Eminem Putting Finishing Touches on Just Announced Greatest Hits Collection

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/

Eminem has announced plans to release Curtain Call,a best of/greatest hits album, set to be in stores on December 6th. The Aftermath/Interscope recording artist is putting some last minute work in on the project and hopes to have final song selection completed in the next few days.

People can expect the both the blockbuster hits and fan favorites that have made Eminem a household name and one of the leading mc's in the rap game. "My Name Is," "The Way I Am," "Lose Yourself," and "Stan" will be featured on the collection, along with at least two all-new, previously-unavailable, so-fresh-from-the-studio-we-aren't-even-giving-you-the-song-title songs.

Eminem is in the process of putting the final touches on the album, which he has been working on since early summer.

"I have some songs that a lot of people like," commented Eminem. "I have some songs that only I like. This album is obviously for the 'lot' of people."

Eminem has sold over 65 million albums worldwide to date.

Well, it was only a matter of time.

:bonk:

Hope some Infinite stuff makes it.

I just pray it's not his last album.

^ Well, he's had 6 if you count The Slim Shady EP. 7 if you count the 8 Mile OST, but that's pushing it.

Hope some Infinite stuff makes it.

Word.

I can't see this being good. Nothing on Encore is really worth preserving, and none of the singles were actually "hits." The few good tracks on The Eminem Show won't make it since they weren't singles. Should make plenty of money, though.

I'd go with...

Lose Yourself (Em's only No.1 hit)

8-Mile Road

Till I Collapse

Without Me

Sing For The Moment

Cleaning Out My Closet

Stan

The Real Slim Shady

The Way I Am

Criminal

My Name Is

Guilty Conscience

Role Model

Rock Bottom

New Song # 1

New Song # 2

Mockingbird

And fill up the rest with Infinite songs.

What sucks though is historically artisits put out greatest hits CD's on two occasions: 1- You are no longer with a label due to contracts expiring and so the label tries making money off of you by releasing songs they already own the rights too 2- You no longer wish to be an artisit so rather then workign and creating new songs you just put together a callaboration of older ones.

Now we know it can't be the first reason since he has his own label, what if he is deciding to leave rap or at least leave bign an artist (cuz Im sure he'd still do some producing).

Umm, I'm sure that he has more or less indicated that he is done with rap music, and will just stick with producing and running his label.

Its funny. You can pretty much tell that he isn't going to like most of the songs on there. He hated My Name Is but you KNOW its going to be on there.

To this day, I wonder why Em has so much ill will toward The Slim Shady LP as a whole. He never performs any songs from that album when he's on tour. It was a solid debut album. If I were him, I'd be more embarrassed of Encore than the SSLP.

Nobody ever retires. Musicians are like boxers, they can't leave. He'll "retire" for a year or two and then come back with another album.

Yeah I don't doubt what you're saying. I was just responding to the poster earlier who thought that Eminem might consider retiring, when this all but confirmed anyways.

cash rules everything around him...

Dolla, dolla bill yall.

I'd be surprised to see anything from Encore. I find it hard to believe anyone liked anything from there. Other than teenage girls.

Not even the radio stations cared for Encore. The only song from that album that got play was "Mockingbird". The rest of the singles from that album ("Just Lose It", "Mosh", "Like Toy Soldiers", and "Ass Like That") all flopped.

that's exactly why that stuff WILL be on there....I hate to say it, but if anyone thinks his actual singles WON'T be on this thing, you're nuts...there may be a song or two that wasn't made a single, but I doubt it...

Damnit Encore wasn't that horrible! It was worse than all his others, but still...

Evil Deeds - The Beat is great - Annoying hook - decent flow

Never Enough - Great verse - blah song

yellow brick road - not good- but not the worst

like toy soldiers - amazing

mosh - great

puke - good beat - annoying hook

My 1st Single - horrible hook, great verses, don't like the beat

rain man - i can stand it, but another annoying hook

crazy in love - great

mockingbird - i like the beat, it's ok

the rest are unlistenible for me, but still thats like 10 songs i can tolerate, and like 5 i really like, i think thats better than any other BS put out today, it's just not a very percentage for an eminem cd.

While the album was a disappointment, I somewhat agree with Carnival. I thought Like Toy Soldiers, Crazy In Love and Mosh were all very good tracks, while Yellow Brick Road, One Shot 2 Shot and Em's verse in Spend Some Time all ranking as solid.

The entire CD didn't come close to living up to the par of the rest of his albums, but I didn't find it to be a complete loss. Guess I'm in the minority.

I think those four songs sum up his change in character from 2000 to today perfectley, suddenley he cares about things around him and hes become a self parody.

We only have ourselves to blame, if those 5 tracks hadn't leaked in 04 then he would have had to include such shit on there.

"monkey see monkey do" was good - a little diss to ICP in there, i love it

"bully" was great, i stll want a better quality version of it

"Can-i-bitch" was ok

"Love you more" - thrown on the extra cd

"we as americans" great song, also an extra

He said in a XXL interview that after those leaked, he didn't want to include them on the album, so he made some more tracks to put on there. Which I'm sure were the shitty songs, that were suppossed to be funny or something like "Big Weenie".

Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time (50 & Obie really saved this one), Mosh & Yellow Brick Road were the only songs worth listening to on the album.

Mumbles never saved anything in his life, he does nothing but bring songs down.

I'm not the biggest 50 fan either but you have to admit he kills his hooks about 8 times outta 10 (listen to Tony Yayo- So Seductive, Young Buck - Bonafide Hustla).

On rare occassions he'll come through w/ a hot verse on a song but he really shines on hooks.

I can agree with that.

He isn't a very bad rapper, his skills are ok, it's just his flow and his mumbles i don't like.
