muzz 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 That whole bit with The Final Countdown was awesome. I don't think I can wait for Season 2 to be released here in Australia, so I might try and get it elsewhere.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 I thought it was released in australia in like august. They had it on Ebay from australia anyway.
Special K 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 Seriously, the vast majority of the humor in AD is verbal, but how great is it that the show's been on for two years, and there's at least 10 animated GIFs that make me smile or laugh? God, the Buster Chicago/Star Wars kid montage is fucking great.
Special K 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 Double post. COME ON.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 George Michael slipping on the drink was pretty hilarious
Renegade 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Downhome can you please do a gif on the ending of the Righteous Brothers? Where GOB is singing everything I do? Starting from "you know its true..." please.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Awesome, you rule. By far the funniest moment in the entire show.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-11-02/ Production on acclaimed comedy Arrested Development has been temporarily halted, while star Emmy nominated and Golden Globe-winning Jason Bateman recovers from throat surgery. The 36-year-old actor underwent surgery yesterday morning to remove a benign polyp. Bateman's spokesperson, Cara Tripicchio, says the operation went smoothly and the screen star is doing well. Production on Arrested Development will be on hiatus for a few weeks while Bateman recovers, according to executive producer Mitch Hurwitz.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 What's the status of the show beyond that hiatus? I read the other day that it was going to be pushed off of Monday nights by "House" come January. Any chance it get can get a cushy spot with "Stacked" as a lead-in on Wednesday nights?

I read the other day that it was going to be pushed off of Monday nights by "House" come January. Any chance it get can get a cushy spot with "Stacked" as a lead-in on Wednesday nights? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When you consider that Stacked was only renewed because it went well with The Simple Life (which got canceled), it's not all that cushy of a spot. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I don't like the looks of this.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I think "Stacked" has "That 70s Show" as a lead-in (followed by "Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy"), so it's kind of a moot point. I'd say that with all of the Sunday night slots being taken and "American Idol" returning before too long, the show's future on Fox looks pretty grim. Has there been any talk of moving it to FX? It might be a better fit there.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2005 I've heard it's way too expensive to air first-run for FX. I guess we're going to have to hope Fox keeps it alive, or that NBC, of all networks, adds it in its new and unexpected quest to air comedy that doesn't revolve around attractive singles in Manhattan high-rises with inexplicably high income. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I love this show. Annyong appearance at the end was beautiful. I am going to be so depressed when it's eventually canceled.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 That shit was worth the month long wait. I haven't laughed as hard as I did at the mole/jetpack in weeks.
treble 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Again, it's a really hard show to watch with someone who's only seen bits and pieces of it. Trying to explain who's who is a pain in the ass, and when I yelled out 'ANNYONG!' my friend thought I was crazy. Loved the Godfather parody and the Ben Johnson bit. LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I loved how they paid off the medallion, and the awesome return of Annyong. God this show is great.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 TWO new episodes of AD in one night, I feel like the luckiest girl at that ball. I need to download that episode because I'm SURE I missed a ton of spoken jokes while laughing hysterically on the floor at the Tobias/George Michael battle in the miniature city. I havn't laughed that hard in ages. And the end when Annyong apears at the end almost killed me as well. Brilliant subtitle joke there to when he says: "Annyong" - subtitles 'hello' (as usual) "Hello" - subtitles 'Annyong' I'm glad they're continuing the Maybe film exectuive plot as well. And they finally 'outed' Rita which was good cause that whole thing was getting a bit rediculous. I am going to be so depressed when it's eventually canceled. People been saying that since halfway throught the first season.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 The totally inane things Tobias was saying as he destroyed Tiny Town as a giant mole just slayed me. That and the "crowning"-"I'm assuming sex, but I'm meeting you more than halfway" jokes were my favorite of the night. I can't even fathom a show this good getting cancelled. ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Oh and "Here's Annabel Veal singing 'We three Kings' with a camel tow" Fucking hillarious
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 "I exact high construction standards" or whatever it was, holy shit. Sometimes I really wonder how they come up with all this.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 That and the "crowning"-"I'm assuming sex, but I'm meeting you more than halfway" jokes were my favorite of the night. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Did I miss some sort of new euphemism?" And I still don't think Bob Loblaw is a good character. The only decent bit he's been involved in was the phone sex from a month back.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 "I exact high construction standards" or whatever it was, holy shit. Sometimes I really wonder how they come up with all this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is really the only show that I can think of that has more layered humor than even "The Simpsons" in its prime. There are at least three funny things about the Tobias-George Michael "Tiny Town" fight scene, and I honestly can't think of another show that would give you that many things to laugh at in one act. Why is it that more people aren't watching this show?

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 fucking a' the Godzilla fight scene had me ROLLING, god damn was that shit out of the blue hilarious. Like, so perfectly executed, that scene alone was worth the wait Tobias' random dialogue while he destroyed the minature development was great, and I didn't even catch half of it because I was marking out so hard, definitely need to download it and pay closer attention to what he was saying and yeah, the Bob Loblaw character hasn't really hit the mark, but it's made up for by SUPER DAVE owning every scene he's in
