You also saw AJ Stlyes as having nothing to offer in a match, so I am going to just guess this was another case of seeing only what you wanted to see.

I dont really trust my live judgement, i think ill wait to see the tape before deciding how good a performance Styles turned in. Id like for you to explain how A.J has "good pacing" when he was using the same moves a minute in as he was in the finishing run though.

People are starting to confuse "overrated" with "not very good".

AJ is very good.  He is just constantly called the best.  But at the end of the day, he is still very good.

Styles can control the pace of the match and it still could be better than HBK/Angle.

Styles is good, but TNA and the Styles fanatics all tout him as "the best", when they've obviously been overlooking his lack of long-term selling and his tendency to try to get all of his spots in a match, which keeps him from being as good as Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, etc.

Ironically, HBK and Angle have the same flaws. But at least the anti-HBK/Angle people don't go crazy and start calling them "awful" or what have you. I guess it's natural to get into the mindset that overrated wrestlers are awful, even though they're actually good. It happens with certain matches too. Some people can stay objective, but a lot of people can't.

Seriously? That's all anti-Michaels people do, besides talking about 'teh politikz~!'

I've yet to see anyone call HBK "awful" or "not good at all", other than when talking about specific skills that he doesn't excel at. And if people do, it's certainly not as bad as some wrestlers get it.

Lets not turn this into another HBK 'overrated' thread.

AJ Styles undeniable has all the tools to be the best wrestlers in North America. But he lacks a fair amount of fine tuning.

Everybody has been talking about WWE style working and I have yet to see people mention TNA style working. TNA has been encouraging the X-Div guys to be "high impact" and basically spotty workers because that is their appeal over WWE right now. AJ Styles being at the forefront of this movement means he has to sacrifice good pacing for fast pacing, and good selling for decent selling. With all this in mind, AJ and Daniels will still put on a much better match.... no question.

How fucking blindly in love with the guy would you have to be to see the words "Shawn Michaels is really good, not one of the best of all time" and read them as "Shawn Michaels is awful"? I mean seriously, such levels of blind fanboy worship are beyond my level of comprehension.

Daniels/Styles will most likely be better.

But Angle/Michaels would get so much closer if they can come up with a better match story than Angle beats HBK down, HBK makes a Jesus comeback, repeat two or three times during the 30 mins. But I doubt they will.
