Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Damn I guess I spoke too soon about that 3 int's thing.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 30, 2005 5 INT's being Favre's career high is surprising to me. I would've assumed he has done that before.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Maybe in the regular season. His actual career high was 6 INT's in the 2001 playoffs against the Rams. But yeah, 5 is a lot for him. He usually throws three if he's going to throw any at all. Also, as if things couldn't get worse injury-wise, Al Harris has been injured, but so has Chad Johnson, so that kinda evens it out there. 21-14 Bengals, they'll probably wrap up this game barring a late disaster. mike546 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Who knew emotion could help this team so much? Giants are just running over the Skins.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Missing from all this talk is the fact that the Texans are 2 minutes away from their first win. They're up 19-16 on the Browns at the warning, Cleveland has the ball on their own 40.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Either emotion, or the Skins' turnover problems (4 so far in this game). The real question I have is why, in a battle for first place in the NFC East, is Giants Stadium so fucking empty?
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 30, 2005 I'm rather disapointed in Cincinnati today. 5 Int's and couldn't score anymore then 21 pts for the day? and we're giving old man favre a chance to make a comeback here? Bad day.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Cleveland teases a comeback, getting down to the Houston 38, but then throwing incomplete on 4th and 17. Houston gets a win!
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 56 seconds left and now 95 yards to go for a win. I guess Favre will get a chance to match his career high in INTs here.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Sweet! Defensive P.I. and now in Bengals territory with the same amount of time left! woo woo
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Favre can't even throw the ball to a football player anymore...as a fan ran onto the field...and Favre threw the ball to him. Then Brett showed signs that he is DONE as he decided to fake a spike and run and then ran out of gas and collasped. Weird scene with the entire packer and bengals team getting him up and Favre crawling.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Ah fuck, nevermind. 1-6! GO PACKERS!

Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Ah fuck, nevermind. 1-6! GO PACKERS! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hate to say this but I believe Brett is done now. 5 ints and a shady decision at the end. The image of Brett Favre crawling on the ground trying to get up was rather sad.
Dogbert 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Years of wear and tear seem to have caught up to Favre. He just doesn't have it in the tank to drag the Packers to respectability right now... damned if he isn't trying, though.

You can see it in the eyes of his team-mates who wish they could fix it but they can't. It's really sad.

The image of Brett Favre crawling on the ground trying to get up was rather sad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He went up against a hell of a ballhawking defense with only 5 of the offensive starters being first stringers- Favre being one of them. The fact they even got close enough to tie it up on the road is proof enough he did his best, but I didn't watch the 5 interceptions. I'm almost positive at least 2-3 of those weren't his fault, since you've got shitty route-running and lesser talented receivers who can't make the grab for the ball. That's rather symbolic of him crawling on the ground, though. And really, really saddening. Anything short of a miraculous spiritual and physical healing in the Green Bay lockerroom wouldn't be enough to turn this season around. And I still wouldn't expect him to quit right away after this season, even though maybe he should at least perhaps finish out his contract, and maybe the organization will get its shit together in the offseason after truly learning that *gasp* the roster needs some work! NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 As bad as the Skins seemed to be today, on defense that is, the turnovers on offense killed them more then anything setting up the Giants with a short field. I believe the G-men scored off of every single turnover.

BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Bears win in OT, 19-13. Orton's looking better with every passing week and the defense is solid. Grossman doesn't have to come back anytime soon.
packwingfn 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 I agree with everything that Vitamin X said. When half your receiving core just got signed THIS week or from the practice squad....You can't blame Brett. He's trying EVERYTHING he can to get the victory and it just ain't happening now with the guys he has on his team, with no team chemistry etc. One thing that did impress me was the defesne today, I must say. Fire Sherman now and make Bates the head coach now!!!!

The spread on the GB/Cincy game was at 9.5, which I got in my favor.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 And the Lions choke in another insomnia inducing display of offense. Garcia at the helm is averaging about 13 points a game and throws an absolutely terrible pass in overtime, across his body on the run. It's taken back on the interception for a touchdown to put all football fans in general who had to watch this game, and Lions fans in particular, out of our misery. I point out the offensive output with Garcia leading, because around Michigan he was being heralded as the savior of the season by the fans. Well 2 games later, it's basically the same output, with a bit different spin. I don't think I'm for going back to Harrington as they've made the change already, and he had seemed to have lost the team. I guess I'll just have the naive eternal hope of the Lions fan hold me over, and hope when Rogers gets back and Roy Williams can play again, that they might break the 20 point barrier a few more times this year. Dogbert 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 I gotta ask... What was Jeff Garcia doing in there after the hit to the head that he took late in the 4th? Looked to me like he was concussed. You don't want a concussed QB in there in overtime; case in point, today.

As bad as Harrington's been, he's more likely to make the right decision at that point than Garcia was.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 The Packers lost to a damn good Bengals team by just 7 points, and aside from their opening week loss, 14-3 at Detroit, they have lost byno more than 3 points up until this week. They could easily be 5-2 or maybe 6-1 witha few breaks, and they're doing really well considering they're without their best receiver, Javon Walker, their best running back, Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, and others. With those guys, they'd have a much better record, but even without, they're barely losing. In the sorry NFC North, they could still win the division at 8-8. Still, it hurts to see them lose so often...
