This was like a rap battle where Rapper A disses Rapper B and Rapper B responds (harsh mind you) and then Rapper A responds again.

 

+ WWE releases 'The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior'. Warrior does not make any profit over it and the DVD features Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan, Triple H, Hulk Hogan, and many more bashing the Warrior. Byte This asks Warrior to call in and respond to the DVD

 

+ Warrior releases a statement with harsh comments bashing the DVD, Byte This, Todd Grisham, Droz, Vince McMahon, Triple H, Bobby Heenan and many more.

 

+ Byte This has Matt Stryker parody the Warrior's response on Byte This.

I will always respect Warrior for his work on the mic, in the ring, and in any forms of entertainment or work he pursued that I watched. I will say this he comes off as an outspoken asshole at times but that doesn't affect his legacy for me. However, his choice of words at times do make me lose respect for Jim Warrior, Jim Hellwig, or Warrior or whatever the hell his name is.

 

WWE is a promotion I used to respect and enjoy. Never as much as WCW, but as their product's quality has decreased in recent years..I've noticed that their staff's quality of human beings decreases as well, or becomes more evident to me. WWE not only made the Warrior look stupid they made themselves look stupid as well. If Warrior was so bad, such a dick...why continue to push him and shell out cash...and to take it a step further..why bring in guys with even less talent, less charisma, and less popularity after their pushes then Warrior. Hell, why waste money on someone who "never hit his potential" *wink wink nudge nudge* if he wasn't really that good.

 

Who won?

 

Any wrestling fans who enjoy both the promotion and the legend who had to watch, read, and list to this bullshit over the past few years.

Vince may be Big Brother, but in this case (and probably only this case) he was right to bury Warrior. Then again, it wasn't a fair fight since Warrior is so far removed from reality. Vince understands reality, he just wants to control and change it.

WWE has won this battle by far.

 

First of all, the DVD will be seen and available to many more people than a message on Warrior's webpage.

 

And second, Warrior has said time and time again that he is finished with the WWE, doesn't care, and has moved on. He more or less said he didn't care about the DVD before it was released, but wrote another 5000 word Warrior manifesto to refute the entire thing. I think a couple of people here called him on that.

 

Warrior fell right into WWE's trap, in my opinion. They issued an open invitation on Byte This, knowing that he would decline, but knowing that he would post a rambling message on his website that they could exploit and say "Look! He really IS a nutcase!"

Its all in Warrior's handling of the situation. Instead of exposing WWE's classlessness, he proved them right with his bizarre, insane commentary. He could have reacted with maturity (and thus highlight the immaturity of WWE), but he chose to use a couple of weak, homophobic personal jabs. It would have at least been nice if Warrior had learnt the value of brevity before embarking on these giant, incoherent rants. It's amazing that someone who is such a footnote of wrestling history can have such a delusional, ridiculously inflated sense of self-importance.

I think both sides are right. Warrior was, and is, a fruitcake, who was wildly successful with fans because they didn't know the real man. He was not very good in the ring and he probably didn't do a very good job of protecting people. Maybe he was only in it for himself, we can't say.

 

And Warrior is probably right that they are doing a hatchet job for personal gain and Triple H is a dickhead.

 

Having said that...of the two, the WWE sounds less like a child than Warrior.

 

Warrior should have taken the high road and said, "I made lots of money. I made WWE lots of money. I may not have been the best wrestler, but the fans loved the character of Warrior. And they still do to this day."

After watching the Warrior DVD, I really kinda felt sorry for the guy. I know he may be a little nutty and he has problems, but regardless of his ego and emotional instability he really did seem to care about the fans a lot of the time. Although he disappeared and disappointed the fans sometimes, I know in his little fantasy world he felt he was doing the right thing. He really loved having support and going out there and giving 100% even if his 100% was only a 20th of the wrestling ability of even Hogan.

 

On the flipside, he was also ingrateful, egotistical and a maniac. And his response to the DVD was probably one of the most retarded and ridiculous things I've ever read in my life. He took a HORRIBLE potshot at Grisham and Droz, especially Droz. Potshotting somebody like Droz, who as far as I know has done nothing wrong to the Warrior, is absolutely undeniably fucked up. I can't believe he even CONSIDERED calling Droz a cripple, let alone go through with it. And for that, FUCK YOU WARRIOR.

 

Put yourself in Droz's shoes.. he loved the wrestling business and STILL loves the wrestling business. He never buries anybody, never blamed D-Lo, never blamed Vince, and rarely (if ever) insults somebody publicly. This poor guy is paralyzed from the waist down and can never walk again. And this peice of SHIT Warrior needs to beg for god's forgiveness for having the audacity to publically call him a cripple.

 

I dont care how pissed off you are, calling somebody who is paralyzed a "cripple" is probably one of the most dirty, low down, outright embarassing things you could ever allow to leave your mouth. He seems to have the maturity of a 12 year old.

 

THEN.. on top of that, he basically stated that Bobby Heenan deserves to die a horrible cancerous death. I dont care what kind of fucking disagreements you guys have and I dont care how much you dislike the other person.. even if somebody buries you, how could you possibly laugh in the face of somebody dying from cancer? And then he made reference to "karma" being a bitch, without realizing that by retaliating in such a drastic and disgusting manner.. if karma truly exists HE will be the one dying a slow, cancerous, paralyzed, dreadful, braindead death.

Nobody won. WWE put out one of their worst DVDs ever, which will probably sell a bunch of copies, the Warrior's got the attention he craves and I had to read and hear some fucking garbage from Warrior and WWE (but mostly Warrior).

 

I prefer WWE by far, but they're just as stupid for starting all of this mess.
