Lil' Bitch Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Considering ticket prices are up about one-third since 1998, "Legend of Zorro" drew only about half the crowds domestically as the first movie over opening weekend.
bob_barron Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 The movie will play well internationally, so it doesn't really matter.
Youth N Asia Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I'm going to pump another $2 into Serenity today Going to see Saw 2 this week. SHOCKED that it did so well, and pleased.
haVoc Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I'm going to see Saw II after work some time this week. Theater should be dead around 4:30pm. I hate a packed theater. Jarhead come out next week?
Lord of The Curry Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Anybody care to wager where Saw II will be next week? I'm saying below the Top Five because everybody who wanted to see it seemingly all saw it this weekend.
cabbageboy Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Nah, it won't fall that much. The #5 movie this week made just over 4 million...you're expecting Saw to fall from 30 million to roughly 5 million in 1 week? It'll probably make somewhere between 10-15 million next week.
devo Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Yeesh. I guess word spread fast about Doom.
RedJed Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Havent been following the box office numbers much in the past few months, but I saw a very bizzare film called Stay earlier today at Mall of America (not sure if I even recommend it or not as its such a complete clusterfuck, but in an enticing way) and shocked to not see it in the top ten, as I believe it just came out not too recently.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 SAW 2 was only big this weekend because of the holiday. It wont be in the top 5 next week.
Placebo Effect Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 SAW 2 was only big this weekend because of the holiday. It wont be in the top 5 next week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's no reason for it not to be in the Top 5. Chicken Little and Jarhead will be 1 and 2, and I don't see Zorro getting good word of mouth. I've heard great things about Saw II from tons of people.
2GOLD Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 It doesn't need to be honestly, it has earned it's part 3. The budget is only 4 million so it easily has the movie back. SAW 2 might do damn good on MONDAY being the only movie set for Halloween that wasn't a big of horseshit. And I don't see it falling too hard, even another 15 million is one hell of a take. Personally I hope it kicks the hell out of the upcoming releases as well.
tominator89 Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I can understand Doom falling. The people who wanted to see it either already did or are waiting to rent it.
