game. Brunell on the other hand, while he won't light up the stat sheets, he will make the throws he needs to and avoid making the dumb throws that lose games. Also his best game in 2004 was agains the Cowboys, he lit them for over 300yds passing a couple of TD tosses... Skins 17 'Boys
