Jebus Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 From PWInsider.com: "Take this for what it's worth, but Dave and I have received word that the plan for Taboo Tuesday, as of yesterday, was for The Coach, with help from Mark Henry, to go over Steve Austin. We have also heard a story from a few people (and we want to stress that this is still a rumor at this time) that Austin was not happy about this scenario when he was told yesterday and it became an issue between him and the company." It's the biggest star in your company's history, for God's sake! (tied with Hogan at least) I hate you, WWE.
SamoaRowe Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I'm no Austin loyalist, but to have one of the biggest stars in company history come back from a two and a half year retirement to face a second tier announcer on a third tier pay-per-view and then LOSE to said announcer is just rediculous.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I think it's been QUITE OBVIOUS (to me, anyway) that Coach was gonna defeat Austin. I thought they'd have the McMahons rig it, and have a "verbal debate", with the Coach winning by shenanigans and Austin kicking his ass afterwards for 9-10 minutes, 'street fight' style (as to not upset the paying fans). JR's gone, people. Or at least the plan was for him not to come back. May have changed.
Guest clockworkraven Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Henry's backstage at RAW tonight. EDIT: Just noticed the board about the spoilers.
devo Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Mark fucking Henry?! Are they EVER going to give up on this guy?
cabbageboy Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 They are retarded if they go through with such a premise. Nevermind the JR stuff, Coach, etc. If Austin is going to wrestle Hogan at WM he absolutely CANNOT go around jobbing to a fucking 3rd rate announcer like the Coach. I mean that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
CBright7831 Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Like I said, the fans obviously want Austin to lose in a street fight. Why not have a verbal debate where Austin just mauls him and then kicks his ass? It would be alot safer, plus no interference.
iliketurtles Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 The world is not ready for a Austin/Henry program...so yeah.
Matt Young Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Fuck this, fuck WWE if they go through with it, and fuck Mark Henry's big, fat, untalented ass. I don't want JR back so soon, so if they have Austin lose a debate, as shitty as the whole thing would be, fine. But, as much as I am tolerant of WWE's bullshit and almost always enjoy their shows, I think I'll be sick if Austin loses an actual match to Coachman.
haVoc Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 If Jericho was returning to cost Austin the match would everyone's response be different?
Matt Young Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Not mine. I'd love to see Jericho return, but under no circumstances should Austin come out of retirement only to be pinned by an announcer.
haVoc Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 No one should give a damn enough about this match to care. That's what Austin gets for returning and feuding with another non-wrestler.
Downhome Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 I hope they make Austin look like a piece of shit in the match. I hope Mark Henry comes out and kicks his ass, then lets Coach get a ton of shots in, and then let Coach pin him 1-2-3. I don't care if they told Austin that he was going to go into the match and kick Coach's ass to get JR his job back, and I don't care if they changed their plans. It serves him right, since he shouldn't have agreed to take part in such a bullshit storyline in the first place. Maybe it'll teach him a lesson about WWE once and for all. And if that doesn't work:
cameron chaos Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 "Welcome back Steve, how about you lay down for an announcer after his fat failure we can't release due to our own stupid contract jumps you and beats you down? That way your best friend in the company is guaranteed to never show his face on TV again. There's a good boy." No wonder he is pissed. I assume this is because he doesn't want to do the Hogan program where he was going to lose because of Hulk's creative control clause. So now rather than laying down for Hogan, he's going to lay down for Coach after Henry jumps him.
BHK Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Mark fucking Henry?! Are they EVER going to give up on this guy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As I siad in the other thread, his contract is up next year. So expect this to be his last run with the company, as I doubt they'll be renewing it.
