Rambo IV has officially been greenlit.

 

So, Stallone will be doing both Rocky 6 and Rambo 4.

 

I wonder if both will get wide releases?

This will probably be Stallone's swan song.

 

I also think that both films will make a nice chunk of change, as they will appeal to many nostalgic fans.

 

Kind of like how Hogan in small doses still brings in revenue.

I'm not ruling out that either of Stallone's sequels will be quality as long as Sly writes a GOOD script for Rocky 6 (ie. Rocky Balboa losing to the younger champ and passing the torch to him) and Rambo IV (ie. training some newbs, or whatever). I'd like to see Rambo more like Sly's character in Copland, personally...just sorta normal.

i've been interested in Rocky 6 since the first few script pages got released in Stallone's magazine. It was good stuff.

I could give a fuck what the content of the new Rocky is as long as there is a training montage and some uber-cheesy "GO-FIGHT-WIN" music. Nothing and I mean NOTHING will ever top "Hearts on Fire" and "No Easy Way Out" though. Gotta say, it's just not Rocky without Eye of the Tiger.
