strummer 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 Glavine is having such an underated second half. Hes been terrific. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> without a doubt. I credit it to finally throwing inside to right handed hitters and mixing in a lot more curves instead of just fastball/change, fastball/change. His old style of pitching just wasn't going to cut it anymore, he deserves a lot of credit for changing a style he won with for nearly 20 years.

Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 30, 2005 Yeah and you wonder why I am pissed that the Blue Jays blew the game. All the Yankees needed was one win to clinch the division. I guess I am the only Yankee fan here who wants to see the team make it to the playoffs.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 30, 2005 Thanks alot Blue Jays for blowing the game. I love how the Blue Jays had the bases loaded with one out in the 5th inning and failed to score a run.

PLUS, if they hadn't dropped 2 of 3 to New York, Boston would be in a better position, too. But, yeah, if the Yankees miss the playoffs, it'll be Toronto's fault. mike546 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 Sure I'm angry they lost, but what can you do? Would you have rather had the Sox sweep or win three out of four, leaving us tied going into tomorrow? I'm thankful the Jays played there asses off, giving us a lead for tomorrow. Also, Papelbon probably can't pitch tomorrow, so its Timlin and Hansen (will he handle pitching in this kind of atmosphere?) and the rest of not so good Boston relievers. Not that I can say much about ours beside Mo and Gordon.

Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 So al you are allowed to complain about your Phillies but I cant complain about the Blue Jays blowing a game???? Wow I love the hypocrisy on this board.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Worst definition of hypocrisy ever.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 30, 2005 I will state this. If the Yankees cannot win one at least one game in Boston and a Playoff game on monday in the Bronx they have no right to make it to the playoffs. If I complain ban me but I know I am not going to complain. Yankees have to take care of business as they have destiny in their own hands. Bobbie please mind your own business. Shouldn't you be writing reviews for horrible tv shows like Saturday Night Live and praising ugly skanks like Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan.

Boon 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 Dude- as a Sox fan, I hoped that it would come down to this series. As a Yankees fan, you should hope that your team has to play their greatest rival. Shit- not only as a Yankees fan, but as a baseball fan. This is what it's about for fans like you and me, dude. Would you rather the Yanks got in b/c someone else lost, not b/c they earned it? Lame, dude.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 I love David Ortiz. This felt like a playoff game. I haven't really gotten into games this season like I did tonight. Manny's homer was HUGE. A perfect time for him to bust out of his funk. Obviously, Ortiz's blast in the 8th was awesome. But Jonathan Papelbon continues to show that he belongs here. Even after the double to Hinske in the 9th, he settled down and got Zaun to pop out. NESN showed him calmly walking off the mound, like he was unfazed. This weekend series will decide who goes to the playoffs. I think Cleveland throws everything they have at the White Sox, giving them the wildcard and leaving the Red Sox/Yanks loser as the odd team out.
