MNF for Nov 7: Colts vs Pats

Recommended Posts

I didn't make the baby, just the quote bubble.  Besides, when one cries that much, their face normally turns that color.

Also, just curious, how does one become a Patriot and Yankee fan, both.

- I meant the jammies.....it's still gay though....learn to Photoshop.

I don't recall a bunch of lame flamebaiting sigs when we were owning the Colts

- I've explained this MULTIPLE times here already, pay attention, it gets tiresome. Long story short, I've spent most of my life splitting time in New England/New York, or living in disputed territory. If you've ever lived in Connecticut/Western Mass you'd know how it is. Half the family supports NY teams, half Mass teams....that's just the way my alligences fell back in the day......I was a Pats fan back when the Giants were kicking ass, so don't give me any grief, if you feel like calling someone out there's some real bandwaggoners in this forum

Look, the Colts will still beat the Patriots. I don't care what team the Pats field. We can't have it both ways.

When the Pats beat a team hurt by injuries, we still say they beat whoever. No matter what versions they are facing, the players are still part of the Patriots team. Colts are beating the Patriots, end of story.

No excuses.

I see your message really sunk in, 2GOLD!

Didn't think it would. I gave it my best effort though!

You're right, it was just lame flamebaiting posts.

I was going to be a good sport and not say anything about the game last night, until I got on this morning and saw all the whining and excuse-making some of the people were making, so I felt I had to retaliate somehow. I'll probably get rid of the pic in the next day or so.

I'm not giving you grief, I was just curious, like I said. I'd never seen you explain it before. You don't see me jumping on VitX or Matt Young, do you?

Does anyone, and I mean ANYONE besides 4hartthreat think Jacksonville will run the table from here?  Dude, it's the friggin Jaguars.  They aren't all that good.  They'll finish their usual boring 10-6 or so.  Yes, they are a rough, physical team but they can't score for shit and that will always cost them a few games they should win.

Have you actually LOOKED at their schedule? Here it is:

vs. Balt, @ Ten, @ Ariz, @ Clev, vs. Indy, vs. SF, @ Hou, and vs. Ten

Then factor in that they've already beaten Sea, Cin, and Pitt, and almost beat Indy, is there anyone and I mean ANYONE that can really look at that schedule and say the Jags have no shot of winning out? The Jags have beaten better teams than Indy has, yet you give them no chance of winning out with a cupcake schedule except for a rematch with Indy in Jacksonville where the Jags have beaten them the last few years.

With the Jags, I can never tell. They have the potential to be awesome but they always end up falling short down the stretch and losing games they have no business losing. I can see them being in the thick of the playoff race and getting blown out by the Texans and Titans.

I know the Jags have a cake schedule but I repeat: They cannot score. When you cannot score frequently it puts you at risk against jobbers like the Texans, such as this week where the Jags barely won. They'll probably lose a couple more, likely to Indy in the rematch (Indy won there last year) and maybe to the dreaded Texans in the rematch.

The Jaguars are not such a great, dominant team that they can simply dominate anyone. Even if the Jags have a sterling 2nd half and go 7-1 the Colts simply have to go 5-3 or so to easily win the division.

That Jags are gonna end up missing Donovan Darius by the end of the season. If they still had him, between him and Rashean Mathis and their awesome D-line, I could see them running the table (And Byron Leftwich is a fuckin PLAYER, I wouldn't want to bet against him with something on the line, he's one tough mofo)

But I feel that Darius was a huge part of their secondary, and may end up costing them in the playoffs (and potentially a few reg. season games)

Puh-leaze. If the Patriots were beaten with their starters healthy, THEN I could understand the "Colts going undefeated" talk. They're certainly great, but Pittsburgh remains the best in the AFC. Watch 'em pound Indianapolis into submission by the middle of the third quarter. The only reason I gave New England enough of a chance to win was because I didn't think Manning would be able to get over the Foxboro thing. I still fully expect the Colts to wilt before the Super Bowl.

In the NFC, I have no idea. I've yet to even watch a Giants game yet this year, so I'll say Atlanta, Carolina, New York, and Seattle are the best in no particular order. Don't be shocked if the Panthers pull off that Super Bowl win this year.

That's a playoff game to look forward too... whose choking will prevail: Manning or Cowher?

Why don't we throw in Schottenheimer while we're at it as well, since San Diego might be able to cause Indy some fits.

Pittsburgh isn't exactly BY FAR the best team in the AFC. Kotz is stuck in last year. Watching the Packers and even the Ravens outplay them but not beat them as a result of a few turnovers isn't exactly very inspiring to call the Steelers the best. The Colts have no glaring weaknesses, as all they needed was at least a middle of the road defense to give their offense more chances, and they now have a more than decent enough defense, great special teams, and the offense is clicking. Not to mention they have no significant injuries, and we all know that a championship contender can easily be knocked out of that position by enough injuries, especially to star players (see the 1-7 Packers, who would probably be at least above .500 if it weren't for all their injuries).

in what alternate universe were they BY FAR teh best AFC team last year?

Um, you know, THIS ONE, where they had only one loss in the regular season?

The fact the Patriots pwn3d them in the AFC title game only gives more props to the Pats, really, but last year's Steelers were one of the best I'd seen come out of Pittsburgh in quite some time, and was definitely the class of the conference, much like Indy is this year.

that's like saying you rocked a really amazing, bass heavy, reverberating fart........it's still just a fart. Steelers got owned in the playoffs, should have lost to the Jets really, and IMO (and I'd hope in most people's "O" ) they were an overrated regular season team just waiting to get knocked off

I thought the Pats and Colts were the class of the AFC last year.....but obviously I'm biased

Even as a lifelong Pats fan (and Steeler hater) I have to say that I thought that they were the best team in the AFC (regular season only). The Colts & Pats were right up there, but the Steelers were the class of the AFC. Having said that, though, being the best team in the post season is really the only thing that matters. I'd rather my team go 10-6 and then be undefeated in the playoffs than go 15-1 and only to lose a postseason game.

I think that it's a stretch to call people posting celebratory posts after their team wins a big game 'flamebaiting'. And if it is, how is your picture any better/different than the ugly Pats fans flamebaiting in the past?!?
