White Sox/Angels ALCS Thread

I'm shocked there were no "Why is Ozzie overusing his starters?!" constroversy.  Usually sports radio idiots like to think a pitcher going complete game is a bad thing.

They didn't throw that many pitches. Contreras threw 114, Garcia 118, Garland 118, Buherle 99. This is all after a week where neither of them started.

I was just pointing out that sports radio people are idiots regardless.

Obviously they didn't pitch high pitch counts, i guess the whole shitty umpire crew was just too juicy to resist devoting hours on.

A pitcher can throw 115-120 pitches and be just fine. It just depends how much trouble he has to pitch out of and how hard he has to work. It just varies game to game. The four complete games none of the pitchers got into a lot of trouble that is why they were left in.

Congrats to the White Sox. It's actually refreshing to watch baseball and not be pacing around the room, smoking or otherwise being too emotionally involved in the outcomes. This game was good, this series was good. Congrats to the White Sox.

The Yanks couldn't even handle the Angels pitching staff, so I don't think they would've done any better. Arod choked....again

If people are going to hop on A-Rod for choking, better start hopping on Vladdy Daddy. He laid a fucking egg. His only hit was an infield single. Start piling on!

Vlad sure did try swinging at everything like usual. Grab some pine with you boy A-Rod. They sure can hit in that Pepsi commercial.

LIES! ALL LIES! THE UMPS SCREWED THEM!

The Umps suck, but if you can't hit the ball you go home.

Congratulations to the White Sox.

Too bad that the only White Sock that I actually like, the one who truly deserves a ring after the career he had, will be the one that's sitting out.

What happened to Matt Young's Angel's flag?

I can't believe we're one game away from Chi Sox v. Astros.

Disgusting.

I don't have an Angels flag. I have a Dodgers one because their CF Jayson Werth went to my high school and I follow the team, although I wouldn't say I'm a fan, per se.

I just realized... if we get an Astros/White Sox WS, the sports' media sympathy meter will go through the roof.

Of course we'll hear a shitload about the Black Sox, but we'll also probably be bombarded with Houston's hard-luck history as well as Biggs and Baggs being a long playing duo without a ring.

Between Bags/Biggio, Clemens, the horrible start, Pettite, Berkman coming back from knee surgery, the young kids like Burke coming up big in the postseason, Lidge's dominance.......there's an assload of stories with the Astros

The White Sox have been hyped all year, I just don't think it ever caught on.

How funny is it that a couple weeks ago we were talking about the ChiSox collapsing and missing the playoffs? The Indians could have changed the course of history if they avoided that total meltdown

Now that Houston's involvement in the WS is almost inevitable, I think it's time to back them. As much as I dislike them, it's time to see Biggio and Bagwell get their rings.
