Guest ChikoDemono Report post Posted January 17, 2006 I don't suppose anybody has picked up the new Best of Christopher Daniels DVD, yet. If so, is it worth the $25?
Silence 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 Why does the same Morphoplex commercial with the fat Mexican on it show up every Saturday during Impact? Did Morphoplex run out of commercials to show, or is it because not too many people want to try out their product?
Carnival 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 I find it funny that former Buffalo Bill Darrell Talley is on that commercial looking like a cracked out skinny version of his former self.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 Although with Sting pinning Jarrett, it appeared that they'd headline TNA's next PPV (if history was to be used as an indication), Meltz says Christian's getting the shot (which the past three months of build indicate). Here's what he said: --The next TNA PPV card will be announced tonight. The main event will be Jeff Jarrett vs. Christian Cage for the NWA title unless something has changed in the last 24 or so hours. So, do we see the switch here or do they dare risk alienating the Christian fans and keep the chase going, a la Team 3D?
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 So, do we see the switch here or do they dare risk alienating the Christian fans and keep the chase going, a la Team 3D? The only way I'd approve of Jarrett winning is if Christian gets completely screwed over and then takes the belt in a hot rematch the next month. So in TNA language, that means Jarret will retain in the first match, and win the rematch as well.

What actually might happen is that Christian wins the belt at Against All Odds, and then loses it back to Jarrett at Destination X or a March Primetime Special. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2006 It sure would seem strange if Christian was NWA champ & Edge was WWE champ. I personally would LOVE to see that happen. Think about it...if Edge and Kurt keep their titles up to Christian winning the NWA title, then Team ECK will dominate my signature!

Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 18, 2006 They're staying steady, and they have a core fanbase. But will they ever get 1.0 in that timeslot? It's not looking like it. They need more advertising or something. Right now it's just the same people watching the show every week. They aren't expanding their viewing audience. TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2006 Well the Monday replay scored higher than the Saturday showing for the first time ever, according to PWI. Here's the report: For the first time ever, the repeat Monday airing of TNA Impact on Spike TV did a better number than the original Saturday night showing. As Mike Johnson reported earlier, the 1/14 edition of Impact did a 0.8 cable rating, with a 1.4 share. The 1/16 replay did a 0.9 cable rating, with a 2.6 share, by far the highest number that they have ever done in the Monday time slot. The replay was helped by a big lead-in from the UFC special that preceded it, which did a 1.7 cable rating and a 3 share.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2006 It would be great for TNA to get more viewers, but holding steady is better than losing viewers. It shows they aren't running people off. Yet.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2006 It also shows they were able to retain the same crowd as UFC(Spike's #1 focus right now). That's important to note.

Guest Desperate Housewife Report post Posted January 23, 2006 -- Backstage TNA politics have certainly taken a toll on Samoa Joe, who has visibly lost the upbeat demeanor he expressed upon first joining the company. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2006/articles/1137976970.php

Magus 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 Using that rumor as a segueway to this one, I just read that the plan for Sting is to have him stay away for about two months while Jarrett and his crew continue to run him down every week, thus forcing him to come back for revenge. To me, this is a VERY shitty way to use Sting.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 Legend-types like Sting shouldn't wrestle much, because the more they do so the less they mean each time out. What would you instead?

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 -- In order to display a consistent disciplinary policy, it is likely that Apolo - similar to what happened with Jeff Hardy and Sean Waltman - will be temporarily suspended for missing the Final Resolution PPV. As reported, he missed the show due to problems with his flight. I really hope they aren't going to suspend the guy if missing the flight wasn't his fault. Papacita 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 Legend-types like Sting shouldn't wrestle much, because the more they do so the less they mean each time out. Granted, but why bring him in with all this hype and treat him as if he's gonna be THEE big time player for TNA if your plan is to use him sparingly (assuming this rumor is true). That's just gonna leave a lot of people disappointed.

Granted, but why bring him in with all this hype and treat him as if he's gonna be THEE big time player for TNA if your plan is to use him sparingly (assuming this rumor is true). That's just gonna leave a lot of people disappointed. Exactly. To my mind, TNA should be trying to get more mileage out of Sting with all the money and hype they've invested in him. There's way more creative ways to further the Sting/JJ fued than just having Jarrett talk shit for two months. It'll make Jarrett's other challengers look like crap because JJ will be talking about Sting all the time instead of focusing on them. By no means do I want Sting's presence to overshadow guys like Christian, Monty, or Abyss (well, that'll probably happen anyway), but he should be there more. TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 PWI says that TNA will be bringing back the World X Cup this May. Mike Johnson wrote that he was not sure how they would format it, since if I remember correctly, the first time they did it, they taped it for weeks leading up to the show and then aired it on a week they didn't run a live 2 hour PPV. I'd say that they need to use either World X, Super X or a Victory Road '04 like guantlet to really separate Destination X from the rest of the shows and make it an X-Division centered show. You've already got LockDown if you want to see bloody brawls, why night have a PPV where you know u're guaranteed a night of high-flying action. Just a thought... Carnival 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Good news about the X cup. TNA needs: some Nosawa action! TNA doesn't need: Essa Rios in a thong.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2006 Maybe this should have its own thread but as for now... Samoa Joe is injured with a "severe staph infection" according to ROH and canceled for this weekend which was a big one with the Daniels/Joe blow-off doubleheader in Ohio. Low Ki will replace him on the card.
