TVGuide.com: Do you think there might be an Arrested movie at some point? The final episode implied as much when your character, Maeby, tried to sell the rights to the Bluth story to Ron Howard.

Shawkat: Mitch actually recently told us that there is a good possibility for a movie, and that he's talking to Ron Howard about it.

Emmy Award Winning Fox Comedy ''Arrested Development'' Finds Post Broadcast Home Online, on Hi-Def TV and on Basic Cable

LOS ANGELES & REDMOND, Wash. & DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2006--

Fox Entertainment Group Licenses Entire Three-Season Run of the Critically Acclaimed Favorite to MSN, HDNet and G4 Syndicating Series Simultaneously on Three Platforms Marks Industry First

Today, Fox Entertainment Group, MSN, HDNet and G4 announced that America's funniest dysfunctional family will get a second shot at enduring fame with the complete three-seasons (53 episodes) of the award-winning comedy, "Arrested Development" available soon online, on hi-def TV and on basic cable.

"We're thrilled that this groundbreaking, critically-acclaimed show will find an entirely new audience through a variety of complementary platforms - from rich media, to hi-def TV to cable," said Peter Levinsohn, President of Fox Digital Media. "This is the first time a series has been licensed to three platforms simultaneously, a testament to the explosion of the aftermarket for high-end content. We're actively developing this exciting new arena with partners like MSN, HDNet and G4."

Produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment, the multiple award-winning "Arrested Development" ran for three years on FOX and was one of the most celebrated comedies in network history. It revolves around Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) who is doing his best to pick up the pieces and keep his offbeat family from falling apart after his father, George Bluth (Jeffrey Tambor), is locked up for fraud.

"This studio has led the industry in producing content for digital media, from our mobisode series to our DVD prequels to the vast array of wireless applications inspired by our shows," commented Twentieth Century Fox Television Presidents Gary Newman and Dana Walden. "Arrested Development' is exactly the right property to roll out on these exciting new media platforms. It's a win for both the loyal and passionate fans who adored the show during its network run and the millions more who will now have a chance to discover its genius."

MSN will have the exclusive portal rights to syndicate the show for a three-year term, making this critically acclaimed series available to the masses for the first time online. As part of the pact, MSN will produce and launch a new range of interactive entertainment elements to build a community for Bluth family fans, who are ferocious in their devotion to the hilarious, suddenly penniless and equally clueless clan. Later this year, all episodes of "Arrested Development" will be streamed on MSN® Video and available on demand at no cost to MSN customers. Advertising opportunities associated with the online syndication of the series include display and streaming video plus sponsorship packages incorporating MSN media and in-content integration.

"On TV, 'Arrested Development' created an incredibly passionate and dedicated fan base, and we're thrilled to bring this series to the global MSN audience," said Rob Bennett, General Manager of Video and Entertainment Services for MSN. "Our collaboration with Fox Entertainment Group further demonstrates MSN's commitment to being the best source of great entertainment content online."

HDNet will have exclusive HD television access to the series for three years. The leader in high definition television, HDNet will begin airing "Arrested Development" episodes in September on its network, which is available through both cable and satellite platforms. HDNet produces a slate of original series and has licensing deals with a number of entertainment providers as well.

"We're very excited to add 'Arrested Development' to our lineup of critically acclaimed, high definition programming," said Mark Cuban, President and Co-Founder of HDNet. "Our mission is to offer exclusive, award-winning shows that our viewers can and have grown emotionally attached to and that further extend HDNet's lead as the network for television like you have never seen before!"

G4, the fastest growing network for 2006 and the number one podcasted network in the country, targets the male 18-34 audience. It has acquired the basic cable rights for the series for three years which it will begin airing in October 2006.

G4 President Neal Tiles added, "Irreverence, cleverness and a wry sense of humor are all key attributes the G4 brand shares with 'Arrested Development.' This is a perfect fit with our audience's sensibility."

Begs the question: "Do you even watch your own network???"

I was kinda hoping someone like TBS would pick up the re-runs, but I don't know if they'd be able to squeeze it in between their 60 daily airings of Everybody Loves Raymond.

Terrible show.

"Waymond, why does mom like you."

Why is Will Arnett's delivery so perfect.

Just rewatch "S.O.B.'s" for his waiter routine.

The way he says "As you please!" and "I'm sorry, we're all out of the halibut" kills me every time.

Plus "If you didn't have adult-onset diabetes, I wouldn't mind giving you a little sugar."

I'll watch the show cause its on HDNet.

HDNet - the home for cancelled television series in HD!

Where else can you watch such classic shows as The Agency, Boomtown, Philly, Hack, Jake 2.0, Life on a Stick, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Greg the Bunny, Robbery Homicide Division, Clubhouse, Joan of Arcadia, Dead Like Me (!!), Summerland, Second Time Around, Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Odyssey 5, all in HD(this so sounds like the beginning of the first new episode of Family Guy..)

Plus actual classics such as Charlies Angels, Hogan's Heroes, Wiseguy, and I guess Smallville and Enterprise.

Hey man, don't be dissing Andy Richter Controls The Universe. I thought was a unique and most importantly, funny little show.

However feel free to diss Andy Richter's other short lived show, Quintuplets

As SNL in HD has proved, HD doesnt make shows that aren't funny any funnier, but I'll watch it cause its in HD and Im always looking for HD shows to watch.

If that's what it takes, so be it. However, it's already quite funny in regular definition, so that's good.

You better damn well believe that I bought the set. I've had it since release day, and of course it's a great set.

AD remains my favorite TV show of all time, I don't see how anything can ever top it. That said, The Office is now my "new AD". I've heard a lot of other people say the same thing as well.

Bring on an AD movie!

I bought Season 3 on release day as well. I've watched all of the episodes, but I haven't listened to any of the commentary tracks yet.

Why would HD make a show funnier?

I like the way the 3rd season of show had a multitude of famous guest stars and who do they put on the back of the box?

80s sitcom actors Scott Baio and Justine Bateman. :D

I'm sure this was mentioned before...but does anyone else remember another Jason Bateman sitcom called "Its Your Move"?

Same here. I'll probably be watching it at least two more times through, since various people want to see this after I introduced them to the show through glorious DVD.

I'm disappointed more wasn't done with the set, though. The commentaries don't do much for me, since there's too many people to make anything of substance happen. And since this is for now, the last we'll see of these people, it would've been nice for some more in-depth features.

I started watching the show on G4 last night. I've never seen it before, but I already love it.

I was didn't watch all of The Sopranos before i first saw AD, so when I finally went through all episodes of The Sopranos last year, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Will Arnett as the FBI chick's husband.

AD really set certain people in stone for me as their AD characters. I doubt I'll ever be able to see Will Arnett as anyone other than Gob, David Cross as Tobias Fünke, Tony Hale as Buster, and so on. I don't think it'll hurt how I see them in future roles, but I'll always think of AD every time I ever see any of these guys in anything else.

The same goes for other aspects of the show - Christmas Time is Here, The Final Countdown, etc.
