Fantasy Football Help Redux

I have a QB issue, who should I start?

Brees (vs Philly)

Brunell (vs. SF)

Either are really good starts. I guess I'd go with Brunell, since they'll probably run a one-dimensional offense against a good Niners run defense.

As long as McNabb's in the saddle, I wouldn't bench LJ. Speaking of LJ

NOOOO! Why did I ever doubt you Larry Johnson? At least he's back to his yardage-munching ways. Thank you, Willie Roaf.

Culpepper, Eli Manning, or Roethlisberger?

I should probably drop one of them, too...

Quick thoughts...

Culpepper - though playing against Green Bay, in Minnesota, he's probably going to make the mistakes himself.

Manning - porous Denver secondary. Even with Dillon out for the Pats last week, Denver struggled against Brady going to the air. If Tiki keeps them honest, Manning should have a great game.

Roethlisberger - not in the shape he's in, and not against Cincinnati.

Go with Eli, though Culpepper has the favorable matchup.

Fuuuuck, Lamont Jordan TOTALLY saved my bacon this week. Can't blame myself for not starting Randy Moss, it's good too see he's not too hurt to get in the end zone.

All that McCown vs Warner drama didn't really matter..He started and stunk fantasy wise, no passes to BOLDIN! WTF? I went with Vick anyway and Im up like 35 points so..no worry. Im slightly worried about having to start him next week but I think there might be other options/trades..

I got big games out of Lamont Jordan, Donald Driver and Doug Gabriel, plus I left Kevin Curtis and his 95 total yards and a TD on the bench.

I got really lucky that McNabb, Tomlinson and Chad Johnson didn't have big fantsa days too.

I think Lamont Jordan is now the 4th-ranked fantasy RB in my league, behind Shaun, LT and Edgerrin Games. Ahead of such luminaries as Willis Mcgahee, Priest Holmes and, well, everyone else. Bet he finally gets some respect after this game. I tried to trade him and someone else for Kevin Jones and someone else and got "sorry, Lamont is garbage." Barring injuries (which will definitely occur) my keepers for next year are looking like:

Carson Palmer

Lamont Jordan

Randy Moss

Marvin Harrison

With Rudi Johnson and Larry Johnson waiting in the wings. I likey.

My potential keepers:

Carson Palmer

Lamont Jordan

Rudi Johnson

Larry Johnson

Randy Moss

Marvin Harrison

We can keep 4 players. I'm forward thinking, so I'm thinking of trading Rudi and an elite back for an elite RB. Perhaps Randy Moss and Rudi for Willis Mcgahee or Edggerin James. If I thought I could get Shaun I would.

I'm also seriously considering trading Randy Moss for Chad Johnson straight up. My love of the Bengals is coloring this deal, but Chad's young, and injury free.

About 2 months ago, did you ever think you'd be saying this?

Sadly not. Anyway, I won't be saying it again as the guy in my league who had Marc Bulger dumped him to pick up Jeff Garcia, so I snagged him off waivers. It puzzles me as to why someone would want to give up a QB who seems to get about 23 points a game(when healthy) for a mixed bag like Garcia, but, hey, I am not complaining. I just hope he'll be back by Week 10.

Oh yeah, I started Culpepper, and won my game pretty easily, even getting the most points for the week, despite starting an inactive Torry Holt. If everything works out well for my team, the rest of the season could well be a cake walk for me.

I have 4 RBs and not sure who to start:

Willis McGahee (against NE).....Patriots coming off a BYE and back in New England and the whole Patriots don't lose 2 games in a row etc

Willie Parker (against BALT)

Jerome Bettis

Ricky Williams (against NO)

The question is, out of those 4, which 2 do I start? Do I take a risk and start McGahee after what I said, or do I start Bettis and Parker, where at least one of them should do good or maybe Parker gets the yards but Bettis gets the touchdowns, so I get points from both. Then there's Ricky Williams.

My oppenent has Larry Johnson & Priest Holmes as his 2 RBs and he has 3 Pittsburgh Guys (Ward, Randel-El & Miller). So if those 2 teams fail, then I might have shot

Please give me your thoughts on who I should start

Well, that's a toughy.

Start Mcgahee for sure.

Against Balt, teams run for an average of 98.8 yds a game and .66 TDs a game. I don't know how heavily your league's yardage based, but I would tentatively suggest Willie Parker. The Ravens' O isn't going to be able to do a goddamn thing against the Steelers' D, and the Steelers love pounding the run and wearing the clock down. This favors Parker.

Ricky Williams is simply unstartable thus far.

I have Larry and Rudi Johnson. I'm thinking of starting Larry, just because Roaf is back and even though the Chargers have a vicious run defense, they HAVE given up a lot of rushing scores. Green Bay's given up 100 yds a game rushing, but that game's going to be all Palmer, all the time. Suggestions?

You gotta start Willis.

After that, I guess Parker since he will probably get more touches, and had a pretty good week last week. But if u dont start Willis, you r playing agianst logic.

My only concern about starting McGahee is the Patriots had a BYE week and are coming off a loss. I know their defense aint as good as it used to be but the return of Bruschi could regenerate the defense & force the Bills to throw

It's a tough decision but I guess I'll go with Parker and McGahee

You're crazy if you don't start Rudi against the Pack tomorrow. I don't know how the Packers will be able to hold onto the ball for more than the required four downs.

I can understand Steve Smith points considering receptions and yards being used but damn that is alot of points but the QB getting 62 is insane and should be a reason why completions should not be used as a stat ever.

Im up in the TSM league 65 - 48, and I would have been up more if I had played Bubba Franks instead of Jermaine Wiggins (Franks had about 14 more points than Wiggins). I got really lucky that Portis was held in check and FO started 2 Cleveland WRs, although Plummer had a better game than I was hoping he'd have. Sad thing is, even though Im up almost 18 points, I have Jamal Lewis for tomorrow night and Foreign Objects has Todd Heap, Willie Parker and the Steelers Defense...ugh..its going to be close but Im probably going to get beat unless the Ravens manage to get the first good game out of Jamal and put up points without going to Todd Heap...

I just saw the little red star/yellow box next to Boldin and after opening it up..I see Im screwed 7 ways from next tuesday, as he more than likely tore his miniscus in his right knee and will probably be out the rest of the season...

DAMNIT!!

To reiterate how screwed I am..this week I had as my 3 WR:

A. Boldin - 12.45

D. Driver - 8.8

K. Curtis - 14.25

Next week, due to injuries and bye weeks I have Driver, Bobby Engram (coming off not playing for a couple weeks due to broken ribs) and Eric Parker (best WR available on the waivers).

I did pick up Brad Johnson, and I'm going to dump McCown and Wiggins when I can, but theres not much WR help on the waivers and I had to dump Gabriel to pick up Johnson, but I figure he's back into fantasy obscurity with Moss playing more. Plus, Kevin Curtis is only going to be helpful as long as Holt and Bruce are out, and with the Rams on a bye week, he might not be much help in 2 weeks..

It's time to prepare for the playoffs. I just traded Rudi Johnson and Randy Moss for Tiki Barber.

This leaves me very strong at RB, with Riki, Lamont Jordan and Larry Johnson, while I still have Marvin Harrison, Jimmy Smith and Jurevicius at WR, which ain't bad.

EDIT: and that's a 22 point day for Delhomme in my league. Christ QB's are ridiculous in that league. I'd be winning on Carson Palmer alone. He's averaging 14 points a game for me, which makes him the second best QB and 10th best player overall.

QB Problem for this week:

Roethlisberger isn't playing due to knee surgery, so I have the choice betweenL

Brett Favre vs. Pittsburgh (Last Week: 5 INT vs Cincy)

Mark Brunell vs. Philly (Last Week: 0 Points vs. NYG)

Favre has been my starter all year, but the couple of weeks I used Brunell (Favre's bye week and one other) he did very well and has thrown 0 INTs in his last 3 games. Favre, on the other hand, is usually good for 250-300 Yards passing (Last week he had 315, 2 TD, 5 INT, which was good for exactly ONE point in Yahoo)

I also have a RB situation.

Clinton Portis vs. Philly

Warrick Dunn vs. Miami

Ronnie Brown vs. Atlanta

Portis & Dunn are the starters, but Portis never seems to do anything, while Brown has been rattling off 100-yard days with a few TDs sprinkled in. I'm thinking of benching Portis because he is facing the toughest D of the 3, but I know it will blow up in my face.
