spman Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 My TiVo rcorded this for me tonight, while I was at work. It actually was a very good show, featuring interviews with all the current stars, including legends like Heenan, and other guys like Sean Mooney, Mike Chioda, and others. Very good look back on some awesome moments in RAW history, including the first show, and some very memorable debuts. If you didn't catch this tonight, make sure you watch it after RAW tomorrow.
Guest Amy Ace Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 It was great to see them recognize Owen on the show, I give the WWE big props for that.
Guest fanofcoils Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Not surprising at all, they already recognized that as a special moment a dozen times.
spman Posted October 3, 2005 Author Report Posted October 3, 2005 I also just relaized that this show has the first clips of the stuff Bret Hart filmed a few months ago in Stamford.
JN News Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I thought the show was pretty good, as I marked out for Bret Hart & Sean Mooney.
Guest fanofcoils Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I didn't like the show from what I saw, everything has been shown before. WWE tried something different when they FINALLY showed the "lose my smile" incident of HBK on their website, after like not showing it ever after 1997. I would like to see different big segments of Raw that haven't been shown over and over on specials like these or on past Confidential episodes or whatever.
Guest Amy Ace Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I thought the show was pretty good, as I marked out for Bret Hart & Sean Mooney. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How can you not mark out for Bret?
Enigma Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I want screencaps of Mooney on the double.
MillenniumMan831 Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I didn't even know Mooney was ever on Raw. I hope he did an Alfred Hayes tribute or something.
dubq Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Question, were there twin Mooney's or did they just switch his name mid way? I have clear memories of someone named Ian Mooney who looked exactly like Sean Mooney, and did the exact same job as him.
BHK Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 How can you not mark out for Bret? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Fro Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I thought it was worth watching, particularly the first couple segments (SEAN MOONEY IS ALIVE!) and the Owen one (with the RETURN OF BRET HART). Foley and a couple of the other guys are pretty candid in describing some of the stuff that sucks. Some of the other segments were bad/boring and WWE focused a little too much on some wrestlecrap moments. It didn't just focus on the stuff that you'd expect, and they had guys talking about people you thought they'd never mention again who are no longer with the company and who have burnt bridges.
JimmyHendricks Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I started watching about 10 minutes in....I missed Sean Mooney! Nooooooo! Anyone know if this will re-air again? Bret talking about how he wished he "Would have been with this company when Owen had his accident" was a little surreal. I hope WWE doesn't show any more of him, because I want everything on his DVD to be new stuff.
Jericholic82 Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 when is this on? I mena what day was this yesterday or today? (monday) its on usa? Im on the west coast btw and its currently 11:35 PST on Monday.
Guest jumpingbombangel Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Who's Sean Mooney? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The late 80s-early 90s announcer. He was in WWE for years; I bet he looks more like Sean Hannity now than Sean Mooney.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 For those that missed it, it's airing again right after Raw tonight.
Jericholic82 Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 For those that missed it, it's airing again right after Raw tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ok thanks oh I see they are airing it agasint the TNA replay on spike right? lol

The special is around 11-ish to 12ish. TNA replay is 12-1. So, if you wish, you have 5 hours of wrestling to deal with!

NoCalMike Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 I had almost forgotten how many ECW marks brought signs to WWE shows during the attitude era. I mean in almost every shot that goes with the attitude era, there is 3-4 ECW signs in plain sight.
Jericholic82 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 Saw it after RAW, pretty cool show. The owen part was very sad. and you have to love Vince burying WCW and complaing about the monday night wars (they tried to put me out of business, boo hoo). Can you say hypocrite vince?
The Tino Standard Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 and you have to love Vince burying WCW and complaing about the monday night wars (they tried to put me out of business, boo hoo). Can you say hypocrite vince? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, just one difference: Vince actually got the job done. And history is written by the winners.
