What were some great Sega Genesis games?

Recommended Posts

WWF RAW, ESPN National Hockey Night, Any Sonic, NBA JAM TE (secret codes to play as Bill Clinton and Will Smith among others ? AWESOME.) and a little known game called Charles Barkley: Shut up and Jam (A street ball game, like NBA jam-2 on20, and in "career mode" you play a tournament thru the many areas-like the beach, a warehouse, a playground, etc. and if you make it to the end you play Barkley and a partner in an arena) I only like that cuz I have it lol

Oh, and Perry released some statement about what he thought about the Revolution controller, and everyone who read it was trying to remember a game he was involved in within the past 7 years.

He did the Matrix game.

You mean the one that sucked or the one that suuuuucked?

I know of it, because it's why Barkley was removed from NBA Jam. I have a Genesis copy with Barkley in it, though.

The sequel had Godzilla dunks.

NBA Live 96 was the perfect basketball game. a good CAP system, it had pretty much every major basketball star from the 60s to the then present day, the gameplay was awesome...

Gunstar Heroes is the best action platformer ever made, IMO.

Shining Force I and II were excellent, and Street Fighter II SCE has much better gameplay than its SNES counterpart.

Could somebody hook me up with an Alien Soldier ROM that actually works? The ones I've d/led leave me with just a red screen, even if Auto-Detect for region is set.

Tiny Toons Busters Hidden Treasure

A Konami title, I believe, but could you please elaborate on why it's so good? I'm sure I'm not alone in my skepticism.

Comix Zone is a good game and must be played. Side-scroller where the hero is trapped in a comic book, and when the screen is cleared and more villains are going to come after you a hand shows up and draws them in? Ownage.

Finally, someone said the name of that game. I remember back in the day, I read the mags, and I remember this Sega game sticking out. I just didn't remember the name. I can finally play it now..lol

There's this game I'm missing that was on Genesis: Some type of superpowered rodent (no, not Sonic) that was able to speed through levels at times. Any idea on what it was called? Maybe a Squirrel? I remember there being the score and such on top of the screen.

The only Genesis games that I ever got into were the original Sonic, Chakan:The Forever Man & Kid Chameleon.

The Sonic series was pretty good, but I'm a huge Streets of Rage mark (1 and 2 were awesome, haven't played enough of 3 to pass judgment). Golden Axe and Revenge of Shinobi are both good too.

The snes got the better deal on RKA with Sparkster

How do you mean?

Genesis got Sparkster as well, but I do know that the games were quite different. I'd heard most people say the Sega one was better, but the SNES one is a lot harder to find so I haven't played it yet.

*still waiting on the explanation about Buster's Hidden Treasure*

Gens

RKA may be it, but I would hope you'd be able to remember said rodent was dressed as a knight.

There aren't may good games that match that description, though. I doubt it was Awesome Possum or Bubsy.

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, perhaps? I'd venture that's a better game than Mr. Nutz (which also stars a squirrel).

Zero screens: http://www.consoleclassix.com/gameinfo_zer...uirrel_smc.html

Jacques Le Sheets is such an awful name for a villain.

Mr. Nutz screens: http://special.sudouest.com/portfolio.php3?id_document=552

Kid Chameleon is underrated, and it's not as hard as its rep claims.

Get, Mutant League...anything, they're all classic/horrible.

I loved the Mutant League series. A fun stress reliever for me was playing the football one, take a good team, turn up the death index, and see how long it took to kill off the Sixty-Whiners.
